  1. Went out today to my secret honey hole for an hour or so after work got on this guy on the basstrix perch swimbait weighed 2.5lbs. Loving this weather right now big girls in my future hopefully
  2. You guys are garbage.... Just playing buddy nice fish. Gives me that drive to keep hammering out the swimbaits.
  3. Got out today after work at a nice little secret spot up near my camp. Got about 4 of these pickerels in about 4-8ft of water on the basstrix swimbait reeling slow and steady. Feeling a hog in my future can't get enough of these swim baits the 6in and 7in in rainbow trout and perch colors were the ticket.
  4. Went out Yesturday got skunked but the action on the basstrix swimbaits is unbelievable. Haven't really been able to put in the full time on the water only 2 hours here 2 there because of work, but I'm hoping once I can get out for a full 4-5 hours atleast I can cover a lot more water with the swimbait and pick apart the ponds with a jig. Tight lines brothas gonna be another warm spell this week good luck to all.
  5. What was the smallie caught on? How slow of a presentation what kind of cover structure and water depth? Nice fish though.
  6. Quarter mile pond is a killer spot. There's some big ones In there buried up in those weeds. Spot Pond is a gold mine too because of the no access. Back in the day like the 70s my uncle was on a committee that controlled the drainage flow in spot pond at the island in the middle people used to actually box out there almost like a fight club.
  7. Whelp one more work day and the weekend is here. Temps gonna be in the upper 60s hitting 70s. Water temp last I checked was mid 40s some places low 50s and I know the big bass will be hungry my 2 tactics will most likely be a 1/2oz jig with a rage craw trailer and this hog slayer of a bait courtesy of TW. See you all out on he water tight lines brothahs
  8. Spot Pond in Stoneham is good. If you walk the trails you'll come upon a spot my buddy cut out and made a beach area it's good right at night in the summer. Can't bring a boat on spot but you can rent there canoes "personally I wouldn't 30 bucks an hour" also there is a spot in Stoneham walk through the woods kinda place you can catch some pretty big ones seen people pull 5s out of there PM me and I'll send you the location. Another area if you make it to the city is the Charles River. Very good fishing. The red pin is my buddy's spot he cleared purple is where you park. Purple on dikes pond is where you park there's a little dirt entrance cast big swimbaits or jigs in there also frogs right at dusk in the summer.
  9. Lol we'll you do make a point
  10. Looking at this new pond I'm gonna try out it says it's a designated trout pond, but I figure that with it being stocked with trout that the bass would have a healthy forage and be giant. My question is how can I know if there are bass in there?
  11. A buddy of mine throws them a lot he says there a lot better then the yum money minnows. So I figured Id give them a shot. I really wanna cast a hudd though that slow tail action instead of the thumper probably get on some pigs this year. What kinda reel just a normal size low profile? Or something bigger like a Cardiff style reel.
  12. I'm all about that jig life too swim jigs especially, how big of a Huddleston you throwing on that rod? I'm fishing the 4.8 in with a 3/0 Gamakatzu swimbait hook I think the weight was 3/16 it does the job, but I went and just picked up 3 packs of basstrix swimbaits in 6in and 7in sizes with 5/0-6/0 swimbait hooks see if I can get on a swimbait bite.
  13. Also can't go wrong with dragging a jig slow just. Here's a good article describing the process I like the fact he covers that you should be dragging the jig on the bottom where is opposed to the summer where pitching and flipping is the name of the game casting and dragging is the technique in the winter. https://www.bassmaster.com/tips/jigs-take-chill-out-winter
  14. The Keitechs are BOSSSSSSS they catch sloppy pigs of all kinds. Wish they would carry them at retail stores so I could pick up more as I tend to get the baits torn up a lot. Also looking into upping the size of the swimbaits I throw not Hudd size but somewhere along the 1/2oz-1oz size the keitechs are nice but I feel as though I need something with a little bit more profile to cover a lot more water. Would love to get into throwing hudds and all but I just don't have the funds for the gear although I thought about just using a big saltwater rod and a BPS pro qualifier there on sale right now for 65 bucks. Any thoughts?
