  1. if you got to Stellos ramp . go left catch that shore on the ramp side, there are several spots where the trees and logs are sticking up. follow it right around the corner. Also once Otternic pond opens up follow the stream out on the left straight out from the launch, that yak is perfect for this area, Also on the Nashua river if you launch off Tilton street go quick right and fish around that first set of islands. There are a couple drops , once you start seeing green growing this place produces well. Also the water is flowing fast and heavy in the dam area, It is wide open and flowing well. The orange warning balls and safely cable are not across the river yet, i would not get too close to the Dam area. The current across the other side of the river is moving much harder than the ramp side. go catch some nice fish, its a huge river, and they are there, but they can be tough to find. lots and lots of water to learn, you could fish the river exclisively all year and not make it to the hollis line. I fish from the Tilton road ramp area a lot
  2. I think he means the tree trunks sticking up , they are right off the shore, go left from the ramp and follow it compelty around the left side and around the corner, that complete side fish all of it. I have good luck with black or blue here, but I also use a lot of white.
  3. Aright guys so I take a Machining class at my High School I have been taking it for 3 years now and I have run out of my own projects to build silent shallow water 12 ft anchor poles --- affordable or anchor and pulley system with quick easy up and down for my canoe
  4. Jitterbug, i fished maybe 60% out of my canoe last year, maybe 20% out of the kayak. only 10% out of the jon boat with the gas motor, and a little bit out of big boats that other people own. Most big bass don't care what you have for a boat, My big pickerel , canoe. my PB canoe. AND SOME NICE FISH FROM SHORE. grab the opportunities you have now and enjoy them. There will come a time for you , like many of us, when other things take on more importance. Such as -- a 33 yr old son /wife/grandson , 2 in college at the same time and a 15 yr old headed to college in 3 years. ... i consider myself very lucky , and cherish the time on the water. I fished very little , very very little from age 19 - 45. and now the the youngest is 15 i am fishing alone alot. i 1/2 wish the wife would fish too, but at the same time, it is so relaxing and quiet from 4:30 am till 9am a few mornings a week. enjoy your young years, and stay away from those high school girls,,, all they do is complicate things. AND DREAM BIG ... WITH BIG GOALS,
  5. Shane , Can I assume your on the Merr river ? There are some big ones in those rivers as you already know.. Lots and lots of water , lots and lots off food , lots and lots and lots of places to hide. too many places to hide.
  6. Nothing even down here in Nashua except for rivers. I have 1 small walk in pond thats open , Canal is frozen , round pond , stump pond , rocky pond sandy pond all frozen. Getting aggrivated, good thing i am playing hockey every morning
  7. The Nashua river is now completely open, and launch ready. I was there this morning, but holy cow is that water moving right now. The Dam is wide open at all the gates and the wall. as of last Saturday you still could not launch a boat at the ramp behind Stellos Stadium. Make sure your battery is fully charged and your motor is ready to run. There is nothing to stop you as the orange buoys on the cable are not across the river yet. Same goes for the dam at Margarittas, The blue barrels and cable are not across the river yet. If you are fishing either these 2 places, just be aware that water is moving fast, and dropping faster. Most everything else is still frozen over, except for a little bit of the Pennichuck at the bridge on Tinker rd in Nashua/Merr line.
  8. I am not familiar with this app. Does it do any small water ? Does it do Southern NH ?
  9. a spot i was fishing has frozen over again !!!
  10. i was doing some fishing in the Pennichuck, it is now frozen over again !!!
  11. My son and I want to catch some Pike (catch and release). I have heard the CT river near the Nuclear power plant (We do not have VT licenses only NH ). We fished the CT river 1 time but only had a couple hours. Can anyone give me any tips , best times or basic areas to fish for Pike. Also other than the Ct river (staying in NH) , other places? We live in Nashua.
  12. Trout season April 25th i believe. I hope to have caught and released many bass by then.
  13. wind was whipping this morning, did not try to put the jon boat in. next chance for me will be next sat/sun i think. maybe possibly wed afternoon depending on the weather. Looks like most of the Merrimack river is open all the way thru past Concord? I was driving and did not get a good look. Is the river soft all the way up to the exit 17 big bridge ?
  14. Grandson spent the night, did not get out to fish this morning. Going to possibly try tomorrow morning.
  15. I am thinking there has to be some relaxing at the walls , and under the bridge, the question is do i have the patience to wait long enough.
  16. CLR , if you are up in the Concord NH area go hit the rivers where they come together. Exit 17 , go left , go left at the circle , I think the water is open over by the railroad bridges. Fish where the rivers meet.
  17. Nashua river tomorrow morning, going to hit the lower part behind clocktower place and going towards Margarittas in Nashua. I am hoping the bridge area at Main street will be productive. Jitterbug , i may have an empty seat in my canoe. about 6:30 or so i will be hitting the water, but only till 8:30
  18. Who wanted the free Ugly Stick ? My buddy has a new job at the big place in Maine, and just gave me 4 set ups I wont be using this one any more. You would have to pick it up in Nashua or Concord area. I can hold it for awhile.
  19. slow and big suspended , Rage lobster ( i love the white color) but a lot will say blues, greens match the food supply. , -- double colorado all black spinner slow slow --- 26" pike tells me there is good food, give them something of substance so they want to eat it. throw something thats different than they normally see, make them investigate it. white rage craw weightless let it drop , bounce it around, find the structure , dropoff ? water flowing in? is it spring fed? is there a dam or beaver hut anywhere?
  20. that works too. if you are gonna add the hooks to the package it will save me from sending my donation of hooks to the winner.
  21. very nice, i have just the right hooks too.
  22. if anyone wants to pay to fish with me in the Nashua river, just let me know when. I am available Mon, Wed, Sat from 3:30 am till 8 am and Sunday mornings from 3:30 am till 9 am. this is prime time and in my opinion the 2nd best time to fish. I really really like the sunset till 10 ish pm time slot. and the midnight to 2 am slot. I am not much of a guide but i do have a boat.
  23. Merrimack is wide open down here , I have not been up to Concord in a week or so , Is it still frozen past Manchester? except at the Powerplant? I am in the water sat and sunday mornings this week down here, playing hockey this time of year every morning except on weekends. as it warms up i drop hockey to fish on mon and wed mornings and only play 3 games a week. Nashua river is open from below the stellos dam all the way to the Merrimack river. from the dam to the mass border is still iced over. i will probably fish the lower part from margaritas after the dam to the merr river one of the days. My son and i are going to hit the CT river and try to each catch some big pike. he is going to take my canoe and i am going to use my kayak.
