  1. LC BDS 2 & 3 in Chartreuse/Black Back and American Shad are a couple of my favorites.
  2. Another view of first aid kit attached to crate.
  3. This is the first aid kit I purchases at Academy Sports. I carry it inside a molly pouch that's attached to my crate. I added a quick clot sponge pack to it, but other than that it has everything you should need. I also carry a knife on my PFD.
  4. Now that's how you call those hawgs in!
  5. I've got a feeling you'll be breaking that PB...congrats!
  6. If you were able to learn anything new about your tackle, craft, prey, or anything new about the water you fished, or even meet a new friend while on the water...then maybe you were not skunked at all. A day on the water without fish is always better than a day without fishing at all.
  7. I know it was Jay...and I took it as such. <G>
  8. Boxes are everything to a collector. I found this out years ago with my lure collection. Todays bubble packs makes display a challenge, but with lures still sold in boxes, I print out a picture of the lure and then place it in the box for storage. having those boxes will help my wife recoup a lot the money spent on my fishing trips when I'm gone. Save those boxes!
  9. This one will never catch a fish as it is displayed with the rest of my "lookin" lures and not with my fishing lures. However, I do know it's counterpart, the Pop Max, will land those fish.
  10. Recently received this Megabass Balsa Max for the collection. The color scheme reminded me of one once used on the old Heddon Crazy Crawler.
  11. I've been laughing hard reading this thread, hard enough a couple of times I had tears. I've been fishing for 50 years now and have collected lures for at least half that. About six, seven years ago I attempted to count my hard baits, most of them still in their original boxes, for insurance purposes and gave up at a thousand. When I pass, my family will have a lot of fun organizing an estate sale. Is lure collecting an addiction? You bet it is.
  12. I think this is something that should be discussed with the guide before your trip. I've used a guide when I'm fishing a large lake for the first time. It saves me a lot of time and really helps on subsequent trips I'll take to the lake in the future. The last guide I used was really helpful and not only turned me on to new baits and techniques, but also showed where a lot of good structure was located. He also showed where the hazards were located. (submerged boulders, etc.) I've learned a lot over the years by watching guides fish from the back of the boat.
  13. I've used all those mentioned and then about five years ago I tried CB's Hawg Sauce Crawfish Gel...I'll never go back.
  14. Wake baits run on the surface or subsurface.
  15. For those of you who like or always wanted Lucky Craft, Bass Tackle Depot is giving big Labor Day discounts. I ordered my favorite cranks, CB BDS and paid $8.99 and $9.99 each.
  16. X2 Give the jointed Shad Rap a try too...caught many a bass with those.
  17. Just added this Pop Max to the collection...it's not for fishing though, it's just for looking..
  18. 13.4 lb LM on a 9" Cherry Seed Mann's Jelly worm.
  19. I feel your pain. We saw a lot of good lures fall to the wayside after the VMC Corporation began buying out the smaller bait companies. I also miss the balsa Fat Raps, Sz 5&7 in all colors. It was a tough crank that you could crash on the bottom and into logs. I have 30+ FRs, NIB in my collection that I'm holding for my son.
  20. I wouldn't be able to use a peddle craft in the waters I fish because of the weeds and mats that I like to get into. I personally enjoy the experience I get from paddling, however, I don't have anything against someone who wants to use leg power. As far as their use in tournaments goes, they are faster and can get on their spots quicker.
  21. Great review, think I'll pull the trigger on this one.
  22. X2 BTD will have items on sale that TW doesn't, like Lucky Craft. TW's Christmas sale is their best sale of the year, but IMO, their Memorial Day sale has become a little sad the past couple years
  23. Another HooDaddy moment!
  24. Yes, 6" with a 5/0 Owner wide gap.
  25. Man Ken...I like that yak! I purchased another Trident this winter, but I wished I would have gotten the BGII. You'll have to give us a good review after you have had it on the water.
