  1. They already have the live archived footage from the classic braket, but alas, they're weeks late on the footage from Cayuga. I really want to watch it. Maybe I'll email them.
  2. The only way to know if they work is to buy a pack and try it yourself. I know I will be.
  3. I respectfully disagree. I think it's an aggressive design and will make a fine addition to my collection. Hey, more for me!
  4. Saw this on TW. Not a lot of info given, but here's what we know: two piece reel seat, micro guides with inserts, not like the ones on the Ghost, and a $129 price point. I'm very interested to get my hands on these!
  5. I saw this on their Facebook page a week or so ago. Red blanks, possibly black half way up, cork. Just curious if anyone has any insight as to what these rods are. I'm a big fan of Duckett Rods and I'm sure I'm not the only one that's curious.
  6. Winter: small swim baits, spinnerbaits (slow rolled), balsa crank baits, jerk baits early spring: lipless, square bills, chatterbaits prespawn: chatterbaits, swim baits, poppers, swim jigs, frogs spawn: Texas rigs, swim jigs, senkos post spawn: poppers, spooks, wake baits, swim baits, jigs, square bills, frogs summer: AM top waters, heavy cover jigs/Texas rigs, shakey heads, drop shot, frog dog days: deep cranks, football jigs, frogs, heavy shallow cover jigs/punching early fall: all day poppers/spooks, swim baits, jigs, Texas rigs, chatterbaits late fall: same as pre spawn
  7. That's a good price for the HULL. You could offer $10k, then swap the motor for a new(er) 150hp. But beware of deals that seem "too good". This smells a little fishy (I love puns).
  8. I cannot, for the life of me, find a video of how to replace steering cables on my Motorguide. I'm more of a visual learner, which is why I'm looking for a video. My google-foo is off, does anyone have a resource they can share? Thanks in advance!
  9. I've had great success with the whopper plopper. On the 130 size, the LIGHTEST line I use is 50lb braid. On the 90 size, I will use 15lb mono, but much prefer 20lb. These are big fish baits and we have a lot of toothy critters up here in Pensylvania.
  10. Oldham's makes a great head! It has a pretty stout short-shank hook AND a screw-lock. Dicks Sporting Goods has them for $4.49 for a pack of three. They have a double wire weed guard, but I cut it off.
  11. This morning, in a rush to the lake, I THOUGHT I tied in my Strike King Pure Poision onto my 7'1" MH Duckett White Ice, which is my typical "bladed swimjig" rod. I get to the pond and take a first cast and realize that I tied the PP onto my 7' Medium White Ice crankbait rod. I was furious at myself, but decided to keep fishing anyway. It wasn't bad at all, as I wound up landing three bass in about 45min, which were the only 3 bites I had. I started thinking that maybe this system could work. I had 15lb hi seas fluoro-coated line, but figured I could up it to either 20lb FC, or maybe even 30-50lb braid if I couldn't get good hook sets in. I know guys on tour like Brett Hite use a heavy-action glass rod and 20lb fluoro: Does anyone else use a similar system?
  12. Strike King's 3x line of baits. They make the Zulu and Z Too. Great baits! You could probably catch 50-100 bass per bait, no exaggeration.
  13. I was at Staples and discovered Really Useful Boxes, a storage tote company. They make a rectangular shaped 6.5 Liter box that is 6" tall, 7" wide, and about 17" long. The label said weatherproof and I was impressed with the solid build and positive latches. For $10.49, I bought one, took it home, and discovered I can fit around 25packs of plastics per box. The best part is that Staples has a $10 off of $30 and a 15% off storage coupons. I went back to the store and bought six more for $45! They're stackable, and I can fit many of these in my compartments. Now, rather than sifting through big ziplocks for a specific pack of something, they're all single-filed. I have a box for craws, one for shakey worms, drop shots, a beaver box, etc. i have no affiliation with the company, I'm just impressed with the product and figured some of you might be too. Tight lines!
  14. I live in Telford. I know a few places near me. PM me for details! Welcome to the forum!
  15. Oh man, i think you're right!!!! They don't offer that color pure poision either. That's definitely a beefier hook. It doesn't have eyes anymore. Also, interesting fact, the Pure Poision isn't on Strike King's website. Maybe it's just a reboot. Either way, I dig it!
  16. Where might you have seen that?
  17. No outboard on my jon. Just a TM. Boat is 400lbs with the deck I built for it. My question is: will my 16' jon fit on this trailer?
  18. Thanks for getting the thread back on track! :-)
  19. Does anyone know what the maximum size boat you can put on their 600-lb capacity boat trailer? I have a 16' 70" wide jon boat that I need a trailer for. I cannot for the life of me find any information online. I appreciate all your help. Have a good one.
  20. I want to add to my wish list: a Jr sized Zoom Horny Toad: 3.5-3.75"
  21. It's almost that time, folks! I've started threads like this for a few years now. This year, instead of posting things that we know are coming, I'm adding a "wish list" section. So, if you hear about a bait, reel, rod, whatever, post it. But also post the things you're crossing your fingers to see. I'll go first with my wish list: -Strike King Popping KVD Frog -Detailed craw patterns on Strike King square bills -Solid nose of the Shadelicious -Hi-Seas 40lb braid -Ardent Gliss in 50-80lb test - I want someone to come up with a swimbait hook that doesn't year the nose out like screw locks do -Lightweight Duckett spinning reels, 2000 size = <6.5oz -Price Reduction on Duckett baitcasting reels (320=$150 and 360=$200) -6'10" Medium Duckett White Ice with a 12-13" handle A man can dream!
  22. I want to install high quality marine carpet on my jon boat. It's a 16' double wide alumacraft. I've never bought marine carpet before, so I wanted to ask which supplier that has best quality for the money? Where should I buy from?
  23. Generally clear and deep. Fish near the dam this time of year. They should be spawning.
  24. The best dye to use is a combo. I have a jar of JJ's in Methyolate (pink) and a jar of Chartruse. Dip it in the chart first, then Methyolate. It's bright and stays on indefinitely.
