  1. I agree with Bluebasser, to write down the details of each outing, requires discipline. The only thing that I have been doing recently, is with each of my catches that are pic worthy, I take advantage of the pic gallery provided here on BR. On each pic I just add quick note of location, and bait used. Since the pic already as a time and date stamp, I can go back and see what baits worked in any given part of the year.
  2. What gets under my skin is, when I fish in an area that looks completely void of life. Then I get a hit, set the hook on a 2 lb bass, then 2-3, 4-6 lbs bass come out of no where to try to eat the lure sticking out of the little 2lbr mouth!!
  3. Juan nice pics, and fish. Looks like you have them dialed in at that canal. What color of Fluke was that? Looks like it was Albino or light in color. As far as changing baits, if it's not broken why fix it? Stick with what works. If the pattern changes then you change. You should have joined our friendly contest. You would be one of the contenders with those catches.
  4. We will be waiting Juan don't worry.
  5. Pea's in Orlando?? If they are not in Lake Okeechobee, they are definitely not in Orlando. Too bad too because you guys would have a blast.
  6. I have had a Saros for years now and I have never come across that problem.
  7. I am glad you came across monsters. Pics? Full moon, so it should be interesting. Pea's usually go for fast moving, jerky baits. They will on rare occasions go for soft plastics, like the pea I caught last month. What part of town are you doing your fishing.?
  8. Enjoy!! You will not regret your decision.
  9. Yes, I could very easily do that. When I go out with my boat I only fish 4 rods. When I bank fish I only fish 1. For my style of fishing, I would stick with my 7ft M/H avid with a Lews MG. I currently have 30lb PP and I could work with leaders if need be.
  10. Good one, I guess you can't fix ugly.
  11. Sweet fish. Congrats
  12. Good for you. WTG.
  13. Look into the local forums under NE. They have a thread going titled "Who wants in" those guys fish your area and have been catching some really nice fish. Get to know them, and ask them your questions. I have never met them, but they sound like a nice group to get to know.
  14. ComfortablyNumb, for a fish that big??
  15. ComfortablyNumb, Jaguars just look mean. They swim cool, and collected, with a mean swag to them. CravinMorehead, in order to catch either species, you have to make your way to South Fl. Central Fl, is way to North for them.
  16. If you want to save money and get a great reel. Buy the Lews Tournament MG. You will not be disappointed.
  17. Welcome back Mars. Nice to see you back in the game. Nice catches as well.
  18. Alex, welcome aboard. You are going to meet some great people and learn a ton of new things. First off, add more to your profile. It will help us identify were you are located more or less, and what bodies of water you are close to. I would offer some advice, however I like to know what part of the country you are located before I can give you suggestions. I am sure a BR member living closer to you will be able to be more helpful. Enjoy the site.
  19. The suggestions have been good so far, my question is how many fish did you actually lose? 2? 5? 10? If its 3 or more. I would revisit your setting technique. 2nd, how big were the bass? You could have been dealing with young little bass. 1-2 lost fish? That's just fishing.
  20. No, I have only fished with Koppers and Booyah's as of late.
  21. I have started to use booyah pond crashers recently. I have used Koppers frog for years and I recommend those as well. Going back to the booyahs, I was using one a couple of days ago and a decent bass blew up on it. After I set the hook and fought and released the fish, I looked at my frog and it was ripped in half. I have another booyah frog that I have caught few fish on one being 6lbs + and its still going strong. I cannot say that the booyah frogs will not hold up well because of one incident. However, saying that, if another one rips in the near future after less than 5 fish caught on it, then I will strictly fish Koppers only. Hope that helps.
  22. I am excited for you. If you can afford it and you feel its fair considering the location that you are going to be fishing at, then, good for you and your family member. It will be a trip that you will talk about for years to come. Take pics and enjoy your trip.
  23. Advancement in technology does have its advantages.
  24. I really like the handles on the MG. I am a paddle handle fan. I know others do not like it. Different strokes for different folks.
  25. Dude, you are one dedicated guy. Fishing and following BR at the same time?? LOL.