  15. Also Chiming into the swimbaits topic. I personally just got into swimbaiting last year, my favorites being the keitech fat swing impact shad and the yum money minnow. Now I know these aren't the biggest you can buy, but I haven't had to money to upgrade to the bigger ones, but the concept still applies if you cast your swimbait out just covering a lot of water and slowly reel it back im talking like 1 crank per second really slow it down even slower than that possibly you'll get on some fish. This series of videos covers it pretty well with the swimbaits in the cold water temps just goes to show they can be caught. That's the technique I use to cover water another thing i'll do this time of year is throw a jig and drag it near any structure real slow. Catching on? Slow is the name of the game even in 40 degree water temps the slower the better. Heres the video on the swimbaits
  16. Another question I have I want to get into fishing the bigger ones. I wanna get a cheap setup to get into it roughly cost 100-150 bucks for the whole rig what would you recommend
  17. Recently I have been doing a lot more swim bait fishing this year. My preferred swimbaits are the 5in keitech swing impact shad and the Storm wild eye perch colored ones in 4in size. Now I usually fish a lot of T rigs and jigs frogs C rigs Senkos all slow type fishing. This year I wanna increase my reaction style bite to cover more water and maybe save some time on the water when locating fish. I normally don't fish crankbaits that much, but was wondering do you think swimbaits are just as effective as say a crank bait for covering water or even better in some cases?
  18. Hey guys I have my own property up in NH about 3 acres it's pretty thick woods no fields or anything. If I was to put out some bait or food at a specific area that I would sit at too hunt them what should I put out? I don't wanna plant anything I just wanna throw piles of stuff out for them to eat such as apples as an example. What would be my best bet?
  19. Went out tonight and the bite was on caught about 6 of these bad boys all around 2-2.25 lbs biggest being 2.3. Hey I'll take it for this time of year. All caught on a KVD swim jig with grass pig trailer in black and blue just swam it back real slow with a stop Here and there. They would just swallow umm. Now if I could only get on some size atleast a 4lber would be good.
  20. Went out today for 30 minutes before the wind was too strong for my canoe almost capsized me, but on a good note I caught a fish there out there boys just gotta drag the jig slow and you'll get on umm.
  21. There's always a chunky one in that corner. Also by that beaver d**n and in the middle. Glad people catching fish there though means there are big ones still in there.
  22. Just throw one of these bad boys out fish it real slow and bump it off everything. Hold on hogs will come.
  23. It's pretty dried up there. That pond is like a farm pond.
  24. Type in 1548-1564 Madeline Ave, Port Orange FL. I found this spot when I was there the beginning of March caught a bunch of 2lb bass on Keitech swim-baits in Black, It's a nice spot you just pull right off Madeline Ave and its right there you can walk around where I caught them was if you walk down the trail a little ways after you come around the bend there's some reeds right there just reeling the bait in slow with a couple twitches they slammed them. A guy told me there's some big ones in there I wanted to try it at night, but where boots could be snakes.
  25. Drag it on the bottom. Usually I'll use a 1/2 oz Denny Bauer structure jig with a rage craw trailer, but this time of the year when the water is still pretty cold I would put a uncle josh pork frog or a zoom chunk. Basically slow that ****er down even if you gotta dead stick it the slower the better find the deepest structure you can or up where the sun hits first, rocks are wood are good as we'll because they hold heat we'll. the way I fish it is I cast it out wait till it hits the bottom then moving the rod slowly to the side and I mean slow really bumping into everything that's down there. If I hit something rock tree grass etc I'll stop it and let it sit for a bit. Also a. Soft jerk bait such as a fluke or sluggo with a 1/4oz jig head fished with slow twitches will work as we'll. just my 2 cents I'll credit my post to you cause maines the one who told me about the pork frog haha funny posted it at the exact time O.o
