  1. I have 2 different ones I have not used them for fishing , i use them for hockey. This one goes behind the glass right behind one of the nets during hockey games. Its a Vivitar ... 785 or 787 both HD http://www.vivitar.com/products There are 2 models, mine is the older one. $59 at staples. Its awesome for what i use it for. The Go Pro is awesome also , just lots more money than i wanted to spend. I would try this one first, The better model. Keep in mind battery life if you fish for more than a few hours, as well as recording length. I originally bought it with the intent of trying it for 2 weeks and returning it if it did not work out and getting the go pro. --- 2 years later i still have it and its awesome. I also have a bullet cam , Its an older one by Contour, It is the size of a 10 gauge shotgun shell. The key to this was small as possible and as rugged as possible. It has been hit several timesby pucks and still works. I wear it on my ice hockey goalie and forward helmets as well as my motocross helmets. It so far has been indestructible. I liked it for its small size and solid metal construction. It took longer to set up and get the angles down as it does not have a viewer screen, after 3 or 4 times using it , i got it adjusted and mounted with the view i wanted. This is probably not what you want for fishing. In my opinion you cannot go wrong spending the $$$ on a go pro. If you are willing to spend the $$$. http://www.chopmtb.com/2013/03/14/whats-the-best-helmet-cam-find-out-in-the-ultimate-pov-action-camera-video-shootout/
  2. Dressing warm tomorrow morning. Nashua river is calling me.
  3. nice, i will be back out on wed morning, then sat, my other addiction of hockey has been taking up most of my mornings. Just back from a week of playing in an old timers tourney in montreal.
  4. Nice nice nice. I didnt get out this weekend as planned. But i did get to spend the complete weekend with my 9 yr old Grandson.
  5. If you dont fish you certainly wont catch. go enjoy the outdoors and relax.
  6. and a big tank at that
  7. sat and sunday , not sure where yet. nashua river and merrimack river most likely
  8. We always soaked the dogs in many gallons of tomato juice for what seemed like hours, Mythbusters...... this sucks,,,, Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda & Dish Soap As was proved to be "confirmed" by the TV show Mythbusters: From Popular Science Aug. 1995, chemist Paul Krebaum provided the recipe for the bathing concoction. [Mix together] One quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, one quarter cup of baking soda, and one teaspoon of liquid soap. Bathe your pet in this solution and rinse with tap water. Krebaum warned that there is no way to store this potion. "If you put the ingredients in a bottle, the whole thing would explode."
  9. Nothing big at the Ct river this morning, 2 at 17 inch Tonight Tinker road bridge.
  10. i took the cross member off cut the plywood the same length and then put the plywood on top of the cross member. I put it back with longer bolts from top to bottom. You can see the cross member under the plywood. I used the original holes in the canoe with longer bolts, and then drilled one more straight down as the cross member is only 3 inches wide. It is secured on each side of the canoe with 2 bolts.
  11. Nashua river Sat morning , and finally going to make the long haul to try the CT river Sunday , Hinsdale i believe. Any help on this area is appreciated. I have never been. I believe there are 2 ramps in that area. 4 guys a Canoe and Jon boat both with trolling motors.
  12. plywood cut to size , a few bolts with nuts and wing nuts , washers , I used aluminum shelf bracket and twisted it 90 degrees. Shelf bracket goes just a bit deeper than the trolling motor which is mounted on the other side. Make sure to mount the transducer back far enough behind you so it does not interfere with rowing/paddling. I first made a measure and coated it with poly a few times as my main mount, I put a bolt thru with a nut tightened it and then used a wing nut The plywood is cut to fit onto of the support that goes across the canoe and i secured it with a few screws. It is strong enough for me to sit on also so i can face the other way to fish behind the canoe. if you use all aluminum screws / bolts the will never rust. I did not. I used what i had hanging around. I put it on the right hand side for me and am going to move my anchor to the other side one of these days. to mount the transducer i used 2 bolts The top bolt holds it firm the 2nd smaller one stops it from moving ( i only use the bottom one when i know the transducer cannot hit anything) with out the 2nd bolt it will swing up. http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/20131016_120553_zps7084f6c1.jpg?t=1381939924 The next is with it in storage position, 2 wing nuts to remove it. I can put it on the kayak or jon boat very easy. same bolt set up in the jon boat , adapted also for the kayak but with a much small battery it works for what i want. portable , simple easy , cannot be stolen from the boat as i dont leave it there. My canoe pretty much stays in my truck from ice out , right thru fishing and duck season till i cannot use it due to ice in. Although the Merrimack never froze for long enough of a time that i could not use it. even in Jan and Feb.
  13. only 1 bass today , but a bunch of pickerel , crappie and a big bunch of ?? fall fish ?? The bass comes from the Pennichuck bridge on Tinker road IN Nashua The others from the Merrimack river up in Concord area
  14. just one bass yesterday,
  15. For a basic fish/depth finder it would be fine with paddle or troller. they are just reading down in a cone.
  16. Dragged the canoe across the road to fish Silver Lake in Hollis, a lot of fish yesterday , but the biggest was 16 inch.
  17. I have to agree with Shane, if you are not at least trying these you need to. I use weightless a lot Flip it , watch , wait , twitch it , drag it a few inchs, wait for Fish. I do not use it enough. Look for some of Shanes other pics for ways to rig it. I use the larger lobster a lot also. add this from this morning. With that Rage Craw , Just dragging it . I cast to the shore under an overhanging tree, Pulled 3 with the craw. This was the biggest of 3 the other 2 were less than 15 inch. I had fished it top water first , popr, then a small spinner bait , then i threw the craw. Gotta throw it more.
  18. Sorry Deak , there is just so much Knowledge here from the guys in this SNH thread. I was told if i fish the Merrimack up in Concord / Loudon area long enough especially around the exit 17 bridge area where the rivers come together that i would eventually catch some. There are some nice hard hitting smallies there too. I usually get Wed afternoons to fish that area. This week it just happened to be Tuesday. The bigger than 17 inch or so bass have been avoiding me this week.
  19. That is Biggest freshwater fish i have ever caught, My sons eye i thought were gonna pop. A pike is next , and we want a big one , 35+ inch. Possibly going to CT river this Sunday to try. Where is the best area of the CT river ? I guess there are a few launch areas.
  20. going sat and sunday mornings, Nashua River Sat , not sure yet where on Sunday. I want to hit the CT river here in NH and catch a Pike, What launch area would be best? I guess there are a couple. Will take my jon boat or canoe with the trolling motor.
  21. She was feisty , was really tough getting a true and accurate weight , My son kept saying to let her go so she would live, so we did.
  22. In about 8 inches of water, maybe 10. you can see bottom in the pics.
  23. i have a yard stick cut down to 30 inch , then have it tacked to a piece of wood 30 inch by 4 inch wide , i carry on the kayak and another one (i just made)i started to carry in my truck. I wont put them on the grass anymore as i was told this is not good for the fish. which makes perfect sense. I have also one 8 inch wide tacked onto the support beam in my canoe. I also wet them first. There are pics of fish with them on it
  24. I am still using a black Jitterbug brokentail with knockers inside cranking slower , also using Rage craws, Dark colors , weedless or with a small noisemaking weight on the tail. There is a good picture on the Luck in Southern NH thread posted by Shane J.
