  1. Silstar BX56BCM, if I hadn 't break it out of pure stupidity I would still fish with it. Then I got a Berkley Lightning Rod LR16 5 '6", I still fish with it and her sister a LR 15, both are over 20 years old, but back in those days when I purchased them they weren 't 30 bucks a pop.
  2. Also try www.japanprofishing.com and www.bass.jp
  3. Always done it, the drag in my over 2 old decade reels is just as new.
  4. I don 't care who you are, that 's funny right there ! ;D ;D ;D
  5. Order a spool assembly for a 100DSV from Shimano, it runs for about 40 dollars. It doesn 't matter if your reel is a lefty, the spool don 't know it 's in a lefty reel.
  6. Uhmmm.........nope, cheap stuff has never been my favorite. :-? Yup, more likely.
  7. Those years you casting mean nothing, I 've been casting with BCs for more than two decades with Trilene XL, XT and Big Game and the day I spooled in P-Line CXX 12 lb test in one of my reels I got a motherlord bird nest as good as the ones I got when I began learning with BCs. Lines behave differently, if you don 't like how the line behaves then spool in what you are used to, if you want to try with new line then you have to practice until you get it right regardless of how much experience you think you have.
  8. Yes it says 200E7 on the side; no, I don 't have more specs available. The pic was taken with a cell phone ( that 's why it has poor quality ). Let 's brainstorm a little on those numbers: 200: size E: possibly new consecutive letter code for the new model 7: gear ratio ?
  9. Sneak peak:
  10. Then you need a Chronarch 50/51 Mg.
  11. Gotta say that durability wise they are much better than the original Javallon from where they were copied, sneeze hard on one of them Javallons and it comes to pieces, LFLMS doesn 't have that issue, they are harder and more durable even though I feel Javallons have a better action due to the softness. Hooking them with a weighted EWG or unweigthed EWG in my experience with LFLMS is not exactly the best way, with Javallons that 's not a problem, the hook slices through the plastic ( I should say it tears the plastic ) and gives you good 1 bait per fish catch ratio : but with the Live Magic Shad that 's not the case, being the head is thick but since the material is harder the hook doesn 't exit well the bait head and creates poor hookups. Try with a jighead with an oversized 3, 4 or 5/0, it does wonders having the hook exposed, the only catch is having the bait head impaled on the jighead right along the middle line otherwise the bait runs crooked.
  12. If you were in my neck of the woods I 'd say you caught a tilapia.
  13. Ok, you described the rig, what about the bait rig? I always t-expose the hook point when I rig beavers.
  14. Weeeeellll, he 's the SHERIFF ya know.
  15. Spool in the line test you will fish the most with, if your everyday lake asks for 20 lb test because of the ammount of cover then spool in 20 pound test, there 's no point in spooling in 12 lb test if it 's not going to cut it. Guess how I came to have so many reels ? In most of the lakes I fish I can get along real well with 10-12 pound test, in the others 17-20 lb test is what is spooled in the reel, in others I can go as low as 6 lb test.
  16. YUP ! When you open the bag and faint with the scent it means the bait is in it 's prime.
  17. "Lady in question" please. It has happened to me several times ( specially with one of my dearest friends :-?, don 't know what 's wrong with the man, he sees a broom with skirt and goes wild ) and ...... I don 't remember.
  18. Ok, then if it were a Daiwa ......
  19. I use a regular jighead with a 3/0 hook. Insert the hook in the cavity and hook the bait where the jighead is supposed to be, rotate the hook so the the jighead rotates in the tube until the hookeye is upwards, now you have the jighead inside the tube with the hook protruding from underneath, insert the hook in the tube, if you want to you can T-expose the hook. Press the tube against the hook eye and tie your line. Now it 's wedless and you didn 't have to get "special" tube jigheads.
  20. Shorter and less deep, in theory the line spooled in such reel should present less coiling, that 's good until you reach about 1/3 of the spool cuz then the line will generate a lot of friction against the spool lip and shorten the distance. I 'd rather stick to a shallow spool reel, which unfortunately are not available in domestic models.
  21. Well, lets see: Jitterbug Hula Popper Sputterbug Arbogaster Sonics and Super Sonics Culprit 7.5 inch ribbontail worms Mann 's 6" Jelly Worms ..... that 's was until I ran out them Mann 's 6 & 8" Augertail Worms Hellbenders Bayou Boogies Strike King spinnerbaits with Tennesse blades Mepps Aglia & Comet ( including the Black Fury ) in-line spinners Sluggos Jerkworms Zara Spook Zara Spook II Zara Puppy Man, do I have to keep on with the list ? ........ now looking at it I dunno why the heck I keep on purchasing tackle if those baits have caught me fish for over a couple of decades. :-?
