  1. Back to the subject of FAT RAPS DISAPEARING LIKE THEY ARE GOLD!!!!! Muddy, they are gold ! And the Shallow Fat Rap and the Rattlin Fat Rap ( both discontinued ) are even more.
  2. Well I ain 't KVD but I 've never been an advocate of the "match the hatch" school of thought, to me color is one of the ways of telling the fish " LOOK AT IT ! " reason why I prefer hot colors or colors that contain a lots of flash ( lotz of metalflake ) In other words, choose the color you think will work best, presentation and location are more important.
  3. Mike, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits cast like crap.
  4. Don 't have a GLX but I have that rod in IMX and GL2, I use them as crankbait & soft plastic finesse rods.
  5. LOL You're in New Mexico do you really have a say in this! ;D I ain 't in New Mexico, I 'm farther to the south, 600 miles to the south from the US-Mexico border. It 's 92 degrees right now..... almost purfect, when it hits 100° then it will be purfect.

Look into the clearance bins, you can find great deals in those, like when I found the Rapala Risto Rap at 2 bones a pop ( 1.99 ea ), oh boy ! needless to say I stocked up good.
  7. Yo ! when did "winter" start ?
  8. Deer die for shure, bass may or may not. You can 't practice C&R in hunting.
  9. Flesh wound, barely skin deep but not bad at all my man.
  10. I 've never imported anything from China, from Japan to the US it 's a min of 15 dollars by EMS, have purchased stuff from e-tailers in Thailand --> 20 bones, Malaysia 22 bones and so on, without a specific knowledge most shipping charges from countries from Asia from what I 've found run between 15 to 25 dollars by mail to begin.
  11. About the haircut on my own, nope, there isn 't much left on top of the head either but being my wife a beautician ( stylist like she likes to be called ) I would be nutz if I have to go to a beauty parlor and pay for the service. I do need to go to the dentist, got three teeth fills that need attention ( I 'd say urgent attention ), I also need to have a check-up, haven 't checked my cholesterol levels in about a year and a half ........ but heck, those can wait, I need more stuff !
  12. From those you have on your list you can add the Chronarch 50 Mg, from those three it 's a tough call between the Chronarch Mg and the Sol for the light stuff, not that the Curado 100 can 't cast light stuff it 's just that the other two do it better.
  13. Yes sir indeeed, but that 's me, I don 't ever fish tourneys, I 'm a weekend angler, many times I fish from the shore and still that doesn 't stop me from purchasing and fishing with nice tools.
  14. Not a big fan of the super spook here, I prefer the Sammy 128; it practically walks the dog on it 's own.
  15. Not really, that 's why the Pixy was invented for. And you can choose which color matches your rod.
  16. I know I 'm getting old but actually I 'm not that old to remember the good ole days when baitcasters didn 't have magnetic or centrifugal brakes, my oldest baitcasters do have magnetic brakes. The intersting thing here is how much you have to use the braking, I know it 's all in the thumb and that I have the braking set at 0 up to 2 most of the time, but them Rapala Minners do need some more braking "muscle" or ....... man, they cast like crap, wind or no wind, the aerodynamic capabilities of those baits are ZERO.
  17. You ain 't gonna go broke if you have to sacrifice a hook bu cutting it. Modern hooks are not like the old hooks the people talk about when those recommendations of cutting the line and leaving the hook to rust away were written, modern hooks will take a very long time before they even begin to rust on the surface, let alone rusting and dissolving away.
  18. Weeelllll, we don 't need to turn the AC on during the "winter" so I 'd say the temp is around 60.
  19. Wait until you try to cast a Rapala Minnow, then you 'll see why you need a magnetic or centrifugal brake.
  20. What do beavers have to do with otters ? they ain 't the same.
  21. To me it really isn 't about how much can I save, it was the possibility to create my own with the hardware I wanted. For years I couldn 't find a manufacturer that would sell for example, jigheads with larger fine quality hooks, been pouring my own jigheads with oversized hooks for years, now they are called shakey heads ; can 't take the credit of inventing them but shakey heads are far from being new to me. Is it less expensive in the long run ? I can 't tell, but money has never been an issue.
  22. Nope, about this:
  23. Muddy, my man, at your age peeing with sphincter control to is the acomplishment. ;D And I better :-X cuz I 'm heading that way too. :
  24. I say you never know until you try but ........ X2
