  1. I got my rods Today & I must say I'm impressed! For $50 they are 1 HELL of a deal!!! They say "Grass Puncher x" On them. The punch rod I have now is 7'6'' & thats great out of the boat or from the bank but too long from the Kayak (for me) 7' Will be great in the Kayak. Another thing I like is the grip is a bit smaller in diamiter than the grip on my other split grip Kistler. I'd highly advise everyone to pick one up. The Shimano is a nice rod for the money too (other than the EVA) & BTW it's not White but a Grayish color. Btw the Shimano Sellus is a Crankbait rod but at Medium power I think it'll make a better weightless plastic rod. imho
  2. I love it when a plan comes together.
  3. I am a Cork guy but other than that I like my Veritas. Check out the Lamiglas with micros.
  4. Lamiglas Excel Micro Guide Cast Rod 7' Med Lt Micro guides with Cork for $119! This may be my next rod I am also looking at the older 2010 Cork Shimano rods.
  5. I have a 7' MH micro Kistler & I like so I'd say go micro. As for the line isn't the soft line for spinning reels?
  6. I have the TP & XT. if you are new with a Baitcaster my vote is for a Curado they are very forgiving. IMHO
  7. You can use braid anytime you want to . I personally use Hi-Vis braid & color the last 7 foot of line black with a sharpie. I never use a leader. I'd say most use braid 50-65 for a frog but after that it;s just up to individuals as when to use the braid. I fish flukes on 8-12 # mono but if it didn't dig I'd be back to 10-20 braid.
  8. I went ahead and got 2 of these & 1 of the new White Shimano 7' m rod & he shipped them for free (shipping was included on the Shimano). 2 Broomsticks & 1 Shimano for $157 shipped.
  9. This is why I don't post the pics of the dinks I catch.
  10. I thought about them to replace my catfish rods?
  11. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KISTLER-GRAPHITE-PLUS-IM7-KGPXH7-7-BAITCAST-ROD-/200384665491?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ea7db5793
  12. Keep your head up!
  13. Nice! You'll like the 225 a lot . My last boat had a 200 and it was a lot of fun.
  14. I am soon going to be in the market for another fish finder. What exactly do I need to look for in a fish finder? Do I need a Color display? Does anyone have a favorite Model? I'd like to get one for around $200 & may try to find a good deal on one this winter but I need to know what to look for.
  15. I personally am not a fan of the rod but the seller does have 100% + feedback.
  16. I have a SX and a Curado. The SX stayed home today & I took the Curado out with me.
  17. If I like her I'll name her Mercedes!
  18. Yesterday I threw a Fluke with a 6' ML spinning rod with 10# 832 & a 3/0 hook. I fished this on a shallow weedy flat from my Kayak.
  19. I hope your wrong I sold my Citica & have a Curado 50e on the way. BTW, I loved that old Bonneville!
  20. I agree I am trying to replace my 2 older spinning rods 1 is 7' and has 15# flouro (hate it) on it & the other is 6' with 10# 832. I think that I will replace the 7' rod with the 6'10'' Powell rod unless someone has another idea on a rod .
  21. I am starting to acquire a small arsenal of casting rods/reels but I am looking to get a couple of new Spinning rods (1 for now). I am looking for a fairly all around rod to throw 3/8 oz and smaller plastics and maybe a mepps spinner now and then. I plan on using 20# power pro with this set up. Opinions on this rod= Powell Max Wacky Rig Spinning Rod 6'10 Medium $139.99
  22. I also saw some use 8 AA rechargeable batteries I may go that route?
  23. Thanks EVERYONE for the help and the ideas and Francho thanks to the link to the Kayak forum. That said could I silicone the heck out of it on the INSIDE the hull and let it shoot through the hull? If I can do the cup of watter idea couldn't I replace the watter with Silicone? I just looked at the Link and answered my own question.
