  1. NICE , my son loves catching those pout
  2. I am looking for info on fish finders, depth finder , fish tv , sonar finders. I see so many different things out there. I am thinking of one for my 12 ft boat. do they point sideways or just down? how far can you see? can you actually see fish moving? how hard are they to use? brands?
  3. I cant fish on saturdays with work all day. but just my 2 cents. lots of fish at Pawtuckaway and well enough room for parking and lots of room for boats on the water. i got back into fishing last year (kids) 12+ years ago and for 15 years before that this place was great. i assume it still is.
  4. Who can give me an idea of directions? My GPS doesnt recognize stumpfield
  5. Troutguy ,did you make it to stellos?
  6. I saw another writing to start a new thread before it crashes . So i guess here it is? I am hoping to get on the Merrimack river tomorrow. I saw Shane had some nice ones last wed. Definatly got the itch.
  7. SAWEEET FISH Thats one most of us in New England only get to dream about. Many of us will never get a largemouth that big. Must of been a nice feeling. Now i really cant wait.
  8. Wierd to find a Weird Al comment here. But i bet i am not the only one
  9. i did some looking too ice everywhere except the merr river and parts of the nashua river the stellos area is still completly covered
  10. Just received 2 new diawa goldcast spincasters. (for the kids for christmas) the kids love to catch big pickerel We fish lots of rocky areas and stumpy area and lots of weeds later in the season. I am on the hunt for my first 7 lb largemouth (gotta wish big here in NH) I also have 2 new Pflueger spinning reels (from the wife for christmas) what do you guys think as the best overall lines (anybrand) for the 2 different types of reels. (i typically fish 10 - 12 lb test) longest cast line for each type? least problematic for each type?
  11. anybody gone? is it mostly gear towards saltwater? or bass / trout? what would i see? its only a 45 minute drive and wife and i will have dinner out that way somewhere. will kill an afternoon of freezing temps waiting for the ice to be gone.
  12. I have a 12 ft x 36 inch wide jon boat / flat bottom with a 50 lb thrust trolling motor. it is for sale / trade. ( when i find the one i am looking for) I am looking for a wider 12 or 14 ft flat bottom jon boat, my old 10 footer and this 12 footer live in the back of my pick up. i weigh 160 and have no trouble throwing it in the water and back into the truck after duck hunting or fishing. my 2 cents worth
  13. not me , between work , shoveling , wife , kids and life in general there has not been any time. Maybe ill take a few casts at passing cars while i am shoveling the roof on the house sat and sunday. That should suprise someone? Have a rubber lizard land on the windshield while your driving down the road. Obviously just kidding.
  14. there are also several videos on you tube showing you how others are cutting up and spliting worms and lizards and other plastics lengthwise to show a little more movement kinda like a small octopus looking thing drops slower and creates more movement when dropping simply more visible for the fish to see i am no expert but it worked for me
  15. i agree with all of you. i am new to fishing with plastics ( 1 season) and i like and have had better luck with lizards and odd looking plastics rather then just worm looking things. black, dark red , and darker green
  16. Some of my friends think i am crazy to be fishing this time of year. I think they are the crazy ones sitting on their butts all day watching tv.
  17. [ch8206]7 Pound Bass on a Jerkbait www.youtube.com beauty of a fish if this was around here i would be more impressed but its down in florida. They grow them just a wee bit bigger down there. i want one of these hat cams. someone sent this to me on facebook
  18. i am ready and anxious for 2011. the waders are patched, the lines are changed, the motor is tuned. The hunting fishing lisences are paid, unfortunately the jon boat does not make a good ice breaker. other than that i am ready. anyone know of any hunting / fishing shows in the New England area
  19. Where is the power plant? I get to travel between Nashua and Loudon usually once a week could become a 1/2 hour stop along the way.
  20. http://www.eregulations.com/newhampshire/fishing/freshwater if i did that right check page 23 fishing restrictions at mines falls and jackson falls dam area if i read it right you can legally fish above the dam but not below?
  21. behind greeley not really just is place to be able to cast into the water i would try around the bridge pilings at the nashua / hudson line or if you can confirm its not illegal then the dam at stellos field the merrimack is mostly open water
  22. There should be some open water there, but i believe it is closed for fishing 250 feet from the dam. I havent been down there in a month the merrimack is open behind greeley park and easy to walk in.
  23. 1 red canoe out in mill pond yesterday not sure who or how long but it was there for atleast an hour
  24. i just flipped the jon boat upside down on the trailer, and put it where its gonna stay till spring. 4 hp gas motor is drained and in the basement and the gas has been poured in the pick up. snowblower is ready but canoe is ready for one warm wed or sunday. with some luck
  25. thank you , if the weather is decent enough i may bring the canoe out . just purchased a used depth meter thing too, will give it a try, for 25$ it seemed like it was worth it . The shore at turtle has treated me well this season . but not for the last month with all the weeds gone.
