    X-Rap Ayu?

No dude, Rapala has different color palletes and lures for different regions or countries. For example I 've got a DT 10 in GFO ( Gold Flourescent Orange ) you can 't find that color in the US , I know it beacuse I looked for it but you can find it in Mexico. Got some Japanese only color MidWarts. You can 't find the Shad Rap RS in Mexico you have to get it in the US.
  2. Who ? me ? oh well ........ juuuuust a little sparkle. Down here it ain 't a sparkle, it 's one of them Kaliforny fires firemen can 't put out.
  3. Rod: GLoomis MBR783 GLX Reel: Team Daiwa TDZ 105H Line: Trilene Big Game poundage ........ where are we going to fish ? Baits: 1.- 3/8 oz Single Tenessee gold blade white/chratreuse 2.- Megabass Vision 110 3.- The old reliable Shad Rap SR7SD 4.- Zoom Trickworm 5.- 5 " Zoom Salty Fat Albert
  4. I do on ocassion, only trouble is ..... I catch more bluegills, tilapias and carp than bass with flies, 5 times as much. Actually my buddies ask me when I take my fly rod if I am going after something else instead of going after bass. Them bass fisherman from the south, they don 't get it, it 's not the destination but the ride what counts : ....... oooops ! I just stepped on my tongue. :-X
  5. Right on the money, you purchase that combo and get the rod almost for free.
  6. Not true Grimlin, you remain concient all the way down to the floor. There are many documented cases of sky divers which for one reason or another have had problems with their chutes and survived the fall, they all say the same, you remain concient until you hit the ground. And here we are talking about terminal velocity which around 250 km/hr.
  7. Not all spirits obtained from the blue agave can be called Tequila, Tequila is a denomination of origin for all spirits obtained from the blue agave but from a limited geographical zone in the states of Guanajuato & Jalisco. The town of Tequila is located right in the center of the zone. The most common tequilas you can drink oustide Mexico come from the houses like Sauza, which is to a certain point what we call "industrialized" tequila which I may say are not the "gourmet" tequilas ( finest and purest ) those can only be bought locally and their distribution is limited to the region. The towns of Arandas, Atotonilco and Ayotlán ( not far from my hometown ) are famous for their gourmet tequilas which in many cases aren 't even bottled.
  8. You name the rigging technique you can imagine, I 've rigged them in all those ways and more.
  9. 3-4 ounces. But it won 't do any good to your joints if you save weight in a light rod just to add a heavy reel on it. Chronarch 50/51 Mg + GLoomis MBR783 = slightly above 10 oz.
  10. Welcome to Earth !
  11. Don 't have a true favorite I like all the ones I own, I 'd say that my all around Daiwa BC is the TDZ, but I also enjoy fishing with the Pixy ( Pixy/GLoomis CR721/8lb test line = 10 in the funometer ).
  12. Ok after the post modification ...... where are we gonna fish ? to include the reel .
  13. Eagle Cuda 128 portable. It operates with 6-8 DD batteries ( don 't know if you can plug it to a battery ) the transducer is mounted to the boat via a suction cup.
  14. Man, you must luv GLoomis, am I right ? Hey MN Basser, why just 3 ? now if you told me I could only choose 3 rods then they would be: 1.- GLoomis IMX CR723 2.- GLoomis IMX CR721 3.- GLoomis IMX SJR722 Now the problem arises with which reels, with more than 20 BCs from where to choose plus another 10 Spinning reels I would really have some trubble choosing which reels would go.
  15. The only way at the naked eye you can differentiate a female from a male is by size except during the spawn, males northern subspecies seldomly reach 4 pounds, bigger than that it 's a female, males florida subspecies seldomly reach 6 pounds, more than that it 's female. Fish below 4 pounds are indistinguishable. There 's another way, you add a drop of methilene blue solution to the anus, wait a couple of seconds and rinse, males have 2 openings in the genital papilae, females have 3. Easier said than done because it takes practice and being taught by someone who knows.
  16. I don 't say it won 't cast IB, it does cast but is not a good caster, also, the spool release in that reel is not a thumbar but a push button on top of the reel. Looks like this:
  17. "God bless your/their/his/her heart." "Kleen 'em n 'fry 'em"
  18. In which species ? Question sums it all.
  19. What do you want a flipping reel for ? The TDZ105HL is not a mirror lefty like the 103HL, it 's a flipping reel.
  20. Shielded doesn 't mean they are CRBB or ARB it only means that they are shielded and it will take some more time before water and whatever is dissolved in it can be able to penetrate the bearing, it doesn 't matter if it 's stainless steel because stainless steel can not only stain but also rust, you ask me I work with stainless steel instruments all the time and even the most expensive and best stainless steel instruments rust a little if not dried asap, the only instruments I work with that do not rust are chrome plated. Look at it this way, if oil can penetrate and lubricate a shielded bearing water just for having even less viscosity can also penetrate the bearing. CRBB/ARB means that the alloy from which the elements of the bearing are made of are a lot more resistant to corrosion, 8-10 times more corrosion resistant, doesn 't mean they won 't corrode, it means that it will take a lot more time before they show signs of corrosion. Still, any reel fished in salt or brackish water environments has to be rinsed after use with pure freshwater, it 's a matter of basic maintenace if you want the reel to last.
  21. I ain 't ditchin 'nuthin from now on, ditched the Curado SF, ditched the Calais ( to get me a TDZ ) well, no more ditchin, no more testin ', straightforward thinkin ' , only dilemma is ....... not which one X vs Y, but which one will be first X or Y ?
  22. Then my friend if you want light and saltwater safe don 't look in the DM, look in the JDM, the Alphas 103 is taylor made for what you want at the same price of the Chronarch Mg, lighter by 1 oz than the Curado 100 and with corrosion resistant bearings which the Curado 100 doesn 't have. www.brooklynbillstackleshop.com Price includes shipping and the man who owns the place is top notch and stand-up, no BS with him.
  23. Currently I own: 2 Shimano Curados 200 1 Shimano Scorpion 1000 2 Shimano Scorpion 1000 Mg 1 Shimano Chronarch 50 Mg 2 Shimano Metanium XT 1 Shimano Chronarch SF 1 Shimano Core Owned 1 Shimano Curado 200 SF 1 Calais 100A All of them had a very slight handle backplay including the Calais which was the top of the line Shimano reel. My oldest Shimano reel is one of the Curados, it 's well over a decade old and I have beat the living crap out of that reel, how many problems have I experienced with it ? ZERO problems, so on the longevity issue you are safe; does the backplay bother me ? dude, I don 't even remember all of them have a slight handle backplay 99.9999% of the time. I too have my fair ammount of Daiwas: 3 TDZ 105H ( 1 is still NIB ) 2 TDZ 103H ( 1 is still NIB ) 1 Alphas Ito 1 Alphas Type F 3 Daiwa Pixy ( 1 is still NIB ) None of them has even the slightest handle backplay. In case you wonder ..... I do also have Abus.
  24. Exactly. With a little work you can make your tub look like this:
  25. Then it 's not for you, you see, Shimano claims the ChMg is saltwater or brackish water "safe", that it has a protective coating, yada, yada, yada, yada; well you are one scratch deep enough to break the protective coating and it will no longer be salt safe. The electrolytic reaction between salt/Mg begins immediately when in touch. Aluminum is the way to go.
