  1. I think your rod is perfect for chatterbaits as well.
  2. Since it seems like everyone is talking soft body, I love to throw the 3.8 inch Keitech Swing Impact Fat, and I throw it on a Kistler Magnesium 7'3" MH with 15 lb line. Gosh I love Keitech's
  3. MH is definitely not too much for a big topwater. Not at all. As someone stated above, MH with fast action would be perfect for most of that. I am someone who prefers a longer rod, though, so I might go to 7 foot.
  4. I would go with the Kistler Magnesium 2 series that just came out.
  5. Kistler Magnesium TS 7'0" MH Senko/Worm Special
  6. Had a great time last Thursday at my secret lake. Caught quite a few good ones just having fun fishing a senko! Check out the video I made of it. Nothing better than monster hook sets! (It looks better if you put it in HD)
  7. They are going to Toledo Bend. They are also supposedly going to Wheeler or Decatur, Alabama.
  8. Spinnerbaits are my world. What rod and line I use depends on whether or not I am fishing in open water or in tight spaces. I normally use a Kistler Magnesium 7'3" MH all purpose rod and 20 lb mono.
  9. I am amazed that no one has mentioned the Poor Boys Baits Erie Darter yet.
  10. I use it this way sometimes, yes. Same setup. I also use a power shot on a baitcaster for spawners. For that I just used straight 12-14 lb FC.
  11. Kistler Magnesium 7'3" Heavy Froggin' & Riggin' stick. Love this thing. Throw a Daiwa Tatula on there and some good braided line that matches what you are doing and you are set!
  12. JVD is now owned by over 25%. So much for that 2.1%. Zaldain Iyobe Bertrand Feider Hawk
  13. The Triton is actually my friend's boat. The aluminum boat that you see in the beginning when I am talking is my boat. It is a 1997 Sea Nymph and I got it for a steal of $2500. Everything works well on it and it is perfect for small lakes.
  14. As promised, here is the video from my trip there last week! Nailed a ton of good ones. I decided to actually put a description of what I used in the video this time. Enjoy if you want!
  15. I think most people just want something to complain about (the jet ski thing). I agree with you and I don't get why it is so difficult for some people to just follow the rules!
  16. I would say that you should figure out if there is anything different that is triggering the strike from the larger bass and just focus on that while ignoring the smaller ones. If you have that many numbers of fish around you can always come back later and fill out a bag of 2s and 3s if the going gets tough. Just my opinion!
  17. For the money you will do well for yourself with a Carbon Steel.
  18. Good to see someone can appreciate the simple things most!
  19. Had an AWESOME day. With how clear that lake is, the one thing it is good for is spawn fishing. I recorded everything and I will post a video here when it is done! I ended up using a combination of a 1/2 ounce jig and a drop shot on a casting setup. The jig would get them angry but they wouldn't eat it and then the drop shot caught every fish but one. I've been using this setup for years and it is awesome! Long before Chris Zaldain made it a big deal by catching a 12 pounder, haha. I had a Caffeine Shad on there; Texas rigged.
  20. Congrats! I used to enter all of those and never won a thing. Good to know someone actually wins, haha. Personally, I am not a fan of the Quantum KVD series rods. The Tour KVD reels I don't mind, but I still prefer a Lew's or a Shimano. But, as everyone else state above, you may end up liking the combo! Try it out and find out.
  21. I love the Kistler KLX Mark Rose offshore rods for any bigger crankbait.
  22. I have fished Beltzville 4 times this year and it has been it's usual "dead sea" self. I am going there on Wednesday as they should be in spawn now. Should be fun!
  23. A: Keith Combs B: Ott DeFoe C: Russ Lane D: Brett Hite E: Morizo Shimizu
  24. Excellent video, Glenn. I will be trying out the Ned Rig soon!
  25. I use the Kistler Magnesium TS Shakyhead/Tube Jig rod. It is 6'10" and medium-heavy. I have 12 lb Sufix 832 on it with a 10 lb Seaguar leader. Love this setup!
