  1. ...and the Bills, too. Well... Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, @Patriots, @Dolphins. Difficult to see them winning either Patriots game. Perhaps 1-1 with the Phins, and a toss up against the Colts. Should win there, but I ain't gonna bet on it.
  2. Well, the Bills D woke up from a nap, but not sure the Chiefs were gonna be a real challenge on that side... Eagles are for real. Rams looking good, too. Wish the Bills didn't dump all their talent. But bygones are bygones, doggonit.
  3. Welcome aboard, Frank!

    Broke

Dude, definitely don't feel bad. Life is much better worrying less about finances! I wish I was in a position to worry less...
  5. I go with spinning. But you can certainly do it with the right casting setup; however, wind can be a killer for casting. I went all-casting for a while just to see if it could be done, and because I thought I wanted to go that direction. But over time things were just simpler with spinning -- and yes, I was able to case some "weightless" soft plastics like a Zoom Finesse Worm, and even some lighter stuff, but distance suffers.
  6. Really? I haven't heard a lot other than some say he was a good QB for Pitt with some intangibles, etc. I'm not a scout, nor do I do detailed analysis of these guys coming out of college. So for me it is more hear say. Be interesting to see if NP has what it takes to shake off the awful outing and be a decent backup...but not sure he'll get the chance to prove himself unless Buffalo pulls another bonehead move to replace TT if he has a bad outing (OL and DL should shoulder a lot of the blame here).
  7. Happy TG to you, too! My house quiet, but I'm only on my first cuppa joe...
  8. Sad...sorry to hear. R.I.P., Al. Happy fishing in the heavenly lakes that stock universe-record bass like candy.
  9. I know you probably want freshwater, but the striper season is pretty stout right now. Some of the inlets down there may have public access areas that would allow you to fish from shore or dock. I've gone out 2x with one of my sons and caught a 3lb striper, an 18" red drum, and a flounder. Was seriously fun fishing, something I haven't done (kayak fish in salt water) until this past week.
  10. Darren.

    Thanks.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Cherish every moment. I lost my Mom to a stroke 2 years ago and it still hasn't settled in...I'm spending more time with my 86 year old Dad who's been rather lonely since then. Have as happy a Thanksgiving as you can considering all you/your Dad are going through.
  11. Fantastic, Evan! Well done! And congrats, gramps
  12. Agreed. I'm a Tyrod fan, but with what McBeane did with his weapons left me shaking my head. Those we replaced them with are just as oft injured, and not nearly as talented. And then we dump Dareus for a 6th round pick. Yeah he's had issues with law, substance, and a big paycheck, but he was always, ALWAYS double-teamed at the line...leaving us with more ability to defend. Now? They run, heck they walk right thru our D-line. I've been a Bills fan since I was a kid. Started with OJ Simpson years. He was The Juice! I went to the 1990 AFC Championship game at The Ralph! I got Jim Kelly's, Bruce Smith's, and several others autographs in those days. I've got a box of Flutie Flakes still!!! I'm so ready to be done with the Bills....
  13. Welcome aboard, Ty!
  14. Well...I would first start at the FG knot. Unless you are super proficient at tying it. I really don't get the obsession some have with that knot. Yeah it may be the thinnest, but it is also very long, and takes a lot of effort to learn. I prefer using simpler knots like the Uni-to-Uni, and the Albright. They just work, and work well, and can be tied on rough water in a kayak! That said, if you are a pro at the FG, then go for it! I would think that Vanish Leader material is pretty decent. At least that's what I've read. What if you tried an inexpensive copoly like Yo-Zuri Hybrid? See if that has the same issues as Vanish Leader when you use the FG.
  15. Time to hit the salt water for striper and the other myriad of species that bite! One of my sons and I went out on the York on Sat, both caught stripers, mine was 20" and 3lbs. And today we hit one of the creeks off the York and he caught a white perch, I caught a small flounder and a nice size red! Nice for a small creek, that is. Almost 2lbs.
  16. Oh yeah. I'm in total fanatic mode for next week...and the week after... Pfft. Tank the rest of the season for all I care. 17, about to be 18 seasons of no playoffs, what's one more?
  17. Tony wouldn't play in the snow...unless it was an indoor stadium. It's just painful, really. Painful. The 5-2 start was an awful tease for us Bills fans.
  18. The Nate Peterman experiment was interesting. And sad...poor guy got fed to the wolves and tossed up 5 INTs...in an epic beatdown by the Should Go Back to San Diego Chargers. I'm feeling some coaching changes are in the works. On both sides of the ball. I don't think even trading our picks to rise up for a QB is gonna fix things. Too many problems on O and D.
  19. Totally up to you. Really isn't a "right way/wrong way" thing. Braid-to-leader can be used for a lot of different reasons. I personally use it for every setup I have, including when I fish jigs...
  20. 10# and 15# yellow PP and PP SuperSlick 8... Just what I like and have confidence in.
  21. Hi-vis yellow power pro and power pro super slick on all my reels...spinning, casting. Helps with visibility a lot - for me.
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. Welp... Buffalo is hot for the playoffs this year. Puttin the hurt locker on the Saints. <wakes up from dream...checks score on internet...Hey Siri...remind me to call doc tomorrow for depression meds due to Bills season...> 3:04 left! 47-3! We got this! Woo hoo!! Hey kids, iiiiiit's GARBAGE TIIIIIME! Featuring Nate Peterman in as Bills QB, and the Saints second and third stringers! At least he put 6 on the board so this wasn't a total blowout...wait.
  24. Welcome aboard!
