  1. Went out today for a bit on Pleasant Pond in Frances town. Been hearing guys taking 6-7lbers out of there recently and a buddy of mine showed me a pic of his 7lber he caught outta there a few weeks ago. Didn't last very long on there the wind was brutal and it was getting unsafe for me in the canoe also I forgot my anchor.... which was a bummer. Anyways caught a couple small bass in the shallows nothing picture worthy. Gonna try tomorrow after work see if I can get on a hog.
  2. Now that right there is what yea call a sloppy pig. Nice job buddy
  3. Went out today got on some decent sized ones I caught the biggest on a black and blue jig with a rage craw trailer. Good way to celebrate my birthday

  5. Thanks for the tips. I wouldn't say it's unsafe winds just bottom contact and keeping the boat in position is a pain. I'll have to start throwing reaction baits more I usually never do just because I haven't had any luck, but I'll give it a shot.
  6. Quick question maybe some of you can help. Recently I have been noticing I've been cutting myself short by not being able to fish in the wind. I usually fish in the morning and at dusk because of this problem also in rainy days when the water will stay calm. I just can't seem to get the hang of it and I always get frustrated when windy days occur. I would like to start fishing longer days and also during midday, but the wind sometimes throws me around to much. I usually fish Texas rigs almost exclusively. And the sense of feel with them drops tremendously during a windy day. Anyone got any advice as to how to overcome this? Also I fish out of a small v hull with a 6 horse power motor.
  7. Went out today at a local pond near my house with a buddy of mine. Caught 2 pickerel and he caught a decent sized bass nothing to write home about, but it was better than being skunked that's for sure. Here's a pic of the bass
  8. So got some spare time today sucks I don't have my canoe down in Milford it's up at my camp. Anyone got any places I could fish from shore within 25-30 mins from Milford?
  9. Haven't really tried the other one do to it's just me carrying the canoe so it's a little far.
  10. A few times here and there will be going there most likely this weekend. The beaver was coming within a foot of my canoe being quite the pain. The last time I was there.
  11. Went out at 4:30am this morning for a few hours before work and got on the fish right off the bat. Caught 3 smallies on Shane's old faithful lure the rage craw in green pumpkin color Texas rigged. Then after the smallie action decided to switch over to targeting some largemouth my dad caught a 3lb largemouth on a spro frog on some lily pads. All in all even if the work day goes bad still had a good day here's the pictures of the fish
  12. Got out today in the rain fishing was great caught 4 in 3 hours. They mostly went after Texas rig worms pulled through heavy weeds in about 8 ft of water. All in all good day even if it was raining was better than not doing anything. Here's a pic of one of my dad's catches.
  13. Hmmm I'll have to check this weekend to see for any buoys. Hopefully get on some good fish been tough fishing up there. Gotta find some new honey holes
  14. What will the buoys look like specifically? Like are they a certain color that makes them different from just normal buoys? My plan this weekend is to get down with my snorkel and mask and do some spot investigating find some hidden weed patches rock piles anything. Gonna spend a whole day doing that just mapping out the whole lake. Gives me a little more insight to what's hidden in the lake yea know.
  15. So I've just learned that they will be putting in a weed killer for the milfoil problem on Northwood Lake this year. Anyone have any insight as to how this may affect the fishery? I hope it doesn't kill off all the fish.
  16. Been fishing Northwood Lake pretty much exclusively these past weeks just because of the convience of my boat and camp being right there, but what I have noticed is the lake gets hit so hard by so many anglers every week that even my hide away spots out in open water seem to he not producing as well as they used too. This week gonna really put in some work on some smaller bodies of water with very little boat access up in the Northwood area gonna see if I can catch a hog.
  17. Went out this morning on Northwood Lake. Got on a good smallie bite for the first hour or 2 caught 4 smallies all in the 1lb range off a rocky ledge. All fish caught on black tubes. Also caught 2 decent sized pickerels. Hopefully venturing out today with the boat to some new waters try to get a big bite going. Here's a picture of 1 of the smallies
  18. Went out tonight caught about 5 smallies the bite was on nothing to big, but it was fun none the less. This fish was about the biggest.
  19. I'll be out there. finally got some time off from work gonna go see if Northwood Lake has picked up yet. Water temps were cold a week ago hoping the warm temperature brings out some activity. Lake gets a lot and I mean a lot of pressure. Will see how it goes either way fish or no fish still better than sitting at home.
  20. It's a nice pond fish a black blue jig with rage craw trailer towards the middle the fish will be also to the right of where you launch. If you look at my gallery the pic of the 4lb bass that my girlfriend is holding up is from that pond. There are some giants in there gotta fish towards the middle of that place off the shore you'll get on them.
  21. Be up in Northwood this weekend gonna fish Northwood lake the first 2 days then might head over to jeness pond on the third day. Hoping to get on them gonna be a warm weekend
