  1. Ive tried it for a while and wouldnt say its worth the price, its good, but should be more arond $10. The knot strength and break point limit the value a bit. Like #6 rated line is just that #6 no more. To me line management and light bait throwing distance is where the line has its strenght.
  2. The rated range on this rod is like what you want but I know nothing about it just give you info. The Moderate-Fast action might give a little boost to the lighter stuff. MOJO BASS MBC711HMF Flippin' 7'11" H Mod. Fast, 1pc, 14 - 30#, 1/2 - 2oz, 5.3 $ 130
  3. Well at least they fit you they were too small for me
  4. I vote for Pflooger President I have one the little 6720Micro reel it works great. The new model is 6920 and like a 1/2oz lighter (5.9oz) might get another one. The drag on mine is fine and have caught nice 3lb cats and 2lb bass no problem. I have it on a St Croix Premier 4'6" UL Mod rod. Its smoother and quieter from day one than my 3 Stradics Ive had. Its a great little reel.
  5. I too just got back from the kitchen with some pizza and uhh done. What a let down entertainment wise this was. This might make FOX think again about regular showings or at least give us more fights per program. Cain looked a bit flabby to me but I havent see him much.
  6. These were close to my first thought: Any person that is a diehard fluoro user and feels fish worry about line visability surely wont use this; or will they? Any water with more than 3' clarity and the fish will never bite due to the rig being so easy to see connected directly to the lure.
  7. PowerPro can be had in 5# & 8#. I have 8# PP on a Stradic 1000 and even smaller Pflueger Micro President. I get pretty good distance with say a little Strike King Bitsy Minnow. Too Nanofil works great as far as line management goes and distance of light presentations I have 6# on the spare spools of mentioned reels. Havent tried 4# XL but have 6# and only use it now for backing. You say for occasional bass so if like 75% gills and 25% bass the Nanofil I think would be a very good choice.
  8. Well it might depend on the lure used. Like for me and a SPRO Frog I get only 20% hook-up I miss a lot. With SENKO bite I get almost all bites so 90% or so. With jigs I would say 50-60% of the bites.
  9. Nice review I have a couple questions How is the feel of the quick flip- does it wiggle at all-solid seem like it will last? And what pressure to press the button light -heavy? What are pro-cons of dual system? From site--"Combined magnetic and centrifugal anti-backlash system" Thanks It is a shame though that in the Chicagoland area I cant find a place that sells them and emails to Pinnacle are fruitless but I still would like one.
  10. Im not good with cranks. Once I fished 4 1/2hrs not a bite on cranks switched to senko and caught 4 in 35 minutes. Ill deadstick a senko with one rig and toss a crank on another and get bit on the senko while nothing on the crank.
  11. Ive returned a Shimano Stradic got my money back and exchanged one Stradic for another Stradic no issues.
  12. Have you read how light a lure it can cast? Like in the Strike King Bitsy Minnow range slighly under 1/8oz? Ive been eyeing it for my 3.4oz Smoke rod

  14. This thread got me looking again and I found polarized glasses that are CLEAR but I thought(from other readings) polarized lenes had to be tinted to some degree. Here example http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/511-tactical-eagle-eyewear-with-clear-polarized-lenses.aspx?a=541810 If they work this should be good for night/protection use?
  15. Spinning just use tape and BC tie into holes on spool never been lucky enough to get a hook-up that spooled me.
  16. Here a page to check lots of lens tents with description of them and simulation in different condition environments. In the "polarized" section AMBER for flat to medium light and contrast. I use amber tint for rain-cloudy-evenings but not oakleys http://www.oakley.com/innovation/optical-superiority/lens-tints
  17. Yeah I use it at a little lake where a GOOD bass is 16" & small cats 2#-3# rarely in 10+yrs have I caught bigger.
  18. Thanks for the input, looks like its send it to get a good cleaning and dont worry about the upgrades/polish gears stuff.
  19. My best outing with senkos this year was with Nano#6. Lake has around 15' visability and only 22-25' deep. In 10fow very clear to bottom I can see senko 40 feet away or so and watch bass take senko so line vis didnt seem to matter tnen. Nor does it seem to matter much with PP/nightcrawler in same water. BUT I lost a fish in weeds. I was a bit surprised really I was not yanking but steady pull and still the line or knot gave not sure, I could feel the weeds and fish moving and just snap. With 8#power pro fish has got in weeds and steady pull brings in fish large weed clump and all. So some confidence has been lost and now NANO is on the bluegill set-up and PP back for bass. Offers great manageability on spinning reels no twists coils and I think the lighter the lure the better the added distance. On heavier lures distance seems same to me compared to 8#PP.
  20. Mine "works" fine but since I got some Pfluegers it just seems like something isnt up to snuff. Fishing SupremeXT Stradic side-by-side Im thinking to myself why doesnt my Stradic feel like my SupremeXT.
  21. I went to CHROME cause ESPN3 works great with it not so much IE. Now lots of sports to watch.
  22. AWESOME CATCHES!!! 20MPH winds or more if you catching'em like that keep on fishing.
  23. I have Stradic 1000FI Any here have their Stradics upgraded or supertuned? Did you like the outcome? Recommendations? Im looking at the schematic here and see there are a number of gears(pinion, drive, wormshaft, idle) that could be polished but wondering if it would do any good. I know I wont get more distance but Im looking for quieter and much smoother feel. I see there is a rotor ring could that be replaced with a bearing or polished for smoother rotation? The rotor on my reel has always had a whirrrr to it. Returned 2 others cause of whir but just live with the sound this one makes. Im not going to do this myself but some sites I went to just mention baitcasters, not spinning, for supertuning. Thanks
  24. What is wrong with a better tool to get the job completed? If braid works use it. If a hacksaw works better than a file to cut pipe why use the file. What you mention is like a technique called "deadsticking" Ive had this happen with senko, throw it out let it set and on another set-up fish with a jig and bingo the senko rig gets bit drop the jig set-up and reel in the senko fish. So it might not have been your braid but your technique of letting the bait set for a period. Your "Higher Floor" I think is relevent with like rods where a $200+ rod is much better than a $50 rod and gives much better feedback as to what the lure is doing. I say this cause with me I went from $50 rods jumped to $200 rods and what a huge difference, it liked opened a new world to the way I experience fishing and I have no doubt it has caught me more fish. On line though the prices are much closer so if you want braid $10 can get that or real good mono or a little more for good fluoro. They each have attributes that may be beneficial at a given outing.
