  1. Largemouth bass are moderately abundant in the lake. Anglers will find fair numbers of bass that are 9-12 inches with fish 15-19 inches occurring occasionally. Fishing spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics around timber, emergent vegetation, and submerged weed edges should result in success for bass anglers. 15-19 OCCASIONALLY???
  2. Same thing happened to me, The other day I was ready to give up and go home so I reeled my jig in like a swim jig ready to leave and BAM, fish of the day. If you listen they will talk.
  3. Your killing me, I can't wait.
  4. I fish at a lake that has an 18'' limit to keep a fish. I wish it was the other way around anything over 18'' must be put back. $.02
  5. Needle nose Knife 9mm
  6. A towel to dry my hands after I catch fish and rinse the slime off. If I forget this I use my Jeans and if the fish are biting my pants end up soaked. And sometimes a couple of Beers!
  7. Get a fish finder on it asap.
  8. The MG has a longer handle I really like!
  9. I'd at least buy the Tournament SS. they have the dual breaking (not the MG) like the Tournament pro does. The SS is a great reel but I like the mechanical breaks more than the mag breaks.
  10. ^^^ That's crazy fat!!!^^^ I figured you'd go back after the day you had yesterday. BTW, don't quote me on this but I think they dropped the permit thing a couple years ago at Osawatomie but you may still need a boat permit I'm not sure? Do you have to pay every time you go to the power plant?
  11. I recently tied my 15# FC to a tree and stood back (pitching distance) and gave it a pull. I could not believe the amount of stretch it had. It was like a ruberband. I like FC and am going to order some 15-20 Tatsu but until then I spooled up 50# braid. On a side note with the 0 stretch the braid has the hits will about rip the rod from your hand! And it doesn't want to backlash or get loose on the spool while pitching.
  12. I recently tried the new PP super slick and it's a good line but I like the Suffix 832 better. I think it's quieter and lays better on the spool. and has a Hi-vis color option. Btw, I use 20# on spinning. WELCOME!
  13. Retro, your photo skills are way better than mine. lol How big was that pig of yours?
  14. My brother went fishing with me last weekend. He dug through my stuff until he found the Mepps spinners and said "I can work with this" He went out and killed them with that thing! Nothing big but sometimes "it was bass a cast".
  15. I'm trying to picture this, were you in uniform? BTW this is this threads 600 reply
  16. I had about 30 minutes Today to fish Olathe lake for the first time today . Total amount of fish caught................0 After I got done biding another job I had about an hour to fish Osawatomie lake (closest lake to my house). To my surprise I caught a nice fat 4.5#er !
  17. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Hookset problem solved. I tied my fc to a tree and gave it a tug and determined it was made by slinky. I changed to braid and went fishing and had had no problems with hooksets.
  19. That's funny, I like a longer grip. I put the butt of the rod to the side of my chest and then set the hook. Some days I go home with marks all over my chest where the metal butt plate of my Veritas has dug into me.
  20. What length/action do you prefer while fishing from a Kayak? I'm having some trouble getting a good hookset (may be dink fish) so I'm going back to braid and going with a long fast heavy rod... Thoughts?
  21. Hi lurker
  22. I drove through last week and saw a bunch of temporary housing trailers, are you in one of them? Welcome
  23. What does everyone use to flip & pitch jigs? I lost my 7'11'H Rage rod and am about to buy another rod. I'm thinking about another 7'11'' Rage or a 7'10''HF Legend Tournament but I want to know what everyone else is using.
