  1. Nothing like a buzzbait bite, Bud! Man you are on fire this year! Awesome! Keep it up!
  2. As a baseball and Red Sox fan I would be torn, I'd love to see the Sox win for Ortiz's swan song, but I would also love to see the Cubbies do what the Sox did in '04 and get that ship sailing past the negativity of the "curse"!
  3. Red Sox/Indians game is turning into a see-saw battle. Quite the home run fest.
  4. That would be fun...can I post that here or do I need to post in the Southeast Forum?
  5. I wouldn't mind seeing another game off for some players somewhere in the next 3 games, but I'm a believer in keeping the player's timing with live pitching consistent. Even if its just a couple of AB's per game, that would work. No need to get hurt or go all out, home field is always the best option in my opinion, but out of all the teams going to the tournament the Sox have the best road record. Just steal one in the opposition's home field and bring it back to Fenway. Line up the pitching and enjoy the ride!
  6. I'm sure the Sox didn't like blowing a 3 run lead in the bottom of the 9th, but from the pics I saw of the clubhouse celebration, it didn't look like they gave a rats @$$......4 games left with some work to do. GO SOX!
  7. MUCHO BUENO!!!!
  8. Looks like my MA fishing days are over until spring. I picked up a project in St. Petersburg FLA which carries me until Thanksgiving and potentially to the holidays. I'm looking to ship a rig and some tackle to check out some holes here.
  9. Yeah, something like that. It would be fun to see a Rangers/Jays series. Joey Bats had a walk off the other day and did his patented bat flip. He's getting hot again, so I'm sure the Rangers would love to see another bat flip from Mr. Bats......If anything to realign his jaw from the opposite side...
  10. Not looking good for the Tigers they're running out of games too! Cleveland starters are pretty banged up, Kluber came out of last nights game early. I believe they have 3 starters banged up now.
  11. Just heard it over the radio, very sad indeed. He was one of MLB's brightest stars. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Sox with a 1/2 game lead on the Indians and 1 behind the Rangers for home field advantage. Just need to clinch the division first and then think about home field advantage. Prior to 2004, a Sox September usually ended in collapse, this season's September push has been nothing short of remarkable. Go Sox!
  12. I know huh? I wrote that when there was talk of Ausmus getting chopped and now look st them a half game up on the O's! And who would want to face them in the post season? That line-up can do some damage. As far as the roid/ped talk? That ship sailed, time to move on.
  13. Imagine if the Yanks played him for the full year?!?! There would have been 4th team in contention for the division and I bet they would not have been sellers at the trade deadline. Your Braves been making noise lately! What are they up to, like a 6 game winning streak and taking 3 from the Mets? They needed to finish strong.
  14. Perch have been banging on a small 3" jerkbait and a Bayou Boogie I've been using lately.
  15. I was a half hour north of Cooperstown the past couple of days and the local sports talking heads were blaming Girardi of mismanaging his bull pen against the Sox. Basically saying that he has an expanded roster and he doesn't trust anyone but Bettances (sp). Do the talking heads know that the Yankee brass traded away 2 all-stars from the bull pen? I couldn't help but laugh, I thought the sports talking heads here were tough, but sheeese!?!?!
  16. Yep, I had an option of joining carpenter's or taper's and chose DC 35 as a taper.
  17. Just wanted to say hello to you guys and to whoever is a member, from a fellow Union tradesman. I am now a new member to the Union.
  18. Man, you're putting together a really nice year of fishing. Sweet memories for sure. I've been working like a donkey and haven't been able to fish near enough this year or last for that matter. Keep up the good work and keep posting! I love seeing peeps catching and posting. Keeps the juices flowing for me. Congrats!
  19. Janderson45, that a beauty for sure, congrats my friend! CavScoutA21, I had a feeling you were gonna beat your previous PB this year...Nicely done!
  20. LMAO! I'm sure you'll make an intelligent decision...LOL Good luck and thank you. We're trying again on Saturday.
  21. WTG! I have a feeling that you'll be well on your way to besting that this fall! Congrats! JF10 My 11 y/o son and I hit the bay in Kennebunkport yesterday only for an hour and a half before we got chased off the water due to weather. Unfortunately, the stripe sides weren't cooperating. We'll have to wait till next week. I'm really trying hard for him to catch his first striper. Keep your fingers crossed.
  22. Wonder if that play made his mind up to retire...LOL I actually liked him as a first baseman, he was a fundamentally sound ball player. The kind of player you recommend your kids to watch and learn from.
  23. I managed to hit Houghton's Pond for 2 1/2 hours today on my way home and had a decent outing. 6 bass and 1 snot rocket from the esox family. The bite started off aggressive with 2 out of the gate on a Rippin Rap and 2 more on a Slug-Go. The Slug-Go bites were twitched fairly quickly and the Rippin Rap bites were both on a yo-yo retrieve. The bite shut down and I moved to another spot. I lost 2 rigs in a row on aggressive Slug-Go bites on hooksets. On both hooksets, my Power Pro Braid came back cleanly sheared off, so I'm guessing 2 snot rockets from the esox family were liking the menu. No more bites, so I moved on. The bite at this point was very slow, I wound up deadsticking 2 more Slug-Go fish and the esox snot rocket on my way out to the truck when I called it a day. All fish were in and around the first weedline. Usually this time of year I have better luck on a secondary weedline, but with overcast skies, I'm guessing they were cruising more. Good luck and be safe.
