  1. http://www.basspro.com/UV-Buff-Headwear/product/97319/376129 largemouth bass one is on that page
  2. The 2013 Classic probably will not be bed fishing. It is still pretty cold in Oklahoma in February.
  3. Do lipless crankbaits count in this? Strike King Red Eye Shad is by far my favorite, especially living up here in the north where we have extended seasons of cold or cooler water.
  4. I just got mine in the mail this week. I cannot wait to get out there and try it. I wore it while working in the yard a little bit this past weekend and it seemed to be quite comfortable.
  5. I think some people here are severely underestimating professional anglers. There are so many little tiny things (and I mean LITTLE) that the pro's do with just retrieves that make a huge difference. If I had all the best equipment and the best boat with all of the best electronics; I'd probably need a solid two years (And by solid I mean fishing at least every weekend) with that setup before I could do anything of note in a pro tournament.
  6. I actually have a similar question to that as well. There have been quite a few days where I can find fish (specifically smallmouth) piled up in one specific creek mouth. After the sun gets high they move somewhere. There is no real dramatic depth change or structure for at LEAST 500 yards from this creek mouth, and the fish are no where on the electronics or in sight. I have driven around this entire area looking at the electronics and its just flat and about 5-9 feet. Do these fish really move all the way out to the nearest drop or strucutre? even if it is that far away?
  7. It has become tradition for me to stop at a Turkey Hill and pick up a gas station sub. Sometimes I actually find myself missing my gas station sub if I go fishing without it now. GAS STATION SUBS!!! lol
  8. I am also marshaling at Oneida. Got my stuff in the mail this past weekend. I will be there for 3 days as well. Cannot WAIT!
  9. There are definitely areas of the lake with visibility more than 5 feet, I can't say how far but definitely more than 5. I've heard of other people having success at night here with black spinnerbaits with a Colorado blade. Do you think changing to a bigger black spinnerbait and slowing it down and fishing it deeper will make a big difference? Fishing fast and a foot under the surface or less produces stragglers, so maybe if I slow it down and drop it deeper it will catch more?
  10. Oh, and if it helps at all, the water temperatures were about even over most of the lake. The temperature was around 84 degrees give or take a degree or so.
  11. Hello all. My friend and I have been fishing at night a lot this summer and we cannot seem to get things going in a good direction. Once the fish go deeper in the mid-summer, we are not the best at catching them. The lake we fish isn't extremely clear but definitely not extremely stained, somewhere in the middle. We've tried fishing anywhere from right up on the bank down to 10-12 feet in tall weeds/grass, we've also pitched around docks where there is artificial light on the shore. We've thrown black buzzbaits, black spinnerbaits with a Colorado blade, 10" black worms, frogs, jigs, and various other small things. After trying all of these things we just cannot seem to catch any more than a few stragglers throughout the night. Should we try moving offshore? Any and all ideas as to what we are doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Sussex County here. I am from Pennsylvania though so I end up going back to Lake Wallenpaupack and various other PA lakes for most of my fishing. Occasionally hit Hopatcong though.
  13. Hi all. I've fished this lake a bunch of times and have done pretty well there but I can always use more information or a few tips. Anyone know anything special about this lake at all? Thanks for anything in advance!
  14. I just saw that too. I find it weird that the PA fish and game website does not list it as a game fish in that lake though. Thanks for all the info! I guess they just aren't overly common in that lake. In one lake in New Jersey I would catch as many pike as pickeral. That is the first time I've ever seen one in several years of spending many hours on Lake Wallepaupack.
  15. By invasive I mean, how dangerous are they to the bass population if they weren't in the lake until recently?
  16. I've never seen or heard of northern pike in Lake Wallenpaupack before. How invasive are pike, if this is a recent thing?
  17. Looks a lot like this pike, almost exactly like it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Esox_lucius.jpg
  18. I thought that at first when it was being reeled in but it has weird spots instead of the usual chain markings. Is that normal? I've never seen one that looked quite like that.
  19. My friend caught this fish at Lake Wallenpaupack, PA yesterday. I think it looks most like a northern pike but the spots look kind of weird for a northern and I've never heard of anyone catching northern pike in this lake. Anyone able to tell from the picture if it is a northern pike and just weird looking? Or is it something else?
  20. Hi all. This isn't my first post on here but my other username stopped working for some reason so I created a new one. The guy I always go fishing with, who owns the boat that he is kind enough to bring me out on, has a structure scan on it. We are great at using this to find good bass structure. Now I'm not sure if it is just the lakes we fish or what, but we can never seem to find fish on these things. Are bass usually close enough to the structure or bottom that they just appear as part of it on the screen? We can find humps and drop offs and sunken things really well, and they just never seem to pan out. I live in northeast PA and we fish Lake Wallenpaupack more than anything.
