  1. You are correct, but that can only happen on weekends unless I hit the lottery, which means I have to start playing the lottery! Always great to hear from you grampa!
  2. High noon at Houghton's Pond was a good place to be today, unfotunately, after my fourth fish and a 1.5 hours stay, I got a call to go to Quincy...Oh well, win some you lose some.
  3. Talk about changing the action of the lure, wow! It still casted and ran with a nose down attitude like a lipless crank, but the really nice benefit to this caviar filled bait: on a slow retrieve it swam like a lipped crank with a wide wobble and a little hunt to it, if you sped it up, it ran like a lipless crank with a tight wiggle and pulsating vibrations. Three bass in the first 10 casts, all on a slow retrieve. Man, now I gotta start experimenting with steamiing a couple of baits, because the action on that bait is way too awesome!
  4. My fingers are crossed for you my friend! Oh, and BTW, when you do your first post game interview, don't forget to thank your friend, Jigfishn10!...
  5. Was that you?
  6. Alright, maybe not a great title, but I have 2 lipless cranks that got kind of baked in the sun and has had the sides expand on them. Kind of looks like their ready to produce baby traps or in this case RES'. Anyway, I was thinking of taking them out for a fish to see what they would do, anyone ever fish these caviar filled type of baits?
  7. I bet it was! I had a great experience of coaching my son's little league team last spring and can only hope one day he becomes a fine ball player in the college ranks. Man, I would be more than excited to watch the young man play in that type of arena! Congrats again my friend, you must have made a lot of nice memories playing this year! John
  8. Hey Griz, been wondering where you went? Congrats on the 3rd place finish and glad to see you posting again!
  9. I guess he throws more than gas: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/cliff-lee-passes-gas-to-signal-interview-s-end-144610332.html
  10. That's just it, there are no rules, bass don't read the same text books we do. Raul's post is very good and the advice contained in it should be takened, however, you can google color spectrum in water and you will find out what colors fade at certain depths and water clarity. I read an exerpt from Denny Brauer's book and he basically says that he doesn't know what a bass can see, he's not a marine biologist, but if you can find a color that is visible to the water your fishing, why not appeal to the bass' sense of sight and have one more thing on your side to stack the odds in your favor to catch that fish?
  11. I was flippling thru the MLB network and they were reporting a Cliff Lee rental/trade? I didn't catch much of the report, but it begs to ask: If you want to build a team, why would you rent out one of your better pitchers in the game?
  12. Yes sir, braided line. Get the stretch from your rod, I like a moderate fast action rod, MH or H power. The braided line would be for the classic ripping through grass technique. Larger size hooks works well. I like to switch out a #4 belly hook for a #2 on a 1/2 oz lipless crank. You can pair up the rear hook with a #2 as well and not kill the action of the bait.
  13. The AL East has gotten pretty tight, not that anyone out of the east will do too much in the playoffs. At least the division race will be interesting.
  14. Happy birthday! The 4th floor ain't so bad, last week I made it up to the landing of the 5th floor and will be knocking on the door next year which scares the bejesus out of me....LMAO!
  15. Went fishing for the second time this year and hit Houghton's Pond on my way home from work. Not much was working but I did get 3 on a lipless crank. Not big but they bent the rod which is always a plus. Arched rods my friends!
  16. He's a first ballot HOFer. Anyone who has 3,000 hits is an automatic.
  17. Sounds like the sure bet is staying in your own outfit, sounds like more upside potential, but the other 2 ops are worth exploring. Good luck on a hard decision.
  18. I didn't get a chance to see the game, but I did noticed that MLB and Fox did issue an apology. Probably not what fans like you and me would like to see or read. An omission to the death of a Hall of Famer in a game like that is inexcusable in my book.
  19. Nothing like taking in a baseball game your kid is playing in and he does something special like that...you should be proud!
  20. Wow! My 9 y/o son picks up a lot of language/sayings from me. The other day he came up to me to show me something and blurts out: "isn't that the nuts!", or he'll see a nice car on the road and will say: "Wow, that's sexy, should be rated R!" I don't remember saying these things in front of him, but boy, he hears everything! I don't think the rocket would have gone over too well in my house...LMAO...that was great A-Jay!
  21. Probably a smart idea. LOL
  22. I get up at 3:00 AM every day for work, so I ended up falling asleep, but I saw it on MLB Network this morning, what a shot!
  23. You got em!...Speedy recovery Bud!
  24. That was great! Your wife looked worst (angrier) than Raider's Asian Ladle Wielding Chef!
