  7. The reason why you 've never seen it anywhere in the US is because it is a Berkley JDM bait. I have one pretty beat up, unlike many other swimbaits where most of the action is in the tail in this one the bait wobbles like a crankbait. I got mine at e-bay a couple of years ago just to find out they are quite hard to find.
  8. My man, those soft plastic sticks are for making the bait weedless. Pass the stick through the split ring and then stick one of the treble hooks inside the bait, one end of the stick goes on each of the remaining exposed hooks, now it 's weedless.
  9. Just a matter of a little practice, I remember when I began chopping pork, I chopped in the full definition of the word with a lot of muscle before I got the hang of it which cost me several baits I left legless. :

  11. The only part I care about being soft and pliable are the legs. You doctor them by placing the bait on a flat suface with the meaty side looking up, then with the blunt side of a knife you "chop" ( don 't chop too hard ) starting at the meaty part all the awy down to the tip of the legs and then do the opposite, do it once or twice and the legs get soft.
  12. Shelling out 200+ bones in a Scorpion is too much money IMHO when the Curado 101D is a better reel. A few years ago when compared to the old Curado 100B it made sense to shell out the money, the Scorpion was a better reel, nowdays it 's not that much of a great idea.
  13. The Sahara is a very nice reel for the money, very smooth, good line capacity, very good drag.
  14. You can blow them in kool looking Japanese tackle ya know , just a suggestion.

  20. I have it, I would go for the Curado 100D. Back a few years ago when both compared the old Curado 100B was a lesser reel, nowdays the Curado 100 is a better purchase, the only things you don 't gain are the external adjustable braking and the cold forged handle which by the way is only 70 mm in length ( vs 80 mm ).
  21. Could any of the moderators please give this thread the last rites ?
  22. I 'd say that in the Shimano Compre level.
  23. Back in the old days not backing up your drag when the reel not in use meant constant pressure upon the drag washers and drag pad material, which were not as advanced as the material found in modern day drag pads, in some cases they were made of felt like material, in others made of something akin compressed cardboard, in others of compressed cork, in others it was leather. The strength of you drag was proportional to the thickness of those pads, thinner pads meant weaker and less responsive drag, besides, most of them had wet drag pad system, the pad was soaked in lubricant, the constant pressure caused the lubricant to ooze away making the pad dry and brittle. In modern day reels the drag pad material is ages away from those early drag pads, most of them are incompressible, but the drag washers and springs no matter how modern and no matter how strong will flatten out with time if maintained under constant pressure. That is why you should loosen the drag when the reel is not in use.
  24. I wrote several months ago a thread about which ones were available by state.
