Should have mentioned that the tubes I use a spinning rod (sorry). Seems like on the jigs on casting rods my favorite reel was the ol green Curado's with all the brakes out did the best job. Keep it semi low and kind of do a 360 with rod tip and send it on it's way. (lotsa practice)
As some of you know have been layed up for about three months. Well with the help of a friend I was able to launch my boat yesterday and see if it ran still. Everything was wonderful except half the day I had to have him lift the electric for me as I wanted to save my arms and back. I had ... had therepy in morning so was kind of double dipping and my arms today are talkin to me!!! Last night was the back. Sitting in a chair in a boat for a half day was a new one for me too but hopefully will just be for a short while. Did get a few fish but it was just a plain beautiful fall day.
Tight Lines.....every day on the water truely a gift from above
Skipping jigs I like a rod with backbone but a softer tip for jigs. Siffer the tip the more you have to work your wrist or arm.
LOVE skipping a tube with an internal weight....easy .... peasy

Used to fish in one out west and it was pretty fun unless you were in a lake with a lot of house's and you had to do the ol squat thing at the other end of the lake!!! Now that I'm out east in Tenn there is no way on Gods green earth that I'm going to be eye level with all these snakes....nope no way. Chicken no....Fear and common sense!!
Boat is now beautiful....therepy seems to be helping. My "core" as they say is getting better even though the exercise's kill ya....but getting easier. Thanks.......oh yes mold is gone. I can hardly wait to rip some lipe!
Love going fishing and feeling the tug. My dad used to say it's just good being out here even if there not biting. I go fishing to catch and enjoy the day. I go golfing to just enjoy day!
Tight Liness
Reminded me of when I met my best friend many years ago. (maybe 30) I was fishing a pond with my son out of a raft and met this guy in a float tube. Talked a bit and it's been good ever since. He still lives in Oregon but we talk every week.

Some of you know I've been down for a few months due to acute pancreatitus. Well things are getting a bit better as I was out working in the boat yesterday after physical therepy and my oh my what an eye opener. I usually keep all compartments open and such .... well not being able to do anything for awhile I opened rod locker as I wanted to change all my lines after almost four months of none use. My reel covers were spotted with this moldy #@!$ as were some of my rod handles! Soooo out came the simple green and a rag...dang. Went to recharge batts and I have a 36 volt elec and found out 2 of 3 batts are bad. (did get almost five years out of em...but bad timing...yes) So will have to look for some reasonable priced batterys. Can't afford the ol Trojens I'm used to running. Also another first is I'm having to put a pedistal in front full time for awhile along with another seat in back. Have only had to use a pedistal in rough water but due to so much couch time my balance is off as well as my back went south! (just for a short time I hope) Also am used to just hooking up and heading to the water by my lonesome...but wife says thats a no go for awhile too.
Ahhhhhhhh.....sorry for venting......thanks for listening....got it off my chest
Tight Lines to all
When I used to fish down in California had to really keep seats underarmoured.....bugs, bugs bugs and boy do they stick. Clear lake used to have zillions of bugs too that got all over the hull and almost came off as hard as tar if boat wasn't kept waxed!!

Give Phils Prop shop a buzz....they used to give out some good info. I will say your electronics are your friend in this lake...especially up the arm by dam.
Feel your pain...was told when we moved out to Tennessee several years ago that the yellow line down the middle of back roads stood for absolutly nothing. I now concur.
Fishing below dams out west on the Columbia we used heavy weights. (1/2 & 5/8) Fished a lot right below the boat for better line control. Did not seem to bother fish at all. I think they get used to all the floating dock like objects above them. Still kept line pretty light as would follow fish and made for better presentation (10# fluro). Back bouncing baits worked good also. Most of us used 36 volt to hold in current for this.

1. When I fished my first BASS State team many many years ago on the California Delta. Had to drive all the way from Oregon with heater in truck on as radiator was acting up...so was warm trip. Had the second slowest boat out of all ten states and won the tourney. Was in top five first two days an caught an 8# 4 oz largemouth the last day for kicker and truth be told. There was some head shakin to be sure among all the big boys.
2. I have to many...thanks for bringing back some memories.

Wudda thought he might have given you more fresh water!! Shakey head or tube are my desperate back seat baits. But a club tourney should of have been more like a team thing. Better luck next time..
