  1. I bought my 1st spool of Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra-soft a few days ago, going on spinning reel, so will be finding out how good the stuff works. Im going from braid to flouro though on just this one reel.
  2. I throw 1/8oz jigs easy with a $70 Pinnacle bc w/ 6'6" Med F rod 20# PowerPro. The reel is 8 years old even, so shouldnt need to break the bank getting a set-up for this weight.
  3. St Croix Avid 8' Med Lt Moderate action w/Shimano Stradic FI 1000 10/2PowerPro
  4. Does anybody here think a football player would care if we lost our job? Why worry about them crying over more millions. If there was never another football game my life wouldnt change. When that basketball player making 10million/y wouldnt play anymore on a new offer for 12million cause he siad "I got to feed my family" REALLY??
  5. Well if he is left broke after the 20% down he doesnt need to be buying that 2nd home then. Sound like the bank did the correct thing. We dont know how much he owes on the 1st house payment per month, his income, if he has other dept but the bank must and made the call. Just from the highlighted statement have to agree with bank. Last score of mine I checked was 830 I could put %30 on a 300K house but the monthly payment and property taxes for another house would bankrupt me. Prop taxes on 300K here is $9000/y
  6. Righty Tighty-Lefty Loosy??? I just got the 6720 2 days ago and made it right hand retrieve but dont know if the 6730 is the same.
  7. The Excursion is 3feel longer and 10inches wider this will aid in the stability. It seems to have good interior room as well. Two people in the 9' Sevylor will be cramped I think. It wouldnt be difficult to make your own floor, like you mentioned 1/2" plywood cut/sand/smooth the edges, paint your set. A Saturday project. From the pictures I looked at the Excursion would have nice floor space wide long you should be able to stand easily. For sure get a trolling motor-Right? Here is a pic of my boat standing is not an issue very stable I'm about avg size 6'1" #225.
  8. I have 3-6 years on various reels using PP. Like mentioned I flip it each year too and my actual fishing is from May-Mid OCT.
  9. Pflueger Supreme XT on sale for $79 at Gander Mountain save $50-- in store only. I got one but havent used it yet. This may be near you I searched greenville this and another store came up. http://gandermountain.shoplocal.com/gandermountain/Default.aspx?action=browsepagedetail&storeid=2542415&rapid=1117992&pagenumber=3&listingid=-2084590264
  10. Ive been more pleased with my 8yo $70 Pinnacle BC than I have my 3yo $150 Shimano Stradic spinning reel of which Ive had 2. Returned the fist Stradic after 2 weeks cause it made a noticable whirring noise as the spool spun arond. Now this Stradic I have has a rough spot in the 4o'clock position of retrieve and starting to whir a little. It needs to be serviced but my Pinnacle is fine smooth and quiet.
  11. I dont switch never have. Im left-handed throw with left reel with right hand on bc & spinning reels as well.
  12. What about Pinnacle reels? I bought a $70 Pinnacle baitcaster in 2003 and still use it as my main bc reel. This reel has been great never an issue with it hundreds of hours of use. Throw 1/8oz jigs no problems. I would look into getting another just cant find a place around me that sells the better Pinnacle reels.
  13. Braid actually works quite well. Ive used spincasters and underspin reels with PP for years. The biggest issue was "new" braid the coating would be left on the line pick-up and need cleaning. Once the coating had worn a bit just fine plus I sprayed a bit of reelmagic on and then it worked great. I had an older Daiwa goldcast spincaster oh 5yrs used PP on that but needed a little weight like 1/4oz or so to cast well . It wouldnt throw 1/16oz jigs. The Daiwa goldcast underspin I have the spring for the pin wears not the pin itseft this over like 2 seasons of use. This isnt a line issue but a reel quality issue. I have a Pflueger 1806 underspin that I feel is much better than the goldcast in durability and not becoming "loose" as the goldcast has. The pins close and stay closed this after 4yrs. The zebco33 spincast braid is fine. The the spring in that wears as well needing to be tighened a bit so pins dont stick out catching the line on a toss this happen with Trilene XL as well so not a line issue. AND I got my son an UL uglystik combo with underspin and put braid on that it works fine. None of the pins on any of these reels have been worn by braid I woulnt go back to mono at all. I actually did try for abot 1 week and the memory line twists #8 XL were awful ripped it off and put PP back on. I use either 8/1 or 10/2 on these reels.
  14. here a vid of one, if I did it right??? I have an inflatable boat and like it very very much. Mine is a little bit thicker material but havent had any issues.
  15. some features that you might look for are shock resistant, waterproof, wide angle 28mm or wider. HD video is normal now. I basically havent touched my camcorder since I got my camera w/video. I know nothing about this but a quick search found this http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/TX10/TX10A.HTM
  16. Great fish there awesome.
  17. Here is a bit on cheap vs expensive 9 myths http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/18317378/ns/today-today_fashion_and_beauty/
  18. I would be more apt to spend $400-$500 to get a nitro truck than say a $400 rod or reel. Now a good lure is going to cost the same as a couple susp-arms.
  19. Here are a couple of mine
  20. This left on a rope as well same lake. I mentioned in another post about the lack of C&R in this area. But its legal.
  21. Well its not the norm everywhere. Up here where Im at my circle of people that I know Im the only one that C&R. They think Im crazy and waisting my time for not keeping anything, even my wife. If they catch it they keep it. I see lots and lots of fish kept out of little local lakes/ponds here.
  22. Ive used 10/2 PP on my 2 baitcasters for years without issues. I throw down to 1/8oz jigs. I dont catch big big fish so that might make the difference. My avg size is only 15-16 inch bass
  23. Well I have to say no its not easier for me. 24 years ago I had my best day fishing ever nothing has come close since . Outside of Topeka Kansas my Uncle's farm pond I caught one 17"-19" bass after another every cast with just a chum-n-minnow little spinnerbait and $20 spinning reel. I have 20yo reels that still get used not often but they still in good shape, lures if used in the right spot Im sure would catch fish just dont use them cause they are old and would hate to lose one. One thought is it is more difficult today to catch based on the number of people to compete with and waters being over-fished. All the top equipment wont catch fish if there arent any to catch.
