  1. Very thoughtful friend.
  2. Explore away. There are numerous spots down here in South Fl.
  3. Hey, I know where that is. Countyline area. Those turnpike retention ponds hold fish. One of buddies biggest bass, he actually mounted it, came from those type of ponds. You fish them like any other South Fl. lake, canal, or pond. Remember its summer time so you have to incorporate those type of patterns. There are actually several of those ponds in the immediate area off the turnpike. Good Luck. You have definitely stayed consistent to land a bass. It will pay off soon enough.
  4. Those look very cool!!
  5. Andrew, sounds like you have to engage more brakes and tighten the dial a little more. The frog has plenty of weight to cast, it sounds like you have to dial it in more and remember your thumb. Other than that you are on a roll in Jacksonville. I come back into town tomorrow so I will see how I finish in July.
  6. My PB was on a spinner. This was before cell phones had cameras. She went for 7.25lbs
  7. Shane, impressive that you pulled that big one out of the glades. I personally think the glades are done for quite some time especially after this week. If you still had your Gheenoe you can do some serious flats fishing back there.
  8. I have a 2nd Gen SX on mine and its off balance but I do not mind. I frog with it all day.
  9. I especially like how the new baits in the little tank were all floating waiting to move on the slightest move. That was cool.
  10. Mike, I was looking at those ICAST videos and a couple of Bobby's baits will do great down here.
  11. Hi Bobby, I really enjoyed your ICAST videos of your new products. When can we expect a release date and find these baits on your website for sale?
  12. AK-NJ, send me a PM on your questions in regards to your revo reel. I have an S and STX and I know them pretty well. Don't leave a sweet reel in your car like that. I can walk you thru on how to set it up and with what baits to use them on. When you come down and we fish the Glades you are going to wish you knew how to handle a b/c.
  13. Here is a funny thought that just hit me Mike while reading your posts. I can relate with you right now actually. I am going through a learning curve with a spinners actually. I have been battling with fisherman elbow for over 1 1/2 now. I self taught myself to fish when I was a kid, and I am naturally left handed. When my dad bought me my first rod and reel, me being a kid, I did not know the reel handles could be reversed so I learned how to fish righty. Fast forward to present day. I have had to switch the handles to the other side now due to my elbow and learn how to fish my natural side. It's taken me a while to get used it. Go figure.
  14. Mike, researching rods will be fun. When your time comes to pull the trigger on a new rod, especially toward the end of the year, look up St. Croix bargain room. They mark down some of their high end rods to make room for new ones. You might be able to find what you are looking for. That's what I did and its one of my favorite rods.
  15. Even while doing nothing your still catching fish!! C'mon!! LOL. Bass hit when you least expect it.
  16. Thanks for always thinking of us.
  17. Mike, once you get the thumbing part down on the bait caster you will start seeing your arsenal of rods and reels increase. I picked up baitcasting when I was in my late to mid 20's and it has changed the way I fish dramatically. Do not get me wrong, spinners have their place in bass fishing, however several applications are superior in my opinion with a b/c. Trust me, once you get past the learning curve, there's nothing like stickin a pig with a b/c when your froggin. Good Luck. Keep at it.
  18. I am looking forward to that day. It will be really fun. We can do a boat tourney with the winning boat having bragging rights.
  19. Like previously mentioned, unless you are holding it with reel pointing right side up I do not see how a spinning reel feels awkward. Try changing the handle to the other side of the reel and switch hands. If that doesn't work, use it until you get proficient at it.
  20. Whenever the water rises and it spills over the banks, the water returns into the marshes and flats. Accessibility, becomes very limited to boats. If you have an Airboat you are in business. Martin have you ever questioned why the glades is the hotspot for bass fishing in the Spring? The reason is, because besides bass spawning, the water levels are at there lowest and the fish are contained in the canals.
  21. Old ponds are treasure mines. Big fish reside there. MCS good luck tomorrow. Bass Czar you are on a rampage. You guys cannot imagine how bad I want to be fishing. I am on a family vacation and I am reading all these catches. Regardless, I would be stuck anyways. South FL is being pounded by rain. That means unfortunately the Everglades is out of commission for several months. These tourneys may force me to find new waters. THANKS GUYS
  22. I knew you guys were cheating up there!! Going into illegal privately owned bass retention ponds, with armed security guards patrolling the area. No wonder MCS fishes so early in the morning and AK-NJ and Bass Czar fish at night!! Busted!! YOU GUYS ARE DISQUALIFIED. LOL..LOL.. It's the only way I stand a chance right now with you guys. You guys are doing great up there, keep it up.
  23. I agree with what's being said. That fish is a skinny 4-5lbr. Either way. Nice catch.
