  1. I got out to turtle pond about 4 - 5:15 , not a single bite today
  2. no luck for me this past week. nothing at bensons , nothing at the gatehouse dam area , nothing in the pennichuck. anyone else try
  3. comong from nashua on route 111 i take a right at burger king intersection onto kimball hill road . a few hundred feet down the road is a right with an open gate. park right there after you go thru the gate into the dirt parking lot. it is actually the animal farm old parking lot or part of it anyway the is another parking lot for handicap only a little further up the road all paved. have fun save the big ones for me. let me know how you did if you go
  4. yes , just walk right in. go right and right you will see swan pond on the left. i have caught fish at both ends and all thru the middle. also at the far end under the fence if your small enough to get thru i had some good hits in there playing with rubber worms but i wasnt able to hook anything wed morning.
  5. It has been 2 weeks since i have been over at the pennichuck. spent sunday afternoon at bensons ponds in hudson and the sunday before at the dam /gatehouse behind stellos the last 2 wed afternoons i have had good luck from shore at turtle pond in loudon the pennichuck has been great for me before that especially as it starts to get dark throwing the black jitterbug and walking it in at a very slow but steady pace. i typically stay about a 1/2 hour after i cannot see anymore. these days thats about 6:30 - 8pm. Mornings have also been ok but not as good as night time. In the morning i have been throwing a pop-r i painted red which is something an old timer told me to try. The red seem like it has also been better for pickerel.
  6. We , (myself and my 11 yr old) have had great luck all season (august was slow) in most of the pennichuck area water. The bridge directly on Tinker road, just before the 4 corner intersection as well as taking a right after the bridge and going down the road a bit and walking thru the woods. I have been fishing there a lot this year and have also been taking my son to the same places my dad took me. also to the right where they are doing construction near the bridge that goes over the hwy. right now its easy to walk that complete area. Most of my fish i have caught using top water stuff, especially a black jitterbug. I started trying to use rubber worms and lizards this year and caught some fish with them, but i am finding them tough to fish with. Patience i do not always have but i am trying. Green and black 4 inch lizards is what i have been using. also across the bridge from the dam directly in the middle of the weeds and pads on both sides. i have learned to use braided line thru these pads and a weedless jitterbug or floating lizard. I am no expert ACTUALLY VERY very from from it i only started fishing again this year after many years of not. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT A REAL LOT from the other guys on this website. I only know what has been working for me this year and i have been playing with a lot of the stuff i learned. I also relearned i really love fishing top water. I have never had anyone say anything to us about fishing in any of these areas. Even walking down those roads with fishing poles past the houses. Also the new part they paved some new roads straight thru the 4 way intersection staying on tinker, there is some good access there now to the left down the dirt and now paved roads going right to the water, although next year that access may be gone with the new houses sure wish i could wade or put a canoe in there.
  7. bensons park add to that a 20inch pickerel and several 10 - 12 inch ones
  8. the best of the season off of tinker road. unfortunately had no scale
  9. pike hmmmm good question . i think i will be checking in for the answer too. hopefully no rain tomorrow morning. i want to put the boat in the river
  10. For any of you guys that put away your bigger boats. or dont have one. My canoe 12 ft (no motor) and 12 foot jon boat electric or gas 4 hp are available most days with or without trailer. It spent a lot of time in the back of my pick up. I live in Nashua off of exit 6. My cell # 603 860 0472
  11. i had the canoe out this morning for A VERY COOL trip into the nashua river 6 am to 8 am before i rushed to work. a couple small largemouths. hopefully the weather will stay no cooler than this thru the weekend.
  12. went out tonight to the dam again, right as darkness was falling. 6pm - 7:15pm 4 small smallmouth off of the small jitterbug in the hour or so.
  13. i just returned home from the stellos dam/nashua river entrance. 7 trailers and 4 other trucks, as well as 4 guys from shore. that was at 7 am. I left about 9 , not one fish for any of us from shore. Hopefully the boaters are having better luck. Shane , thanks for the photobucket tip my 17 yr old is going to help me get some pics sized so i can post them. Then he is going to adjust my camera back to where it was before i screwed it up.
  14. did any of you guys make it out ? lots of boats this morning at the nashua river entrance behind stellos atleast 7 trucks with trailers 3 or 4 more with no trailers
  15. managed to get out to turtle pond sunday afternoon for a hour or so from the shore. hit onto a nice 4 pounder in the weeds and a few 1 pounders. also a 23 inch pickerel who hit it 3 feet in front of me in 6 inchs of water . i jumped highter than he did. the teeth were huge. my camera for some reason is now taking pictures too large to post (150kb max size) i need to find someone to help me remedy that so i can post some of these pics
  16. thank you i ordered a new diawa goldcast and a zebco 33 using my gift card from basspro i got as a gift
  17. made it out to the gate house/ dam at the nashua river this morning from 7am till about 8:30am. 2 other guys were there already. 1 little kibby till about 8am then all of a sudden they started hitting. I bounced around from rubber lizards, wacky worms and topwater hula poppers and jitterbugs. First topwater hit a little after 8am on the popper then 4 lmb in 15 minutes on the popper all about 1 1/2 lb. Then it just stopped.
  18. I am looking for a new closed face reel. My two 20+ yr old abu garcias are on borrowed time. I fish mostly for smb and lmb which also means lots of pickerel typicaly i use 12 lb test mono on one and braided on the other looking for input. i read reviews at bass pro and cabelas , seems like they are all over the place. I have a couple open face reels that i use also but i love the simplicity of my old abu garcias. Are the new ones as good? I also see the diawa and zebco closed face reels for short $
  19. troutguy i am kind of new but i am learning. i am from nashua, i have a small jon boat with a trailer but i do a lot of shore fishing because of time constraints. 1/2 to 1 hour then have to go. wed afternoons i get up to concord area with my boys for 3 or so hours and use my boat then , as well as sunday mornings. i have had good luck all around the shore at mill pond. and have had some luck fishing in the canal also. lots of it can be walked. nothing big but they are bass. off of main dunstable theres a small pond you can walk to. it is across from yudicki field , lots of black crappie (some big ones) as well as pickerel. i see a bunch of people always fishing into the nashua river over near the boat launch and into the weeds and pads behind stellos, i never seem to have much luck there but everyone else does. also at the dam and gate house, lots of hard hitting smallmouth, again nothing too big but i am sure they are there. also the merrimack river theres a bunch of shore spots especially around the bridges most of it can be walked very easy
  20. ok thats makes some sense. i found out it was reclaimed but didnt know what it meant. i found out it is a reclaimed trout pond. so there must be trout on there. now i am trying to find out some restrictions it may have? can i use a motor? fly fishing only ? etc... thank you
  21. shane what is a snot rocket? never heard that before where is that at ?
