  1. 6.8, I'm sure it would have been bigger if I had one of those lucky hats!
  2. Have you looked at the Rage rods? I also like Kistler rods.
  3. I finally got me a "7-11 heavy" Today, hopefully I can get it wet this weekend!!! I pitched with it in the yard and she's a keeper.
  4. Tie a fish to it and call it good!
  5. Welcome fellow yacker.
  6. Ok, soit's been a while but I finaly got the new Carbonlite out of the box Yesterday. It's spooled with 8# Zo-Yuri and is on a 7'M Crankbait rod. I'll have to say I was impressed! It casted GREAT. I turned the mag break off and set the other one to 1 and it never even tried to backlash. It is a little bit noisy on the retrive but hey let's not forget it's a CHEEP reel compared to everything else I use. I'd rate it a full five stars!
  7. I went to 2 lakes Yesterday with Miami being one of them. After a bout 4 hours of fishing my total of fish caught for the day was .................1 Yep I said 1
  8. Personally I think you can get a GREAT reel for $150 but If you think you want the BEST look on Ebay for a Lew's TP! I've bought a used one for under $100 and a new one for just over $160. In my opinion they are as god as it gets hands down bar none!
  9. I'm having Siebert Outdoors make me some (10) jigs with Trokar hooks!!!! Can't wait.
  10. Anyone get their hooks yet?
  11. x2 That looked like a fun day to say the least!
  12. I hate Kansas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I personally just don't like EVA. I have noticed they get a little slick if you get fish slime on them.
  14. You won't see any chips on my Siebert Outdoor jigs.
  15. Too small if your in any wind or current. I'd look for a 30 or bigger.
  16. I made it back to the state lake for a couple hours this evening to try out the new Kayak. I think the lake was probably fished pretty hard over the weekend. It was one here one there for a while until I found them then the bite was on! They had moved in a little shallower than last time and it was just the smaller males and no big girls. This is a pic of the first fish out of the new yack. not big but a pretty fish.
  17. The 6000 was my first (I have 2) I still use them for Catfish. The Black one was my first low profile reel.
  18. This is how I learned to fish a jig.
  19. ^^^Nice fish^^^ I went back to the state lake this morning for 2 hours. I had them going from the first cast. in fact I either caught a fish or missed a hook set on the first 15 casts!!! I was fishing a Big-O jig and was having a bit of trouble with the hook sets on my 7' Kistler after the insert fell out of my7'6'' Veritas! I am having Siebert Outdoors make me some jigs with Trokar hooks that I think will help out. 2 Hours and probably 24 fish Today. Nothing quite went 3 pounds but it was still a great day. Typical day they turn on and off like a light switch. I saw my first snake of the season (close up)! I'll post a pic of it if it turned out. The rain made over 1000000 potholes in the gravel roads on the way to the lake I wouldn't drive anything nice out there.
  20. Try a cast net after the bread.
  21. BTW max HP on my boat is 25 and I am looking for a 25 to put on it.
  22. I have a 14' with a old 18h on it. It will plane out with my Wife and 2 kids and will run 23mph on GPS.
  23. Mine did that once and it would not read depth. I had to power it off and back on and it worked fine. It should not click! Were you in less than 2' of water? BTW, my ducer is not the same as yours it's a DI unit.
  24. That looks GREAT!
