  1. Yep I agree its a nice little scale. I weighed a rod with Rapala scale then on my lab's digital scale at work difference was just .073oz.
  2. All mine shows is "view result"
  3. Looking for the "new" CarbonLite was the reason I was on the site then happened to see the Curado.sale.
  4. Havent seen this posted so sorry if Im repeting it. BPS has the CU50E for $99.97 & FREE Shippping I just ordered one. Hope it is as good as all say it is. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__10151_-1_10051_102799
  5. Whoa, I was nearly set on getting the Abu MGX (going for lightness) but this at only .5oz more but $220 less put the brakes on that. Will definately follow this for more info. Ive read good things in the past about the Carbonlites
  6. Thanks for the comments. I just got home from work(looong day) I did get to weigh the rod it is 4.15oz---117.78g I really would like to get out and use it a bit more but doesnt look like that will happen. When I did use it yesterday water started freezing on the line. McAlpine $30 well spent Its almost a year ago I got the Premier for $24 at DSG. Its nice to get deals.
  7. You could use braid on all reels, I do. I have one spinning reel with Nanofil and its very nice line management wise. Go with a higher test like 8# on your MED reel cause 8# is just that no more unlike with braid.
  8. CAMO STIX I saw this rod on sale at the Cabelas website for $30, regular price $130 so thought why not I ordered it. First though props to Cabelas I ordered Sunday 5:30pm and the rod arrived today 11:00am not bad at all considering I was told on phone it would arrive by the 13th, well it did. GREAT Now the rod I bought the Mossy Oak Break Up pattern 7' Med power. Looks is of course the 1st thing that is noticed and it does look neat to me and my son thinks its awesome. All but the cork is covered by the pattern guides covered too. The cork is OK nice mostly smooth with just a few pits but feels good. I compared it to my 2 StCroix Premier rod's cork and very close I would say. In hand it has tip-heaviness and I measured it at 10 1/2" balance fron center of reelseat. With my reel on, a Pinnacle Deadbolt Classic, the balance went to middle of foregrip (1 1/2" in front of reel). The reel I think weighs around 8.5ozs. The rod feels somewhat light but no actual weight for it yet will take to work and weigh it. It is a Medium power with fast action 8-17# line, 1/4-5/8oz lure. I did go out and fish with it for about 1/2hr. I used senko & 1/8 jig/baby craw and noticed the tip seems a bit light was flexing more so than my Smoke rod that is Med Fast. The light tip loaded fine and jig distance was adequate with average effort 70' or so. Sensitivity; I took the CAMO STIX along with my 6'6"Premier and the lures mentioned above fish them side by side and not really much difference. I could tell when I touch rocks on the bottom when slowly dragging jig and feel the senko weight while hopping it a bit. I did toss jig in front yard and from grass to mulch could tell the difference of the bumpy grass to little chunks of wood Im like "oh, there we go" I didnt think I would noticed the feel texture difference. Another thing I noticed was the quietness of 20# PowerPro through the guides its like silent. I think it might be due to the camo coating on the guides. Overall for $30 I think I got a good deal. Here some pics
  9. Thats what he should have emphasized or under 1/2 pound just thought it odd to descrbe it in such a way.
  10. Im SORRY those are casting Im taking a shot at one though just ordered.
  11. 14. Ive used Sectet Weapon Lures spinnerbaits for a few years now and they are very nice. They rated a 9.0 on tackletour. No swivel to go bad.
  15. OK thanks Salmoides for that info. In that video he mentions it weighs under a pound?? uhh
  16. Or a PFLUEGER in 30 size. oh here check this its like one you linked to Daiwa Fuego reg $300 can get it for $159 2500 size http://www.cabelas.com/product/Bargain-Cave/Fishing/Reels%7C/pc/105591780/c/105740280/sc/105742980/Cabelas-50th-Anniversary-Daiwa-TD-Fuego174-Spinning-Reel/1159084.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fbargain-cave-fishing-reels%2F_%2FN-1102770%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105742980%3FWTz_l%3DSEO%253Bcat105591780%253Bcat105740280&WTz_l=SEO%3Bcat105591780%3Bcat105740280%3Bcat105742980
  17. Ive been wanting one for my 7'Smoke rod for an 8.8oz set-up. No stores locally have them yet so havent handle one. Is it quiet operation or any whines at all? post pics if you can that would be nice.
  18. Ill chime in with the President 30 as well. I have the small 20 size and it holds its own with 2- 2 1/2# bass and 3# channel cats. I have a Supreme XT 30 and its boarderline too big for my ML Avid so if the 30 is a bit smaller should be just fine.
  19. Look for wide-angle lens as well like 24-28mm.
  20. Here is an article to read http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/electronic_interference.html
  21. Here try this-- two o-rings crossed over each other put hook through the overlap point but not into the senko. Ive caught 12 bass on one senko and 8-9 bass many times this way. Grainger or Fastenal have 0-rings $3 per 100
  22. SKBM rating 3/32 = .09375 All 6 of the ones I have are lighter around .082-.086oz like 1/12oz. On my bc and 7' MF Smoke rod I get 35-40' but lots of thumbing. Spinning Ive use small Pflueger Presidents the 20 size on a 4'6" ul St croix Premier & 8'ML Mod Avid with Stradic 1000. My co-worker has the Spirex 2500 dont know the rod and the Bitsy minnow works well with but always seems to have bail issues yet keeps buying another Spirex like 5 now. So check the Pflueger Presidents they are around $50-$60 and very nice reels.
  23. Yes, my buddy caught this one with gill. He had a gill on then on another pole caught a catfish so left gill in water til he landed the cat. He then started to bring in the gill when this guy hit.
  24. Ive tried it for a while and wouldnt say its worth the price, its good, but should be more arond $10. The knot strength and break point limit the value a bit. Like #6 rated line is just that #6 no more. To me line management and light bait throwing distance is where the line has its strenght.
