  1. Finally!!!! I got an MRI appointment set for Monday
  2. Divisional games are always tough, doesn't matter what each team's records are. We got the Jets and Fins to finish the season out and it's never a cake walk. Some really good football to watch if you're a true fan of the game. Should be fun!
  3. Nope, missed the shroom years. I forget to take prescribed medication let alone recreational. I wouldn't be a very good drug addict to be honest with you.
  4. dafuq did I just read ...
  5. HOOOO DOGGIE!
  6. For me, blades are a visual and vibration thing, so I'll switch blades around until I find something that works. Just a few of examples: I'll switch to painted blades when I think the flash off of a metal blade is turning the fish off. I'll switch from smooth blades to hammered blades when I think smaller flashes of light is needed instead of a "beacon" of light from a smooth blade. I'll switch to a hammered blade provide more vibration during low light or poor water clarity. As far as what it looks like to me? Who cares, as long as a bass likes it.
  7. My primary doc called and said I had "moderate" arthritis, the orthopedic specialist today totally ruled that out and said slight meniscus tear. MRI is being scheduled as we speak.
  8. It works great. You would think it would be hard to use, but you can really get it smooth and you can hone it with a round shank of the screw diver or whatever you have and get a really bright sheen to it and is paintable. I'll see if I have a pic of a prop bait I made. EDIT: I never found the pic...sorry I'll be honest, I got the idea from members on this site. There have been some incredible builds posted over the years using foil duct tape
  9. My doctor finally got back to me after 2 weeks and referred me to an orthopedic specialist. Got an appointment for tomorrow...Let the fun begin On a fishing note, our temps look very promising for the upcoming weekend. I rigged up a jerkbait, and have a rippin rap and little cleo at the ready. Bass and trout will be the target species on Saturday.
  10. Looks great! I love what you're doing, it shows you're thinking outside the box. Try using foil duct tape, you can buy it at Home Depot and local hardware stores?
  11. I'm going with juvenile brookie...tail looks squared like a brook
  12. OMG...you put the italian "Molocchio" curse on the Pats!...LMAO...Keep it up and the Eagles will be in the Super Bowl....LMAO!
  13. Everyone has their favorite blade configuration and colors and I'm sure you'll make a great selection based on the advise you just got, now make one like this and let me know how you do: The big blade you usually install on the back swivel, install it in front on a clevis. Now install the small blade on the swivel instead of the clevis.
  14. Yes, I guess I should have asked if anyone adjusts for the colder temps...anyway, probably another dumb question...Disregard, I'm done here.
  15. Back when I started fishing, I fished basics: worms, jerkbaits, poppers and jigs. Jerkbaits were the mainstay for winter/early spring bassin and as the water got colder I spent the time to weight a jerkbait to suspend or ascend/descend slowly. Well, here we are at 62* in the Baystate and we are projecting to be in the 50's this week so i think some fishing is in store for this week and I think a weighted jerkbait should be just the ticket. Our water is 49ish*, so I took a Jerkbait and drilled in a piece of lead and got, what I think is a decent suspending bait. I adjusted the amount of lead by suspending the bait in a 5 gallon bucket of water that was approximately 49*. Does anyone do this anymore or is this a lost art?
  16. Thanks a million! I got my 11y/o son a spinning combo for Xmas with a reel that doesn't hold a ton of line, so I decided to spool it with braid. I've had a couple of bad fishing years - just couldn't get out there but a handful of times, but he's ready to get back at it with me. He's had a BC since he was 5, so now he has a spinning combo. I know, it was a dumb question...sorry. I had a table that iabass8 just posted, but can't for the life of me find it. Instead of web searching, I asked so I can get an Xmas tree with the kids. I'll think before I post a question like that in the future. Just printed this...Many thanks for posting that bud!!!! I hope you guys enjoy the holiday season and have a prosperous New Year! John
  17. Quick question: Is 15# PP Braid the equivalent diameter of 4# Mono?
  18. Really, no swelling or pain after surgery?!? I'm hoping for that. Do you know what they did, meniscus repair (sutures) or meniscectomy? Good luck!
  19. I would think osteoartritis would degenerate the meniscus to a point where the bones would rub against each other causing a clicking noise, no? The more I think about it, the more I think you're right. At least a torn meniscus is more tolerable than a ligament. I had an MCL injury in high school and couldn't walk for weeks.
  20. I honestly thought he was going to be a Giant. No rhyme or resaon to that statement, just a gut feeling. The d-backs have got to be tickled considering Cueto walk away from them.
  21. I agree, I was hoping to get it done sooner rather later. My doc is dragging his feet on the x-rays, he's had them for a week now, so I'm getting impatient. He wants to check for arthiritis first, then have an MRI. I wanted to go right into MRI, but, what the heck, he's the doc. All I know is my deductible bills are starting to mount up...
  22. I don't know what it is these days, but hip and knee replacement is getting more and more common. A good friend of mine is going in on the 16th of this month to get his done. Fairly young guy too. I'm just not looking forward to my older years if my knee needs attention now. Can't imagine 10 - 15 years from now what it's gonna be like. Hope you and the mrs. have a great holiday season gramps! Thanks for the well wishes.
  23. That is strange Tom, the articular cartilage must be pretty healthy I would guess. My dad had a total knee replacement about 10 years ago because of osteoarthritis and he had zero cartilage left. Strange to say the least. Hope all is well Tom. Good luck at the docs!
  24. Looks great Rhino! I went to the doc's about a week or so ago to have my knee checked out. It's been really sore and "clicking" for a few weeks now. Not your typical run of the mill achy knee. He thinks I have a torn meniscus...UGH! Had X-Rays done to see if its arthritis. Next is MRI. We'll see what happens. Hope you all are enjoying the holiday season!!
