  1. Thanks guys! The blank is a MHX X-COMPOSITE CRANKBAIT It is a MH but has a really soft feel?
  2. Look at the stripper guides. If it's to small for me to get my thumb in it I'd pass on it. I love micros but I think the stripper guides need to be at least a size 20 IMHO. I think the Carrot uses a size 16? I am not sure about the size on the rage but look down it to see that the guides are straight. I have a Rage casting rod and it's one of my favorite.
  3. If you want more power look at the Tournament MG it has a longer handle but it only has a mag break.
  4. I just spooled mine up with 12# Yo-Zuri
  5. I like my Core 50 more than my TPs but other than that I love the TPs I just tuned both up so we'll see how well they work now.
  6. One blank is a MHX and the other is an American Takle Viper (Blue). The guides are also American Takle. The Eucalyptus is not cork but a solid chunk of wood I turned on the lathe. I love the feel of wood, Some day I'll learn to turn the handle knobs. The Carbonlite will not stay on that rod I have a 200E5 with Boca's & carbon drag but the Carbonlite looks great in the pics. The other reel is a Quantum. Any idea how hard it is to find a decent Blue spinning reel?
  7. First off the handles are not as long as the pics make them look. One is a 7' MLF spinning with Blue Concept guide system One is a 7'2'' MHM crankbait with micros Both have Eucalyptus Burl handles. http://smg.photobuck...curt54321/Rods/
  8. Several TPs on the Bay now under $170 and most of us have seen them as low as $153 or lower. They also have a new model? $50 obo reel on the bay. I checked Lew's site and it was not listed so I don't know anything about it.
  9. Mud Hole sells tubing you can cut in small lengths (1/4''). Slide it over the blank to the places you think you want your guides (I'd guess 11 total) then slide the guides under the tubing. Add a reel & thread the line down the guide and flex the rod. Then adjust the guides to keep the line off the blank. If you don't understand this search static test
  10. I went to my BPS on the second day of the reel trade. I KNEW they'd be out of the new Carbonlites so I didn't bring a reel to trade in. Sure enough they were sold out and had no idea when they'd get more in. So on the last day of the trade I called and they had a stack of them back in stock. I had them hold one of them for me, they said they could only hold it for 24hrs but I had it picked up in 1 hr. I was also surprised they had some 51e left.
  11. I picked 1 up and am going to use it for cranks, probably light/shallow ones on a 7'm crank rod with 12# Yo-Zuri.
  12. Mine works fine on all but the KBF forum. On that site it will jumble several words together and it will also add the letters it needed to correct the spelling without removing the others.
  13. The SS works GREAT I had a T MG that also was GREAT I've never used a SS MG
  14. I was able to pick one up Today. After a few minutes looking at it at home I like it . I think I'll use it once then give it a good cleaning.
  15. Are the drag washers carbon?
  16. It has about the same amount of Plastic parts as my Curados or TPs
  17. NICE
  18. The lew's is a awesome reel. It's top of the line in every way. The Curado/Chronarch 50e is a bit better if you throw light baits.
  19. I have 1 of the Signature rods 7'6'' H or EH I can't remember. It's a great frog rod. However most don't like the TFO rods, at least not the signature series.
  20. Rod would be a custom built 7'MEF with micros Just like the one I built but with some killer wraping... My Core 50 with Carbon drag & Boca's Glenn, What's your dream rig?
  21. ^^^^^^^^^^Great info above^^^^^^^^^^ Or I'd look gor a Curado "e" or a Lew's
  22. Montoya has hit everything else , he was just trying to be perfect.
