  3. 8 lb plus largemouth, big northern pike, and a big walleye. and a big fish in the ocean, maybe a marlin type that jumps alot. caught the 5 lb smallie on my flyrod so that one is done.
  4. i have a 14 foot old town canoe about 20 yrs old. excellent condition but heavy 110lbs . I do have a wheel system for it and it works well. excellent for fishing, just heavy. I do put it in and out of my truck but it is a chore. I also have a sit inside kayak. I find the kayak tough to fish from, but very lightweight at 38 lbs. easy portable etc. I am looking for a lightweight and small canoe that i can carry. 8 ft ? 10 ft ? I am looking for manufactures, names etc. will be used mainly for fishing by 1 person the canoes i see are typically heavy and or big. i am looking for small and light. that i can carry thru the woods and over the stumps without using the wheels. Ideas?
  5. eat the turtle!!! get some frog legs to go with it. save the shells for decorations
  6. black brokentail jitterbug , 3 or 4 inch
  7. rattling big spooks ,and the new chugger spook 5 inch, the classic big popr, jitterbug in black at night, spro frog red or green in the weeds. also a couple big things that look like the popr that i get in the saltwater section at dicks sporting goods for $5.49 in black and one in silver top with whiteish bottom.
  8. our family calls them a kibbie, the kids catch them by the dozens on a small hook and earth worm or just a sunfish. they will poke at just about anything you throw in or on top of the water that is not bigger than them.
  9. I have been hitting the dark water nashua river , mostly nuclear sized pickerel for me, a few bass. Keep htose pics coming. nice job guys... anybody hit Bow Lake this year yet ?
  10. my uncle just bought a place on freese pond. i had never heard of it before. let us know how you do.
  11. My son landed into a huge fish in the Merrimack river where it meets the Contoocook river up in the Pennacook area. he managed to get it to shore but not out of the water before the line broke or was cut by teeth. We both said what a huge pickerel, biggest we had ever seen. easily over 2 feet long and huge in diameter. It was on a huge chuggin spook almost 5 inch long and we could not even see the plug in its mouth. my question is was it most likely a pike? are there pike in the Merrimack or Contoocook river? I have never seen or caught one. He was using 30 lb braided line so we are guessing either the line was cut by teeth or other abrasion and was weak or possibly the knot came out. Other than that the pickerel have been hitting everything the past 2 weeks and very few bass for us. We have fished Stumpfield, the Merrimack river and Nashua river.
  12. Shane, can i have your old style of fishing?
  13. seems like cheating to me.
  14. Well i made it about 7 am for 2 hours, 1 pickerel is all i could manage today. A good sized one. I will have my son post it later Shane , it was good meeting you.
  15. illegal in the State of NH. My buddy just got busted for using one. His license has been suspended for hunting and fishing atleast until he goes to court in July. please warn people he bought it at a local Dicks sporting goods the morning he got caught using it.
  16. I am in Boston sat night, i will be there if i can.
  17. I guess i never noticed the sign before. There have been some pretty good sized boats in there with gas motors up. When i called the State Fish and Game a few weeks ago when we were talking about it on the other thread, they showed no listings or restrictions according to their info.
  18. 4 inch brokentail black jitterbug from moon up to moon down. rarely do i ever use anything else unless the weeds are too much then i twitch a big black weedless frog or a very slow retreive rubber black popr weedless frog.
  19. Our family calls them Big Bertha
  20. Park in the parking lot at conway arena. its just to the right of the rink entrance. exit 5 w stay right and take a right at the lights oto 111w You will see the Police station on your right. take the right as if you were going into the Police station but go past it. Go straight at the stop sign into the rink parking lot the launch is on the right. a short paved ramp. Park in the rink parking lot in the center lanes if you have a trailer. You dont have to worry about the parking for the skaters there is only 1 skate that morning at 6:30am There is also a new sign this year that says trolling motors only. out in the back of Stellos stadium is also a launch to the Nashua river. You likely will see other boats going there on sunday morning I hope to be able to get there.
  21. 2 NICE SMALLMOUTH THERE !!!! WOW ... What big water is that?
  22. Found myself with an extra 15ish minutes tonight about 8 pm. Stopped at the Tinker road bridge and threw a 3 1/2 inch jitterbug. Found these 2 willing to hit it.
  23. I wish i knew your area, but i dont. I have always had good luck in the Nashua area fishing with the kids at the bridges. never any big fish but always fish to keep them entertained.
  24. I have downloaded and used google earth on my computer. is there anything better? I am basically just looking for small water in the vast New Hampshire landscape. and places where a small river may widen up and get bigger as it winds its way thru the woods. Does anyone know of anything that will work off the new 4th generation IPOD touch when it is not connected to wifi? (its an awesome toy for music and pics but no data) I do not have a phone that uses data. My cell phone is simply that , a $10 per month cell phone. I know if i upgraded to a phone with internet and data i could get what i want but at a cost of $50ish a month i wont do it.
