  1. Be a good day to try the feathered treble...huh?
  2. Not on Christmas Day, but I will be fishing the day prior. It's supposed to be 69* here in the Baystate...unheard of! Good luck if you do get out!
  3. I have a feeling that I'll be tying one tonight to try out....ahhh, crap
  4. MRI is done...boy, that thing makes a racket. Thankfully headphones and the radio kept me from listening to it.
  5. See what happens when you drink and fish? You fall in your tackle box.
  6. As much as I like fly fishing, it was getting harder and harder around the waters I was fishing at. There just wasn't enough room behind you on the back cast without snagging. Seemed like I was limited to fishing certain angles. Fly fishing rivers in Colorado is a different story tho!
  7. I see the feathers being somewhat effective on a pause, but it seems like when you put the bait in motion with a nose down attitude it would lay down against the belly? Although, on a floating model used for a topwater may be a different story? IDK, doesn't sound like it's worth it. Hey Wayne, ahhh, which one is the jerkbait?
  8. Anyone use them? What are your thoughts? I'm wondering if they kill the jerkbait's action.
  9. I uploaded the pics again, but it wouldn't let me drag and drop into the post, but I think that was more me not being able to drag and drop from my tablet. Anyway, the pics are up gain.
  10. Yeah, looks like it happened to me as well in December Panfish...Not a big deal, I'm sure there are a few bugs to work out.
  11. Out of the 3 species, the perch hit and fought the hardest. The other 2 just felt like dead weight on the next twitch, like I snagged. Thank you, I was really happy with that, especially on 1 lure. I absolutely love taking my 5wt fly rod, a Royal Wulff and fishing for gills in the dog days of summer. Thanks for the kind posts guys, I hope you have a great holiday!
  12. Hey Hootman, you've been around as long as I have and lived thru all the changes to the site? We've heard how "The old format was better!" I really like it and I'll bet in a couple years or so from now when Glenn decides to upgrade the site you'll be saying the same thing....let it play out my friend. I've found features coming back in the last 24 hours that I hoped would come back. It doesn't look like all the updates are done. Keep the faith my friend! I hope you have a great Holiday Season! John
  13. ROFL....Exactly! Ever hear an Italian American try to speak French? Not good!
  14. je ne sais quoi? That's a big one for you....watching Sonic commercials, slonezp?
  15. I did this a few years back and it was well worth it for me. I like the rod and it had a worn reel seat, so I replaced it along with the cork grip (front and back). After a season I found I hated the cork grip, so I split it. EDIT: This modification took me 12 hours to do. I had more "wait and dry" time than actual work.
  16. Good luck Rhino, how's the schedule work for your annual trip south for the races? You think you'll have enough PT time prior? Let me know how you do, I have an MRI and a meeting with the ortho doc to discuss arthroscopy. This is my first rodeo.
  17. Right around mid-October I start fishing multi-species and hope a bass hits. I fish spoons, inline spinners, lipless cranks (yes they work on trout too, LOL) and today a 3" minnow twitch bait. I'd rather bend a rod and catch something than practice casting...
  18. Beauty for sure!
  19. I don't fish very often in the winter, especially this time of year. We're usually iced out by now. I had a personal day today and went fishing. Not a bad couple of hours before the cold rain drops forced me out. A nice 15" pickerel (no picture), a crappie and a perch. Happy Holiday's All!
  20. I have vacation and 1 personal day left for the year so I took a personal day today and went to Hougtons Pond for a couple of hours until the cold rain drops forced me out. I tied on a 3" minnow that I modified to give it a painfully slow decent. With a slight twitch, it'll right itself and then stay in one place for a few seconds before it will painfully sink again. No bass today, but a nice 15" pickerel, a crappie - which surprised me - and a perch which is the first I've seen or heard of from a pond I've been fishing since the late nineties.
  21. I can't agree more. I've been here since 2010 and have seen a few updates to this site and I think this one takes the cake.
  22. Man, that would stink...
  23. HAHA...Read the OP then clicked on the link and never caught that
  24. Good to know, thanks for the info. Great link, thanks for posting.
  25. I thought we got clobbered last year, but it took a month to get that kind of accumulation, 7'7 in one day? That's just not right
