Simple bottom rig with some live shrimp, this time of year esp. at night you can get some nice mangrove snapper. Good Luck.

I just looked up the bait ball lures and they all look sick. The crank bait looks cool, but the jerk bait looks crazy!!

I could understand if you said the Senko's were one of your favorite baits, but to say you will fish with them exclusively is really limiting you as a bass fisherman. I bet you if you catch a 6lb bass on a hollow body frog you will be singing a different tune.

Snook, when I read bands I assumed colored bans. But, you are right around the banks we have to be vigilant.

Sam, thanks for the concern. When you hear guys talking about the bite that will occur, they are not overly concerned about this storm. Although the media will make you think the sky is falling. I myself are one of those guys. I am thinking about heading to fish tomorrow as well. A tropical depression is nothing to be overly concerned about. A little bit of wind and a lot of rain. The unfortunate thing is that the water levels are going to increase and the bass fishing is going to really slow down.

I think Silva has lost his motivation. I honestly think he wanted to get KO'd and he wanted a temporary out. What leaves me scratching my head is that he just signed a 10 fight contract so what his end game is who knows??

Snook, I am almost with you. I went out yesterday for a couple of hours and nada. I felt completely defeated. I used every go to technique that works for me and all had to show for it were to little bass that when put together add up to less than 12 inches. LOL. Fortunately, there is good possibility I am heading out to the glades tomorrow, that should be interesting. Snakes in this part of town is nothing to shy away from. Remember, with banded snakes, red over yellow one dead fellow (coral snake).

TeamShrink, nice fish. A little bit more info about you will be nice. What part of FL, are you from. What were you using to catch such a pretty fish, what time of day?

Jonnysmith, I am in agreement with you that live bait will probably yield some good results, I could be mistaken, but I think the majority of the anglers following this thread are artificial anglers. Also, please show pics of the successes you have been having live baiting. I have not done live baiting in years, I am sure its still very fun.

FishChris, I am sorry your fishing grounds have deteriorated so much. Fortunately, you fished it during its hayday and have a record to show for it.

I have been striking out in the fatty dept this past week. 6.8lbs is a sweet fish congrats. Like you, with work and family, I fit in fishing when I can and its during the toughest part of the day. Throw in the fact its summer and fishing is going to be sloooow. Next week the family and I are going on vacation so fishing is out. You and AK-NJ are leading the way, keep at it.

I bet GSP took some notes on that one. Hendricks will put GSP to sleep in that same fashion if he is not careful. GSP and Silva I know fight two different styles and GSP takes a different approach to fighting but Hendricks has some serious stopping power.
