  1. Pulled the trigger and ordered some of these yesterday. Yes, they are a little pricey, but if you've ever used their lures you know they're worth every dollar. A crankbait with an adjustable square diving lip...Yuki Ito was thinking outside the box on this one.
  2. It's a P&K (Pachner and Koller) Spinning Minnie, made in the 1940s. P&K was a partnership out of Chicago that started in the early 1930's. I wish I could tell you that your lure is worth something, but it is in very rough and used condition. Still a good find though. If lures could talk, I bet it would have a few interesting stories to tell.
  3. They won't rip you off...I've never known them to charge someone for an item until it ships.
  4. I seldom lose cranks and top water baits, but jigs...I lost 4 in under an hour earlier this summer fishing some rock piles. I don't think I have the courage to flip a 10 dollar jig.
  5. Past couple of years it has been either a T-rigged 6" HooDaddy or Damiki Monster Miki smothered in CB Hawg Sauce crawfish gel. Shallow or deep, put one of those in front of the beast and get ready to rumble.
  6. Does seem strange that they would end it before Labor Day, but they did start it a week out. I tried their link for the sale from facebook and it still worked. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SEASONSALE.html?from=basres BTD, Bass Tackle Depot, is still running their sale. 20% off.
  7. Man, I love those holiday sales...thanks Tackle Warehouse!
  8. I just got some Sieberts Dredge Head jigs and they are top notch. They're made with the Owner Deep Throat hooks and the cutting point on those hooks won't let you down. The paint job on the heads are of the highest quality.
  9. I use these from TW on my rods and white tape on the reel seats.
  10. BDS 3 in American Shad and Chartreuse Black Sammy in MS MJ Herring and MS Black
  11. Received my package today...nice, very nice. Great job Mike Siebert!
  12. Well, I'm glad that you do. I've been looking long and hard for ready made jig heads made with the Owner deep throat hooks. Those are the sharpest and deadliest hooks out there IMO. They cost a little more than the Mustad or Gamakatsu, but they're worth every cent.
  13. The King Daddy is one of my favorite night baits. It will land them, both big and small.
  14. I had checked these out before but didn't realize that you can order the jigheads without the skirts until today. I like that these are made with the Owner deep throat hooks, so I ordered three packs. Can't wait to add my own, homemade skirts. You rock Seibert!
  15. Hey Glenn, you could start a promotion where when a BR member makes their 505th post, they receive a free Bass Resource Decal!
  16. Rapala still makes good balsa cranks. I’ve been a fan of Rapala balsa lures for over 40 years, and have collected vintage Rapala lures for just as long. Rapala use to construct their lures from balsa blanks, that was cut down the center making two pieces. They would then cut a channel around the circumference in the halves in which to lay a wire form, hook hanger. The two halves were then glued together, sanded, and finished. Out of curiosity, I decided to sacrifice a DT lure manufactured last year to see how these lures were constructed today. I found that the front hook hanger is molded into a rattle chamber and although I was able to bend the wire with needle nose pliers, I could not pull it from the chamber. The rear hanger is still a “through wire,” elongated form, about 1.125”, laid in a channel and then sealed with what appears to an epoxy or glue. Although I own and use plastic lures from several different companies, I will always hold a special place for those ole balsa lures, especially those made by Rapala.
  17. You have given a memory to your son that he will never forget...way to go Dad!
  18. I wear a ball cap until summer hits, then I wear the boonie hat I wore over in Iraq.
  19. My favorites: HooDaddy Sr. and Damiki Monster Miki with skirted punch weights.
  20. Same here...I enjoy tying my own skirts. I also like using those blades with holes in them offered by Barlows.
  21. Yes, I've used these patterns with good results in the past. The lures in the pictures are LC cranks that the artist sells. I'm sending him some Risto Raps to repaint.
  22. I've got a couple of the French made 300s I use as room décor, they would need a major overhaul before they could be put back into use. They were good reels back in the day...glad to see someone still using them.
  23. Gene Larew HooDaddy Sr...my goto creature.
  24. Selected these patterns for some cranks I'm sending out for a makeover. I'll post pics of the finished results in 4-5 weeks.
  25. If yours is in similar condition as the one in the picture with all weed guards intact, $200-$250. If you had the original box in fair condition, I wouldn't take anything less than $350.
