  1. 2 big one my son and i caight up here in NH , both a little under 2 3/4 Mine was 18 1/2 , my sons 17 1/2 both were very fun to catch. Mine hit a 3 1/2inch all white jitterbug. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/trophy/2011.html i cant find the cd rom with the pics at this moment
  2. i made a wheel/axle set fom 2 used 20 inch rear bicycle tires. i popped out the bearing seats and put i 3/4 inch threaded rod 5 inches wider than my jon boat. i secured the wheels with double nuts and washers to keep them on and also covered rod between the wheels with pvp water pipe so it would spin on the threaded rod nd not did into my jon boat or canoe at all. i secure it to the canoe and jon boat with 2 tie downs. total cost under 20 bucks. i used 2 tires i picked up from the dump and bought the threaed rod, nuts ,washers and pvc pipe from aubuchon hardware. if i remember i wll post a pic. used it all season long even in soft sand. loaded with trolling motor and battery and all the gear.
  3. no largemouth for December in 2012 only the smallie. . Time to start for Jan 2013 LM and SM. Need a little warm up to open the rivers back up for the kayak or canoe. or gotta get to Bow. any other spots?
  4. Am i a die hard when i live in NH and go out in the kayak on Christmas day and then again New Years eve afternoon. The ony open water was the Merrimack and Nashua rives. Am i a diehard or just nuts?
  5. Last ditch effort for the largemouth in the Nashua river. Managed to catch one everymonth in 2012 except this month. Managed to get a small smallie in the Merrimack yesterday afternoon. Need 1 Largemouth for 2012

  7. No fish today. Only 28 more days to get a smallmouth and largemouth for December. Realized today while talking with a buddy that i have caught atleast 1 largemouth and 1 smallmouth every month for 2012 here in NH. Started with a largemouth at the Stellos dam Nashua river then a smallmouth In the Merrimack. No fish yesterday or today. not good start to December. Hopefully i can get back out in the canoe on wed morning. All in open water, none thru the ice.
  8. With this cold cold coming for the next week or so , the water may be getting a little hard except for the rivers. Where to go tomorrow morning?
  9. 7 today and some black crappies to go with them. slow slow slow and then fished slower. pictures at the Southern NH thread
  10. usually when i see them coming i drop a few casts towards them , sometimes i will drop a second line in and let it sit with a bobber on it. Usually they stay clear. If there are 2 of us we usually do the same with big bobbers and just let them sit. In NH we can use 2 rods at a time per person. Not sure if other states allow the same. I will usually also try to fish in a big circle to make them aware that i am using the area. Only once have i had to say , hey Buddy can you give me a little room please.
  11. They are getting skinnier This morning , Nov 24th 6 - 8 am 7 total -- 1 over 4 1/2, 19 inch -- 1 over 5 , 21 inch and some black crappie to go with
  12. Novemeber 24 up here in the cold NH water with my buddy Joe. N
  13. I will try again wed and sat/sunday depending on the weather. at 20 degrees i get cold after sitting in the canoe less than an hour, and i am starting to have to break ice on the surface to cast at the small ponds where the water is not moving much. The rivers are no problem for ice though. Might try up to Lincoln pond sunday. Just depends on the temps and weather. Sunday i had problems early with the line freezing up and the guides filling with ice.
  14. a handul of these this morning 6 am - 8 am and a handfull of black crappie.
  15. these are today, nothing big but we had a few of these and a bunch of black crappie
  16. Slow morning with all small fish but 8 total , some largemouth, some smallmouth and the pickerel to go with them. All on crank baits in the Nashua river. Biggest fish was almost 2 1/2. Got out and relaxed for 2 hours. So quiet no boats no motors no cars no kids. Just the occasional airplane.
  17. A few last wed up off exit 17 where the rivers meet . but nothing too big. slow bright yellow and bright red crank baits very slow. I have been using the deep diving ones but just real slow and they dont dive so deep. I was using square billed ones but they only dive a few inchs when cranked slow slow and they have not been productive. And also Turtle pond up in Concord. same stuff same result . Have not and much luck with my rage tail craws and lobsters that were working well. Nashua river tomorrow morning and not sure where on Sunday morning. The pickerel are still biting hard especially the bright red bigger stuff. Top water has been dead even the slow night time jitterbug.
  18. A cold , fishless morning in the canoe today at the Nashua river. Gotta get a heated coffee thermos
  19. Anyone seen or fished Bow lake or Pawtuckaway since the draw down? Is it possible to get my jon boat on the small trailer in either place? or just the canoe or kayak.
  20. This morning , A few at Pine Island pond Biggest about 3 , Tonight an even dozen at Rollins Biggest 3lb 7 oz. the wind was wicked tonight.
  21. thanks , those are some nice stripers. did you get those from shore or boat?
  22. plasticb ziplock bag in the tackle bag
  23. Fished with a little luck saturday morning in Amherst at Stump , Tried Monday morning for 1 1/2 hours at the Nashua river but the wind and fast moving water made it real tough in the kayak. The dam was wide open. I paddled up a bit and then coasted back 4 times fishing as much as possible. The wind was a major PIA. Would have been much better in the jon boat and motor as well as the 2 anchors. No fish but i still got out instead of sitting on the couch.
