  1. Dave's latest post on FB goes back to the drawing board since Irma's track has changed. I posted the link but it was blocked for "security rules"... And this is an excellent video explaining Irma, by tropicaltidbits.com's Levi Cowan.
  2. Welcome aboard, Fritz!
  3. Yeah. Macs are definitely not as "out there" financially as they used to be. Today you can get an *equivalent* PC in the same price-range as a MacBook, which, IMO, makes the Mac a more compelling option given macOS's Unix roots which is inherently safer than others.
  4. As long as it is a "general" location of where I live, fine. We don't want or need to provide our specific location, IMHO.
  5. Welcome aboard! Have you reeled in wacky rigged baits that did not spin at all? I see some spin, and do not worry too much about it. The bait is rigged horizontally, pulling it through the water will result in some movement given the imperfect nature of Stik-Os (which I use a lot of). And I have snelled Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap and Gammy Split/Drop hooks (don't now since I mostly tie weedless). The point with wacky is the fall, not the reeling in, though you can often get bit on the reel-in. You cast it, let it fall and do it's shimmy, then reel, let it fall, rinse and repeat until you're out of the strike zone... My .02.
  6. D.A.N.G.!!! Congrats on her taming the BEAST!! Wow!
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. There was a post on this earlier in the week, a lot has changed since. Florida is in the sights now, but past 5 days it is still a crap shoot as to whether Irene goes further inland, or makes a run up Florida, skirting the Eastern sea board or running up FL and into wester portions of GA, SC, etc. The spaghetti models for both GFS and EU are getting a bit closer in agreement. As Henry Margusity says, the bigger a storm, the more it wants to go straight. Takes a lot of energy to turn it. Henry Margusity‏ @HenryMargusity Following More As I said before, big storms plow straight. takes a lot of energy to move a big hurricane that is producing a lot of energy.
  9. @Glenn is on it.
  10. Yes. Mentioned it in another post where there are 3 pix, none of which I can see. Was fine yesterday, but can't see any today.
  11. Congrats! Ok, is it me, or is there a glitch in the forum matrix today? I'm not seeing pictures (did yesterday). They're showing up as xxxxx.jpg and when clicked, the box shows up where they should be, but they're not there...
  12. Congrats!
  13. This is too true. I'm not a fan of tanking in general, and if the tank is for a guy who doesn't want to play for say, Bills or Jets, then that guy (if it is Darnold) might just go back to school for another year to avoid them. That means the tank is a gamble that may or may not pay off. Jim Kelly didn't want to play for Buff originally and went to the Houston Gamblers, Jersey Generals until USFL went bust. Bills still owned his rights and the rest is history. Buff has a lot of top round picks for next year, so should be able to move around without tanking. But what do I know...
  14. Let's go ... buffalo I grow weary, but am still a fan. I hope this isn't a tank season, but getting rid of key players for ... less than key players isn't exactly encouraging. Tyrod seems to be set up to fail...or trade as the West Coast offense isn't his speciality. Maybe we're being played and the Bills will rout the Eastern Conf. Or maybe they'll be racing the Jets to the bottom for Sam D. Either way, it is tiring for this old Bills fan who went to playoff and conference title games in the glorious-but-0- so-sad-90s.
  15. Looks good overall, text a tad better, some lines and boxes have thicker padding, etc. Good changes. As for all the detailed nuances, I personally prefer simplicity, but I predict it will grow on me! One thing that I would like to see @Glenn, but not sure it is possible, is when a convo gets locked, if the black dialog graphic to the left of said convo became that of a lock, indicating thread closed to further comments.
  16. Welcome aboard!
  17. Congrats! Man, that second pic is a gal with a looong body! Gonna grow up big and fat just like her momma in the first pic!
  18. Welcome aboard!
  19. Indeed. Looks terrifying if the current GFS is on - which brings her as a Cat 4/5 into OBX and Hampton Roads. But Dave thinks that's absurd. Sure hope he's right! Dave is a bit more professional in your link than he was on his FB page, LOL. Said something about monkeys flying out his a**...
  20. Welcome aboard!

    Welcome aboard!
  22. Fishing from a kayak...or not...wind can be a pain. Yes, I've learned to "use the wind" but too often the wind is against where my spots are...!
  23. Can't agree more with @J Francho about seat time. Best if you can get that on the water, but if not, get it in the store (which is what I did). I tried many different yaks and it came down to the Wilderness Systems Commander and the Native Ultimate 12. I ended up with the Ultimate simply because it was a better feeling sit/stand for me than the Commander. Both are fine kayaks. If you are looking for propulsion, Hobie and Native are the earliest adopters, but major players are releasing models every year. Again, sit in. You may like the Propel system better than the Mirage Drive...or vice versa. Or you may decide you'd rather put an electric motor on (like I did).
  24. Thrillsville. We've got a soccer tourney in Richmond Sat/Sun, and a son who's being recruited for soccer going to visit said college out in western VA over Fri/Sat. Looks to be a swell weekend.
