  1. Keel weighted rage tail craw. I find the craw to be extremely versatile. I like the rage craw or chunk is a little smaller. I have not tried the new lobster. I really like keel weighted but you can fish it any way. Thin lightweight hook with no weight for a slow drop , keel weighted or on a jig. fast or slow even trolled across. They definatly catch fish. Anything that looks like a meal. Green with Blue tints is working for me right now.in smaller darker water. I like them on these. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Jigs-Rigs/Bass-Jigs|/pc/104793480/c/104736780/sc/104203080/Strike-King-Pro-Model-Jig/702752.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-fishing-jigs-rigs-bass-jigs%2F_%2FN-1100356%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104203080%3Fpcrid%3D12987221898%26WTz_l%3DPPC%253Bcat104736780&WTz_l=PPC%3Bcat104736780%3Bcat104203080

  3. Went with a buddy for 2 hours this morning... to Sandy pond we had some good luck today with spinners and big spooks and 1 on a rage tail craw. 2 right at 5-1/2 , a bunch between 2 and 3 and 2 huge pickerel 1 over 24 inch and too thick to handle http://i1040.photobu...712948D3874.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712AAF066F1.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712AD2EBA08.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712AF4D7128.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712B3BE651B.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712B83F6BCB.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712BD32BBB8.jpg http://i1040.photobu...712B3BE651B.jpg
  4. fish and game pulled gators out of Stevens in Manchester a couple/few years ago
  5. I fished Nutts once and we caught a few on th edges. it was during the massive heat wave we had and the water was 82. We fished weeds only not the deep part in the middle. with the weather cooling off a little at night , -- i think -- the cooler weather should wake them up a little more as the water drops into the mid to lower 70s I will hit Stevens pond again but usually when i am going by there i only have an hour to fish. Maybe i will head direct to one of the bridges. Catching --big-- pickerel in the kayak is actually fun. I caught some good ones up in the Merrimack river 25 and 28 inch in Concord they take you for a nice ride. I am still looking for the big pike. that is gonna be fun.
  6. No comment on the guy, but we had our tailgates stolen from our trucks while we were out fishing. There were atleast 4 pick-ups at the ramp with no tailgates. We now make sure everything is locked up including the new tailgate with a lock , including the trailer to the to the ball and the receiver pin is locked thru the hitch. Sucks that this type of stuff happens. we know we are just a rock away from getting the window broken or lock drilled some dark morning at 4am... we try to make sure we leave nothing in the truck of value if we can.
  7. Dropped my sons kayak in there tues night. Only had 45 minutes and caught 6 fish all under 2 1/2 and all in the weeds right off the launch area. top water white mouse has been my go to this year in the weeds. Has anyone fished it much? The NH fish/game map says 17 feet max. anyone know if that 17 feet is right in the middle? i could use the old string method to test it but figured i would ask instead. Are the weeds the best area there or maybe across the other side at the 2 bridges?
  8. Has anyone heard anything? Anyone know when they treated it? if they did. How much does it screw up the fishing? Should be worth a try for an hour or 2 ?
  9. If you go right from the ramp it will take to Main street in downtown . tons of smallmouth. fish the walls all the way down to Main street . I have not had much luck past the Main street bridge but have at the bridge and all the walls all the way especially at all the buildings. some huge pickerel also. small spinners and crankbaits. i do well with a black and silver heddon flatfish. I have lost a lot of fish practicing with a ragetail craw and a ragetail chunk , keel weighted and weightless as well as a plain black worm. If you go left from the ramp fish the shore on the side of the road you just drove down. You will go around a hard right corner and the river will open up wide. Fish this area well on the sides and dont miss all the underwater grass in the middle. medium sided zara spook on top as well as spinners. there are some nice smallmouth in those weeds underwater. i have better luck casting into the current and pulling the lures with the current than i do trying to make the lure swin upstream. bring a heavy anchor. I have not found any real deep spots. if you follow the water for a bit past that it will take you to the bridge that goes over the highway at exit 6 home depot. fish that bridge well, they are there. we used my buddies 17 foot fiberglass bass boat and the 100 hp motor with no problems right down the middle most of the time. just pay attention to the trees sticking up. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to the bridge at the highway with my jon boat and 5 hp motor wide open. fish the rock area near broad street as well. you will see the rock wall it is huge. ind of behind dairy queen. lots of deer too in those woods. i see them almost everytime. if you keep following it will get rocky and the current will get fast. there is a lot of water to cover. river fishing can be tough with so much area and all of it looks good. i dont believe i have caught more than 1/2 dozen largemouth. seems to be mostly smallies in that lower part of the Nashua river. and they fight. Hope this helps a little. I have had some decent luck in the canal too. the canal is jonboat or canoe area and no gas motors in the canal. the canal has been mostly largemouth and pickerel. you can get in the canal thru mill pond at the far end by the high school or right in the millyard. i have done both but have never done it from one end to the other so i am not sure if you can go completly thru with the water being low. in the 3 years since i have started fishing again i think i have seen 1 person fishing the canal and that was with a kayak they put in at mill pond. The fish should be there
  10. http://www.cabelas.com/topwater-baits-heddon-zara-spook-1.shtml snagproof weedless white mouse ragetail craw http://www.ragetail.com/news/color-charts/rage-craw-color-selection/ candy craw so many ways to fish them if i could add a 4th black jitterbug brokentail for nights 3 1/2 inch
  11. i want him . where do i try?
