  1. You are on a roll Snook. Nice one. Like that fluke too.
  2. I live in South Florida. Where you are mentioning is West Florida. The best advice I can give you is get very familiar with google earth and plan an excursion. Keep it simple, especially if you are only down here for a little while. Lastly, enjoy lake o and have great time.
  3. Cool vid. I am still diggin that little boat.
  4. Sorry I took so long to show myself. I was trying out a new camera yesterday so I decided to snap a picture, remembering this thread. Don't mind the fish they were running really small yesterday.
  5. Awesome story. Sorry, the fish got unhooked. Sounds like you tried everything to keep her on.
  6. A guy I know did his bass fishing by doing just that, fishing turnpike ponds and canals around them. He caught and mounted a 9+ LMB. He caught on this little bitsy popper. He had the bait placed on the fish's mouth when he had it mounted.
  7. I experimented with several lines at one time and I came to realize for my style of fishing I only need braid for two of my outfits and Yozuri of varying lbs test on my other outfits, and I am good to go.
  8. I have been bassfishing for a while now and I never used scents until a few months ago I started using JJ's, unfortunately I did not handle it properly and it clouded up on me (my mistake) then I came across Megastrike thru this forum of course and I find myself using it 100% of the time. Fish hold the baits longer and if I miss they comeback and sometimes pick it up again.
  9. I would have to say the trick worm, fluke, and frog (in no particular order)down here in South FL. If you do not get hits on any of those baits pack it up and call it a day.
  10. Good luck dude. Enjoy! I went out yesterday to my local spot and was only able to entice one to bite. Hopefully they are open to your offerings today.
  11. No, I have used a rage rod for a complete season as my frogging outfit and its as good as when I first bought it. I use 50lb PP.
  12. I have handled both (not fish with) both are real nice. If you got the $$ to buy I lean toward the MGX. Sweet reel.
  13. Cool story. Quick question. Is Dwight living down here for the winter months or on an extended vacation?
  14. You can pay through paypal without having an account. I could be wrong but you can go in as a guest. You can use your CC and you also do not have to include your banking info that they repeatedly ask for.
  15. Sad, but funny.
  16. My dad had the same cancer a little over a year ago, he is a liitle bit older than your dad. Dr's caught it very early, and he opted to remove his prostate to be on the safe side. Thank goodness the cancer was contained and the procedure was a success. There are several options to deal with prostate cancer. Survival rate is very very high as someone posted earlier. Although the survival rate is high. You tell anyone they have cancer and they fear the worst, which is understandable. Talk to him, taking him fishing and get his mind off it. My thoughts are with you and your dad.
  17. Wow, big time coincidence.
  18. Sea gulls. Annoying at times. There's a park I fish close to my house and I can be doing some top water work and gulls will appear from out of no where and dive down to my bait. I literally, have to wait when they are out of sight before I can cast again or they will turn around and start over.
  19. The pants thing, its the sun. Looks like sunrise, unless you were fishing the west coat of South FL.
  20. Looks like a nice froggin canal. Since its so shallow right now, try froggin at night. Since you said you can walk it for a while, see if you can get closer to the junction of the main canal and your feeder canal. (Assuming its a reasonable walking distance).
  21. Thank you, Tuckahoe, it was staring me right in the face.
  22. I have been noticing lately these "question answered boxes" how do you guys do that?
  23. Sorry to hear about your experience. Like everyone has been saying, thankgoodness everyone is ok. Learn from the experience, and start rebuilding a little at a time.
  24. It can probably do well accept if its that snot grass. It will stick to everything and literally hide your bait.
  25. Bass are pretty stealthy and camouflage well with their surroundings. You should run a swimbait just above the grass or moss line and see what happens.
