  1. I only get to do it once a year, but these guys are a lot of fun to fish with: My daughter just started high school so I'm on borrowed time with here. This was 4 years ago.
  2. It's amazing how peeps don't understand this concept and brush the 411 aside. Seeing it in writing is eye opening and makes a huge difference to a suspending lure. It's unbelievable what 5* does! Great post gulf!
  3. I run a 5 wgt. I like that size for gills, trout and perch. Lot of fun.
  4. Nitro, I usually start off a post about you with a good old fashion ribbing...but not this time. I hope your rods are continually bent with large fish on the end of it...this year. I hope your new ride purrs like a kitten with absolutely NO issues...this year! I really hope you have a the greatest fishing season of your life. I can't imagine anyone more deserving!!! Both fingers are crossed for you, please send some pics my way, it looks like my season will be starting late again. John
  5. Please....Don't excite.
  6. Grass Jig with either a grub or Rage Craw Skitter Walk or Spit'n Image Slug-go - I know, going retro Lipless Crank - Cold Chrome Rippin Rap Spoon - my build or a Lil Cleo
  7. Love my Spit'n Image for shear fun and numbers Skitter Walk
  8. That's sounds good! Do you make the dough and sauce? I got into the pizza making gig 12 yrs ago, even went as far as making mozzarella cheese. It was good, but what a process. I just do the dough and sauce now and let Kraft do the cheese for me......Chicago Deep Dish could be a possibility now...Thanks for posting.
  9. LC Pointer and Smithwick works for me.
  10. Great lure! It was/is marketed as the only anti-twist spinner. I never had one so I can't confirm. Zell Rowland signature Rebel Pop-R
  11. Dam Goose52, that's a sweet fish! Congrats on an outstanding kick-off to the season! John
  12. For the most part in everyday life and fishing I'm in the "here we go" camp but do mix in the "fish on" while fishing
  13. Chilly pops...Are those like a fritter?
  14. That's funny, I did the shrimp, wine, beer last weekend...My head the next day would have been better if I stayed with wine or beer not wine and beer... I had Shrimp scampi with cream sauce and polenta...Italian version of shrimp and grits....
  15. I haven't decided yet, but in the past few years when this thread comes up, I'm like: "Man that sounds good, I think I'll have that for the game!"
  16. I can't comment on this...That just doesn't read right!
  17. What happened to the stick of dynamite technique you usually employ after say....10 minutes of casting practice?
  18. Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a whirl. Too funny ... I actually have better luck t-rigging them for whatever reason
  19. I knew gramps was in SC, although I thought it was a winter deal, I didn't know it was permanent. I'm assuming the other one your referring to is Tate. I was wondering what happened to him? Have fun down south. Nice! I've built about 6 myself. Nothing like catching fish on equipment and lures you built! Post some pics, would love to see the build.
  20. 3/4" oz Red Eye Shad...I hope I don't get yelled at
  21. Swim Jig...Spinnerbaits no problem...Swim Jigs = Goose Egg!
  22. Haven't had one of those in years, may have to concoct some during the super bowl.
  23. Sahweeeeet! Great rig bud, way to think outside the box. How's the knot strength? I've never used the iron silk material? Sorry, not to sound dumb?
  24. The treble hook on the spinners need to be sacrificed...I clip them off and replace with new trebles on a split ring. Slide the tube over the eye, add the split ring attach to the bait. Or: Add a mosquito hook on a split ring, attach to your lure and rig the crappie bait.
  25. I use those and Zoom 1-2" tubes on spoons and inline spinners as trailers when the going gets tough....can't beat it