  12. No gulls for me but i did catch a beaver and then there is that 48 lb turtle on the white weedless frog, have had several ducks chase those topwaters as well. Not that i have not tried, i have several lures just waiting in the tree limbs for theose gulls. Many in the Nashua river and Merrimack just a bit too high up to reach
  13. One of my buddies has starting fishing with us at Sandy pond. I think Joe is hooked now !!! We had some nice fish in a 2 hour span... http://i1040.photobu...13B091123DA.jpg http://i1040.photobu...13B0015BC54.jpg http://i1040.photobu...13AE9453DD5.jpg http://i1040.photobu...13AE005C917.jpg http://i1040.photobu...13AF25A348B.jpg http://i1040.photobu...13AD9C8C64A.jpg
  14. I am in Southern NH, Nashua and travel to Concord on a regular basis. I am looking for someone to help teach me to fish plastic worms, craws, lizards better and also to fish jigs and drop shot. I have watched tons of video and just feel like i am not getting the hang of it. I am not getting fish using them on a regular basis. Most of the bass i have been catching have been on my flatfish crank bait, a zara spook or a frog/mouse on top of heavy weeds and pads. I have caught a few on ragetail craws keel weighted and weightless. I have my 12 ft jon boat with 5 hp and troller or my canoe with trolling motor. I can fish almost any morning and will gladly get up before the sun but need to be to work by 9ish mon-sat in Nashua. Sundays i have till about 10 am. I have 4 regular fishing buddies who either use mainly topwater, swear by their spinners or dont fish plastics at all.
  15. yup , me too, as long as i can find water to fish. 1 power plant , 2 sets of water falls/dams
  16. nope , Nutts pond is behind Wendys ... deep hole up to 30 feet and some good drop offs , lots of weeds 100 % around the complete pond 10 - 15 feet from the edge and hollow under the weeds. There is another post talking about some big fish in there , 7+lbs. I did a little experimenting but only fished the edge mostly topwater weedless and buzzbait. we had 5 bass and 1 pickerel. nothing huge ... i will be going back soon to fish with plastics underwater , spinners , worms canoe or jonboat tops. no need to even think about a motor other than a small troller, simple and easy access Nutts is about 1/2 the size of Dorrs Dorrs is located exit 9 off of 93 , in Livingston park, I have not fished Dorrs Another one to try in that area is Stevens pond , its the one you can see right from 93 around exit 9 ...
  17. I go home Thankful for the wife , kids and grandson. have fun with them and wait for the next time i get to go out and relax on the water. with or without the company of one or more of the above.
  18. Perhaps my words ," Wasting time on the Internet " were not the correct words to use. just too busy with, wife , kids, grandson , work , fishing, hockey and life ... that most free time that could be used for internet has been spent trying to get sleep, Those are some nice posts with some great numbers of fish... Keep it and enjoy the precious time with the son... those memories he and you will always have... wish i could get my dad out fishing with me
  19. Spending time with the wife , kids and grandson... fishing when i can and working lots too... not wasting too much time playing on the internet.... Heres some from the Nashua river and some from the Pennichuck off Tinker road in Nashua.. some i may have posted earlier. anyone fish towers pond before? how long is the hike to get to it? worth trying? http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/4124696e.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/597d53bd.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/37e7110a.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/d1cc7fed.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/6a4e8b14.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/614837c1.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/5288AA55-10D1-408C-BF36-4D33A56C224E-17472-0000183DCF2C81CB.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/c9e46b4a.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/165515E3-92CA-481D-9B4E-53032316C261-17472-0000183DCB2EDA91.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/637e0527.jpg http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/45ea5de8.jpg
  20. have you fished it?
  21. Was a good morning fishing the shore line at mill pond. Surprised myself with those fish. The biggest one inhaled a new zara spook nocker , 4 1/2 inch long. I was looking for a big pickerel that i saw.
  22. just as easy as a heavy jig , weedless with maybe a craw trailer ? casting into the weeds and trying to get thru to the bottom with the heavy weight?
  23. Fields Grove behind Revere street easy canoe type access. With a little carry or drag. I am not sure of any other access, i fi you or find one let me know ThanKS
  24. Also someone said punching thru , like a heavy jig? ---- please explain i want to know --- rigged weedless with maybe a rage tail craw on the back end? and just drop it thru hoping its heavy enough to get thru the weeds to the bottom? I use 30 lb braid with a 25 lb mono leader and a med rod. I fish a lot of top water mice and frogs in heavy weeds. No stretch from the braid , the mono invisable and if i do manage to break the line it is usually the leader and i dont lose 15 bucks worth of line as well as a 5 - 8$ plug on the end Thank you for some awesome info
