  1. This thing is SWEEEEETTTT!
  2. Assassin is a little more slick which is good. Sniper is good. Can’t go wrong with either. I use 8 and 10lb Assassin. New Crank FC I had great reviews too.
  3. @J Francho I had a couple Tatula Elite spinning rods. Not the Feider one, the ones I had, had a “Daiwa” custom one, Eva above the handle portion and the locking nut at the bottom. Fantastic reel seat. No threads, no gaps between the hood and the base like the Fuji. If it was cork over Eva would be my favorite seat ever period. Definitely worth handling next trip to a shop that sells them. ?? this gap ^ is almost as if Fuji originally designed it for like a 500 size reel. It should sit flush when locked down but doesn’t. Any rod company that uses it experienced the same thing. Looks incomplete IMO. I also hate exposed threads, I don’t care if the rod costs $1000 there’s no excuse for it. Lol
  4. I believe they were hinting the frame structurally doesn’t hold up to the abuse. Idk I beat the living hell out of my Tat and Zill SV reels all sorts of heavy duty fishing and they’re considered “finesse”. ??‍♂️ Really anxious to get this bad boy in d**n inclement weather ?
  5. Funny you mentioned handles. I bought 2 lefty Curado Ks in 5.0:1 the minute I found out about them. But they have a 100mm handle with these massive knobs. So I ordered a pair of handles from the Curado K XG, 96mm wrong ones so ordered another set from the HG, 90mm. Yay! Lol so I have 2 extra handles actually 4 if you include the 100s. I like 90mm across the board personal preference. I’m not sure what size comes on the 70 it’s still in transit if I like it I’m ordering a second for a pair of flipping rods. But the handles are only $14 a pop from Shimano and I have tons of bearings to replace the bushings. There’s a review not sure if it was TT or a YouTube video but they were saying it’s only good up to like 3/8oz anything over go to the full size K. I ain’t buying it. There’s tons of guys using em for jigs and jig fishing ain’t much different then flipping repeated cast and hookset wise. ??‍♂️
  6. I’ll say NO, that rod is too soft to get a solid hookset plus ripping from grass is gonna be a lot of work. It’s even a chore to rip a trap from grass on that rod. Do you already own this rod or are you planning to buy it for chatterbaits? If your looking to purchase a rod the DC 734 is a much better option and if your into glass the DC 736 glass rod. Most guys who use the 734 such as myself use Fluoro while guys that use that glass rod use braid. In most cases anyways. The 705CB is a excellent rod for treble hook baits. DT6-DT10, 5XD, whopper Ploppers, Sammy’s, squarebills, etc. Fill me in on what other rods are available to you I’ll help the best way I can. Dave
  7. I run 50lb FX2 mostly. Have been frogging with the Tat SVs in 8:1 haven’t had capacity issues. Just got one of these in XG and not sure what to use it for. Digging a lot of the new Shimano stuff so have picked up a few different models. It’s prob gonna end up getting slapped on a flipping stick.
  8. Well there we have it! ??
  9. I screenshot the pic from Bass social media elite recap post. It’s also a spinning rod not a casting from the other pic. Could be like a Daiwa style grip above the reel seat locking nut below reel. ???
  10. Hey all I know this reel is geared towards the lighter spectrum of techniques. Just curious if anyone has used it for heavy flipping and punching? 3/4oz +? Froggin? Does it seem to hold up? HG vs XG any torque issues cranking on em? How does it handle 20lb Fluoro? thanks in advance can’t wait to see the feedback! Dave
  11. This company has been around for ages and is now just realizing their rods being tip heavy??? They’re not the only ones either. But props for them taking initiative to make a better product competitively priced.... Even tho I’m bias to Dobyns, I’ll still give credit where due, it just amazes me only a handful of manufacturers make a balanced rod especially in 2021! I mean a 8ft cranking or flipping stick is one thing but to have 6’6”-7’3” rods even some 7’6s completely unbalanced just boggles my mind this day and age.
  12. Def get yourself a DC 734 at some point it’s a great Swiss Army knife of sorts. Killer Chatterbait rod IMO. you have spooks listed for 735 I’d say throw those on the 734.
  13. I enjoy it. Just tedious. Ok here’s 1 don’t make me post the rest.
  14. Bout to start annual maintenance. Little group photo action. Need some TLC and some new bearings here and there but overall have been very happy with the SV models.
  15. Wow, I really like mine. I don’t have any purchases that I regret but I do regret selling my 6 Chronarch E series and Scoprion 1001XTs which @Delaware Valley Tackle won’t sell back to me ?

  18. Idk why I missed your post. Yeah sign away. These waters belong to everyone!
  19. https://www.change.org/p/connecticut-legislators-end-use-of-herbicides-on-public-bodies-of-water-in-connecticut What’s up Bass Resource! Hope everyone is safe and doing well. Haven’t posted in awhile been busy in all aspects of life. Here in CT like many states we face the issue of chemical spraying. The spraying in CT has gotten so bad over the past couple years it has begun wiping out fisheries. We finally have support from 3 senators who are willing to push legislation to ban spraying on Public bodies of water. However we need support! Below I will drop the link to the Change.org petition I created. A lot of time and energy has been spent into research so come the day I need to go before the Capitol I will be armed to the teeth with FACTS! If this legislation passes it has a good chance of spreading state to state. Please donate a moment of your time and sign/share this petition. It has a pretty lengthy statement along with it which you may find very informative! Thank you all for the support! Tight Lines! - Dave Miller
  20. Fury or Sierra 703SF I have one of those Excellers. Use it more often than my Tat spinning reels. You’ll love it. Great little reel!
  21. I’ll take one of those SV103 XSL off ya hands! They’re junk you don’t need it! I’ll get rid of it for ya ? Nice line up ??
  22. I tried the asegai in 50lb on a casting set up. It casted great. Just ridiculously noisey compared to FX2. It was driving me nuts. SX1 is a 8 carrier... seems everyone does 8 carrier for finesse then 4 carrier for power fishing heavier tests. Cortland is complete opposite. since my original post I tried the 15lb Cortland. Felt pretty good however had a wind knot that never cinched down. Pulled it out easily but it was enough to damage the line right above the leader knot. SX1 I’ve braved the same leader knot for months. (20ft FC leader). anyhow got a decent one on a 1/8oz hair jig. 1st cast testing the line out. ?
  23. I had some of those knobs on a different reel the rubber started falling off. The ones on the spinning reels that are shorter in length haven’t had a issue with... I like the I knobs the best either way ? I don’t mind matte black but not when your paying a premium for a reel. Tat 150 perfect example it’s basically like the Tat Tactical T.W. Had awhile back. Great reel for like a $109 on sale off the net. But $200+ for a reel there’s no reason not to have great paint job especially when it’s predecessor did.
  24. How they cut corners or how I like it better? Palms better to me, 3 full tournament seasons beating the hell out of em and they perform like day 1 with annual maintenance, and paint job is very durable. Paint/Drag Star/knobs are lesser quality. Not to mention the gear issues with the new model.
