Placed order this morning, had a problem with the site last night. Looking forward to trying out this rod. Will be my first BPS product. Also ordered some more AbrazX.
Just want to practice flipping and pitching. I bought a Fenwick 7' MH for this on sale at Cabelas and I think it's not good for the task. So wanna grab a longer than 7 H. Gonna order the rod tonight I think. Stupid 8 shipping through bass pro even with the free shipping promo.. smh
Thanks bro, don't need any reels just the rod. Bass pro has them on sale for either 60 or 70.. Was thinking about ordering one. Just don't want to break the bank on something to practice on but don't want crap either.
Looking at the stats seems to be equal to shimano clarus and citica but green like Curado and compre. Any one use these? Good or junk?
I suck at flipping hence my longest BC rod is 7'0. So wanna grab something cheap to practice with.
I use 17# abrazx for cranking seeing as how it's going to be seeing a lot of obstacles in the water. Then I use 6# InvizX for my finesse i.e. drop shots, 1/16 jigs etc. 2 of my favorite lines and cast great.
Yea just mailed it. I think it's the catch on the anti reverse. I've taken my chronarchs apart before and cleaned them
I don't know what the hell I did wrong... smh thanks for input guys
Ok I disassembled cleaned it per shimano instructions plus flushed bearings and re lubed now it's making a severe clucking noise. I took it apart 7-8 times cannot figure out what the deal is. Idk if it's main gear screwed up or roller bearing. This sucks. Gonna just send it in tomorrow.
So my first fed tournament yesterday, which I tanked unfortunately, almost lost my Dobyns 684 and chronarch while landing a lmb. Grabbed tip of rod as it went under just in time over 17' depth. What do I need to do to the reel? Disassemble air dry an re lube or hard core bearing cleaning and the whole 9? Please throw me advice. First time I fully submerged a reel.
I'm running a Dobyns 684cb with a 201e5 chronarch. Loveeeee this combo!!!!!! My favorite rod I own. I got it on sale and it was around $170. Would I pay more ehhhh. Big maybe.
All my salt water reels I pull out my gun polish, Flint, my dremel and a round soft disc, and polish my washers. Noticeable difference on fish 10# and up. Idk if this would be an improvement for freshwater seeing as how I typically have my drag cranked down.
Chronarch is more like a BMW in the shimano line. A citica is like a Honda lol. I own the E5, 6 and 7. I love them. The mono will be good for spinnerbaits. Congrats on purchase.
Sustain is awesome! You barely have to put any pressure on the handle and the thing just goes!!! It's like a Stradic that takes creatine! Upset I didn't get the kick stand with the 6000 model for the price. It would have been a awesome feature when I'm fishing from rock jettys. In all honesty if I didn't have the credit from the other reel I most likely would have ended up with the Stradic FJ. This reel ran me 380 and after owning so many shimano reels I feel this is a $319.99 reel. It's a tad over priced but definitely feels far superior to the Stradic. Also happy I didn't get the Stella. Not for nothing either the Quantum Cabo looks and feels like a awesome reel. No more gear for me for years now. I've spent too much the past few months. Lolol
So for salt water I've been throwing Bait runner for bait and live lining and usually a Penn for throwing plugs. My girl bought me th Battle 5000 for my b day and bail would close mid cast so called Cabelas, explained and they said bring it back. So I had $116 credit and the Stella was in clearance for $600. Almost pulled the trigger. Debated for 2 hours between Stradic FJ Sustain FG and last year's model Stella. All in all I fell in live with the Sustain and considered the Stella over kill for what I'm doing. Sales guys just couldn't convince me on a Van Staal.
Any how no real purpose of my post other than I'm excited as hell to hit my favorite jetty and catch a Striper on this bad boy!
