  1. I have a 6'6" Light action that I use for trout. I absolutely love it. I paid $50 for mine. It has the green blank.
  2. Sounds like you need braid. I'd go at least 50lb. Use at least a 4/0 heavy duty ewg hook, and finally the right Rod: 7' MH minimum, H would be better. Good luck!
  3. Looking into them. I'm concerned because I fish the Chesapeake Bay often and I've heard horror stories about aluminum boats and wind/rough water. I'm just looking for some pros and cons. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!
  4. Heading here for the first time this weekend. I've heard great things. Looking for tips, baits, areas for numbers of larger fish. Any info is appreciated. Thank you!
  5. I used to work at Basin Harbor Clib in Vergennes. Otter creek gets loaded with smallies in June when they spawn. Great shoreline fishing then. But launch your 'yak and head to to waterfalls for some awesome year round fishing. I never spent much time in Burlington, but Champlain itself is legendary. Have fun!
  6. I'm considering buying a boat with a '97 Johnson Venom 225 on it. They look like they're in great shape, but my buddy has an early 90's Johnson with nothing but problems. I'm looking for anyone with any experience or information on the reliability of these outboards. I don't want to buy a lemon. Thank you!
  7. 1/0 for the 4", 2/0 for the 6". I actually buy the Gammy B10S stinger hooks, tie on a small fiber keeper. It makes a great drop shot hook for a lot less money.
  8. I understand where you're coming from. But with that logic, no one would use a new company's products. It's always worth a try!
  9. I live in Bucks Co. Welcome!
  10. Boat
  11. Looking for some tips for bass in Early October. I've never been there before. Any advice as far as areas, techniques, water conditions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  12. I always use a leader for my finesse setups. I'll buy gliss in 50 and 80 when it come out.
  13. I've had the same 24lb gliss on my drop shot rod for the last 2 months with zero issues. I use about a 10ft fluoro leader.
  14. Welcome to the forum! I would say that the reason is because your rod is too light for the baits you're trying to fish. You should use a rod built for such baits. I suggest a 6'6" to 7' MH fast action Rod. The reason it FEELS heavy is because the rod is simply underpowered. You might want to consider bumping your line up to between 14-17lb test. Get a heavier rod. Good luck!
  15. Buy yourself some River2Sea Bully Wa II's. They have a separate air compartment that keeps the frog on top.
  16. Both good rods, but i personally prefer ducketts.
  17. I read this post and said out loud, "Why didn't I think of that???" Thanks!
  18. Do they have one? I'm referring to the terminal tackle company from Japan. I can't find it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
  19. Bass pro has a backpack built for fisherman. I own one. It fits three 360 sized containers, but I use the 4-21's, which are very thin but still hold a lot of baits and I can fit six or seven of them in there.
  20. FLW in general doesn't impress me. Same lakes every year, poor coverage, TV shows air in the fall, months after the events themselves. I mean, I'd still fish the tour if I qualified, but still. Haha!
  21. That's a loaded question, brother! I've only ever fished it in late April. Always caught them on Jerkbaits, spider grubs, and cranks. I'd vote a bandit 200 in spring craw, or maybe this time of year orange/brown craw. Strike King 3XD in a similar color. Spinnerbaits or Jerkbaits ripped/burned in shad patterns. Drop shot anything. Lol. Good luck!
  22. I use an Albright. Hasn't failed me yet.
  23. Fair view lake, pecks pond, porters lake, Wally.
  24. They're going to Toledo Bend?
