  1. Indeed it does! It's a great frog; walks as well as it chugs. It's my go to now. Has bigger hooks than other popping frogs, which aids in it's awesome hookup ratio.
  2. Duckett ghost 6'10" medium.
  3. I'm not affiliated with Stratos at all, and have never owned one (or any bass boat for that matter). But I wanted to share this story with you all; I think you'll benefit from it: It was fall of 2012; my local club had a tournament on the Pocomoke River in southern MD. It's a very narrow tidal river that is nothing but constant "s" turns. One of the guys in my club, Tim, was running his mid-90's Stratos full speed between spots. It was afternoon, and the sun was high. He came around one turn and the sunlight blinded him. It blinded him just enough where he couldn't see the permanent duck blind in front of him. By the time he did, it was too late. We all heard the hit. The collision of tree trunk and fiberglass at 50mph. Some boats immediately rushed to the scene. Meraculously, he and his co-angler, despite cracking the windshields off with their faces, we ok! Shaken but alive, their boat was towed to the ramp where they recovered for a while. Incredibly, as we sat there at the ramp, we all noticed his Startos had huge cracks along the impact area, drivers side console. But wouldn't you know, the boat still floated! After 20 minutes of so, Tim declares, "To hell with it, I came here to fish!" He and his coangler got back in the damaged boat, dropped the trolling motor, and finished out the tournament. The boat has since been patched, and still floats to this day. He uses it in a few electric only lakes around us. Many lessons learned that day: always wear your life jacket, beware of sun glare, take turns slowly, and when buying a bass boat; consider a Stratos! Thanks for reading! Tight lines!
  4. X2. Get a tracker with a 9.9 for your 9.9 lake. If you're not going to use the 115, don't buy that boat. No one wants a glass boat with only a 9.9 or 25hp on it.
  5. Thats a VERY open ended question, as you'll see with the million different responses you'll get. Ice melted here (Philly area) within the past few days. I'm going to do the following: 1) Find shallow grass and toss a River2Sea Tungsten Vibe in red. Rip it out, let it fall. 2) Find a 45* sloping bank with gravel or rock on it and toss either a R2S Trophy Minnow in Bluegill or throw a balsa crankbait (DT6/10, Shad Rap) in a craw pattern. 3) Drag a jig in channels. Good luck to you!
  6. I think moderate is too limp. I throw northern swim jigs and I toss them on a medium, fast Duckett. Same rod I throw jerk baits on.
  7. I used to live in southern Wisconsin. 7'6" is pretty good for the 3lbers you're gonna flip. And it's more manageable. I'd go that route... Maybe a Duckett micro magic!
  8. Coming from someone who has never looked into it. Why is there such a prejudice against graphite side plates?
  9. Thanks for your reply, but I was asking about the casting model. I own a supreme spinning reel too. I use mine for salmon!
  10. Looking for thoughts on this reel. One could argue that's it's a Revo SX and S' love child, but performance is performance. What do you think?
  11. How was this show? Didn't know it existed!
  12. I couldn't watch it on espn2. Where else can I watch it?
  13. I wanted to start a thread where we can post info, links or pics of any of the NEW BAITS that showcase every year at the Classic. I know of a few: Berkley Havoc Fightin' Craw, Pit Boss jr and Gary Klein's Boss Dog. That's all I know this far. Feel free to join in.

  14. Depends on water clarity. I look for clear water and I have more success on jerk baits. I'll flip heavy nasty cover in muddy waters. Smallmouth are notoriously willing biters within a week of ice-out. Here's a regional technique: guys thy fish the upper Chesapeake bay will hop a Silver Buddy (blade bait) off the bottom during late winter. Apparently, it's very effective, but I prefer a squarebill and riprap.
  15. I use both. They have a garlic scent too.
  16. Great to know. Thanks everyone!
  17. A guy Just posted on facebook that KVD put a sixth fish in his livewell and his Day 1 catch will be DQ'd. I cannot find proof this anywhere, and I'm trying to verify if its true. Anyone hear anything?
  18. Duckett. Better warranty, and a lighter rod. Also, Powells rods are underrated. You would need a 706 for jigs. Duckett all the way!
  19. How about a tidal river Like the Potomac or tidal bay, like the Chesapeake? There are some stud bass in the mid-Atlantic, but we get overshadowed by the southern largies and northern smallies. Or a New England lake like Candlewood, Lilly and Zoar, where you can catch monsters of BOTH species!
  20. No dice...
  21. No problem. I forgot all about this thread! lol. Heres a few things you can do: Use a little mono backing and tie the ends together. Tie the braid around one of the holes in the spool. Electric tape works. Good fishing!
  22. Looking for reviews. Google isnt turning up much. Any experience? Leaks? Wind resistence? Comfort? Thanks!
  23. Trophy Bass 4
  24. Its a great show! Shimano always has a huge booth, Quantum, Diawa, many major companies. Norhtern BAss Supply typically has some good deals. My advice: go on Sunday and HAGGLE with whomever you want to buy something from.
