  1. What's wrong with your Javelin Brian?
  2. Hey Brian, you need to hook that boat up and hit the road on your days off. I've never fished the lakes up north but I like what I've seen down in the southeast. McGee, Sardis, and Broken Bow all look good.
  3. Welcome to the board Brian. Well, I'm impressed....seems to be more folks from the Sooner state on here than I thought. Hey Mike and Dances, I'm not an expert on McGee yet. I only started fishing it a couple years ago and being 3 1/2 hours west I've only been there four times. Never during the spawn but I hope to fix that this year.
  4. Discontinuing the Risto Rap and Fat Rap is Rapala's biggest mistake IMO. If they ever bring them back I hope they do it right and make them from balsa like the originals.
  5. That's right Drewster....we're just pokin fun. I place a lot of orders through TW, but when it comes to my jelly worms I order direct from Manns. Order them in lots of 100 and you can save $.50 + per 20. (9 inch) They keep a long time also.
  6. Man, I can't believe you guys.....giving up a secret! I've been using this worm for over 30 years and it's the first worm I'll throw every year. At $.17 each they can't be beat IMO. Marmalade, tequila green, and cherry seed are winners with me. Because they float, they're perfect for T or C rigging. Now, can we remove this thread? :-/
  7. Hey bighead,Mike,FLip, and E-3. Didn't think there would be even this much of a response. I'm in Lawton myself, retired here from the military 10 years back. I've fished most of the lakes here local but the past couple years have found myself driving over to McGee Creek Lake. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive from Lawton so don't get over there as much as I like but have really developed quiet an attraction towards that lake. I'm still figuring out that lake but it looks very promising and I've seen others pull out a few trophies.
  8. The Risto Rap is a good crank, just as good as any other crank. I've caught many bass on the RR7 and RR8. At last count I had 78 of these still new in the box and always have a couple on the boat when the crank bite is on. Most productive colors for me are the emerald green shad and char/black shad, both special limited and were not offered in U.S. catalogs.
  9. I use to have one bait in each compartment but those days are over. Hook bonnets let you double-up without all the tangle. If I have a crank attatched to the keeper on my rod I'll put a hook bonnet on the free hanging treble, keeps it from scratching up an expensive rod.
  10. Any members from south/southeast Oklahoma?
  11. Another view.
  12. Couldn't help myself....had to have these. Talon Shibu Spinnerbaits.
  13. Finally got my BBZ Shad.
  14. I picked up the RC 3.5 wake, American Shad, earlier this year and threw it 3 weeks ago. I caught 2 off of it running it along a drop-off. It seemed to run better at a slow retreive. I wish they made it in a red craw color.
  15. I just received two Mikeys this past week and have only thrown it on a local hole just to test the water. I think it's going to be a good wake bait, and has a realistic action. There were a couple of times when a group of dinks followed it up to the boat. I'm looking forward to using them on a larger lake with those Florida-strain toads.
  16. Barlows Tackle
  17. Thanks for finding those Raul. I picked up three of those Argons last fall but haven't used them yet. Guess I better get em wet.
  18. That's how I would have rigged that bait Lavrax, great job. Hey HydrillaKilla, you're not throwin swimbaits yet?? I started throwing 6-8" baits last year and my next PB will be on a swimbait, and yes, here in Oklahoma. You fish Texhoma?.......that lake has swimbait written all over it.
  19. The new 3X plastics do not have the bouyancy of the original. I really miss the Terminator Cyberflex plastics, I landed more with their lizards in Black Ruby than any other plastic I've ever used. I guess Rapala wanted to stay away from soft plastics when they aquired the company.
  20. You've got a good boat. I fish out of a Tracker (PT175) and I love it. Yeah it gets blown around on windy days but I can get it up in shallows that the heavier boats can't. BTW, the back of that middle seat can be taken off easily, makes getting to the back deck a breeze.
  21. Ramses is no match for the bait monkey
  22. I've had two 565s on my boat for 3 years now and no complaints here. IMO, it's the best bang for the buck.
  23. I stand corrected......it is a golden shiner! Took this pic from a marine bio book.....check out the color of the fins. It says those fins can even turn red durning spawn.
  24. Man, you got it goin on. Looking forward to seeing the finish product.
