  1. Since I got this acute pancreatitas I have never watched so much football and it's not even much compared to a lot of ya. But I too hope for good game calling today. Could be especially heated up in Seattle!! So could be some fans on edge of their seat making loud noises. My choice.....Seattle taking out Denver in Super Bowl. That would be my New Years wish and many things would have to happen...but thats why it's a wish with possibilitys!
  2. Had our first qualifier for Heartland series here in east Tennessee yesterday and i'm tell ya I have never fished that long in chilly conditions. To start the day the ramp almost took me out as it had turned to ice and was a bit slick but no one seemed to have problems with their rigs. Anyway I don't think it got above freezing all day as I had ice on the guides most of the day and my reel would lock up once in awhile due to ice build up. First thing in morning you could only make about three casts before you had to dip your rod. It was amazing. I had two handwarmers and a lower back warmer on and ohhhhh they were awesome plus several layers of clothing. Fishing was actually pretty good for water temps from 42 to 44 on average. We used mostly reaction baits and had our limit in about an hour and culled, but my poor partner volenteered to manage the livewell and his hands payed!!! Here's hoping the next one is a little warmer. Oh...it took 15 to win. We had almost eleven but needed that all important kicker. Tight Lines
  3. Power Pro...ten to sixty five. Holds up and casts well. Have used fireline also and it's not bad. But does seem to break down faster Tight Lines
  4. Me and a friend pour our own shakey heads from do-it with mustad ultra points. Have been working well and I like spending time being a little creative with colors and such. Tight Lines
  5. My wife of fourty years doesn't fish but has tried about a handfull of times. She has natural abilities but no interest. But she has supported me more that I could of ever have asked. I've even been kicked out of house for following her around or spacing out looking out the window. She has a passion for golf and now does it quite a bit here in east Tennessee. I do this with her on some occasions. Sure do love the fresh air and changing pictures.
  6. Personally I owe a lot of Lami's and they have been an awesome rod. Especially like the rods with the graphite handles. They are also great people to deal with. Tight Lines
  7. Not a bad looking ride. But don't think it would look good with a trailor hitch and then not sure how it would handle on a slippery ramp. So guess this guy will just look at pics and wish he could get a new tow vehicle. Can't see having two rigs to insure. (yup must be gettin old)
  8. Every day is a gift...tommorrow is an adventure. Hope this is a great adventure for you all.
  9. Have used Smelly Jelly and Yum with some great results
  10. Amazing...thanks for sharing. I can only relate back to when I fished the Columbia River in Oregon/Washington. Had many fifty plus fish days but mostly fish up to five pounds. Spring was amazing. Tight Lines
  11. Luhr Jenson made a rubber washer for their buzz bombs and I use one of these between my weight and the knot. It gives it a little cushion and helps prevent damage.
  12. Awesome....that first cast you make this spring will be soooooo awesome.
  13. I would highly recommend Dry Creek Outfitters in Murtaugh Idaho. He's a class act for sure and may be able to help.
  14. All days on the water are truely a gift from above but those days where you know the wife is happy and everyone is healthy and things kind of just come together are the awesome ones. Rain or shine, tourney or not....there are just those days when the eagles are flying, the fish are bitin, ya got a good lunch and ya got good company. Tight Lines
  15. Having just moved in the last couple years to Tennessee I can't help you much in middle Tenn as there's so much to fish here in east Tenn I never leave. But you may want to check out local bass clubs. Chances are there's a sporting goods store close with some good intel. Tight Lines
  16. It's going to be interesting to see who's going to get to talk the talk and those who walk. Hoping for a good game myself. They've all earned where they are. Go Hawks
  17. Yeah....I agree there Glenn
  18. Oh my!!!! I guess we'll see
  19. Prayers and good wish's
  20. Weather was pretty bad for both games so think this slowed things a bit. Liked the first half of the Hawks game...second half was in cruise mode!! We'll see who they play after Sunday. Maybe all the experts will be suprised!!
  21. Been using Shimano products for years and am very satisfied. Use a mixture of their grease and oil for the worm gear. Great stuff
  22. I believe if your not a line watcher your going to miss a lot of bites....period. With that said I use a six to sevenish foot leader (fluro) (10# power pro main). I have used from 6 to 10 lb leaders also on this line with great success. Tight Lines
  23. I too use filler spools and have for years
  24. Pretty much have to get online but I have had great success with Silver Thread flur. Have used for many years.
