  1. Best of luck to ya
  2. Reasons I like winter fishin: Less boats....including jet ski's and pleasure There's some cold days but I dress for it and use had warmers in each front pocket Fishing can be OUTSTANDING...even shallow sometimes Tight Lines
  3. Water still 62 here in Tennessee. Air temp was 22 yesterday morning!! Caught smallies, largemouth and lost a spot fishin mostly in around 20 feet of water. I like using small dingers and tubes on 1/8 heads...6lb leader off ten lb braid. Was using a 1/4 yesterday as water was so warm. Tight Lines
  4. Wife has a kitchen Aid mixer and a grinder fits on the end. Just tried on some venison and it works great. Tight Lines
  5. When I get a chance to go fishing I go. And if I can fish from dawn to dark it's even better. Have done real good in mornings in winter for big smallies. Tight Lines
  6. I used to work a 12 hour shift and than drive over an hour home. Dozing off got to be a problem at the wheel so started going out to the car with a sandwhich in hand. Than when I got to car I would sleep the rest of lunch break. Was a bit groggy going back into work but no more dozing going home!! Oh...I remember many years ago wife screaming at me when I fell asleep at the wheel. Scared me so bad haven't done it since!! Tight lines
  7. PT is the way to go. Will give you some strenghening exercises. I had to go as I could not fish over an hour or two. I just did eight yesterday.....awesome
  8. Fishing clear lakes here in winter in east Tenn I have done awesome on shady banks. Love to fish in sun but do better on big smallies up shallower in shade. Tight lines
  9. I also buy the large hand warmers and put one in each front pocket of jacket or vest for cold days....its Awesome. A small investment for time on the water.
  10. Good sides are awesome and I love good potato salad with BBQ sauce on top. Since the Acute Pancreatitus I have eased up till things heal...can't take the spice. But do prefer taking that lil extra time and cooking at home. Have made some bummer BBQ's but not as often anymore!!! Always looking for a good BBQ sauce and the Halapeno jelly I use is usually store bought. P.S. Maybe we can start a "post your favorite sauce topic?" Tight Lines
  11. Spam.....love making musubi (spelled wrong). Originated in Hawaii....awesome stuff and you can just grab a block of it and eat like a sandwhich.
  12. I put a single treble on the front as the bass usually inhale and it's easier to release em. Tight Lines
  13. Good ol weber...some hickory pieces soaked in water and lastly some babybacks from Target (best I've found around Knoxville and good prices) Two hours later finger lickin time. Like to spice em and put a little OJ in some aluminum foil and cook in indirect heat for an hour. Take out of foil and lay in middle between coals and spice again and then 15 min beforre serving top with honey and halapeno jelly. Tight lines
  14. When I lived in Oregon the big rains would turn everything to mud in the winter where I chased smallies so chased steelhead. Now that I'm in Tennessee it's awesome to have water to fish all year. Like everyone has said slow...slow...slow seems to work best. Clear water I love a 3inch dinger on a 1/8 or 1/16 head on 6lb line or if they are showing on the graph a dropshot will sometimes work well. Bites are usually real light. Dirty water is not my favorite...but a 3/8 jig fished slow can get some good fish. Especially if they are up sunning themselves. Tight Lines
  15. Yup...see a good physical therpist. Have found stretching the proper way really helps. As I get older it's even more important. Good luck
  16. A lot of people back home were very surprised we moved to Tennessee after sixty years in Oregon.
  17. This has always been a biggie for me and thats when your reeling in your bait .... especially a crankbait. Keep your foot off the trolling motor right before the lure gets to the boat. The sudden noise can turn fish...have seen a lot in clearer water......just saying! Tight Lines
  18. I can remember every time I went on a fishing trip to California and beyond I had to load up on more very needed tackle!!!!! Getting better now.
  19. I had asked on here earlier about Hilton Head in South Carolina because my wife had gotten a good deal on a condo for a week. Well as far as fishing I found out it was mostly saltwater and a lot of it and should I get down there again I will know more what to look for and do. But someone on this site I believe mentioned Skull Creek Boathouse for a place to go restaurant. OH....MY....GOSH. Absolutly amazing. Customer service, menu, and taste of food. They have a menu of all kinds of seafood and it is perfection and I could eat there every day. From sushi to lobster and on and on. Thank you to who ever helped me find this place....was our favorite. Tight Lines
  20. Silver Thread Castable and holds up well
  21. I can hardly wait to "any" eat pizza again. It's been four months and who know's how much longer with the healing process of pancreatitus. Plus there's a long list of other foods. Praise the Lord I don't just have to eat vege's.
  22. See where you enjoy Norris....did you used to live down here? Have only lived here three years but do so enjoy Lake Norris...especially in winter. Tooooooo many people in summer. Tight Lines
  23. Dang!!!
  24. Sounds good but a bit warm for me untill the ol body does some healing. When my wife and I went to Scotland for our anniverssary a number of years ago they served chili or game stew over rice. To this day there are times when chili over rice is good. I think they call that chili noodle thing ...chili mac don't they!
