I only know of the Yum baits. I have used those foam ear plugs soaked in attractant inside other tube-styled baits. They also help the bait to float.

Why not Mr. Carp? Next time you use Google Earth, map, or like program, check out the lakes in the southeast part of my state. We also have trout fishing in a few of our streams here. I've caught bass on lures sporting both the rainbow and brown trout patterns. Oh yeah, those lakes you'll see down there were stocked with Florida bass in the 1980's. Not all of Oklahoma is flat and barren......I think you'd be surprised. Here's a nice trout stream below Broken Bow Lake.

I think you were steering me away from some good holes though....I saw quite a few photos with 5 lb + bass. B.A.S.S. should go over there and do a story on their organization.

It was actually clorinated water (drinking water) that was leaked into the creek. I haven't heard how many fish were affected, however treated water dissipates quickly in running water and the damage should have been minimal. I just hope the city of Lawton finds and fixes the problem. By the way, glad to see local on this board.

Fish Chris has the right idea....record the tag number and fish data and then release the fish. The data is a very valuable to your State Department of Conservation and is one tool used to measure the health of both body of water and fish. If you choose to take the fish home to your dinner table you can also send in a scale sample and the otoliths (earstones, located right behind the brain). Both of these are very valuable in determining not only the age but also growth rate.

Totally agree with Fluke & KU. Water temperatures around here at sunset during the dog days are around 84 degrees and you can see the fish suspended in and just above the thermocline on the graph. (25-30 feet) After 1-2 a.m. you'll see those fish start moving up into 10-12 feet and from 3 to sunrise the action will really pick up. I use to launch the boat at sunset and stay out all night, but now I'll get in a few more hours of sleep and wait until at least 1 A.M. to hit the water.

Where can I find the clear plastic diving lips used on crank baits. I've looked all over, Jans Netcraft and Barlows etc., but all I can find are the metal screw in type.
