  1. I was looking on Hi-Seas website and saw that they're affiliated. I really like hi-seas and wanted to see if anyone here has used Triple Fish and how you liked it. I'm mostly looking for 12-25lb test. Thanks!
  2. I love the Strike King 4.5" Flipping Tube Texas rigged. I choose a 4/0 ewg and at least a 3/8oz bullet weight, up to 5/8oz. Tubes tend to fall in a spiral, which is great in pitching situations. The vast majority of your bites will be in the first drop, so pitch, lift once: if there's no 'weight', reel in and make another pitch. I use my heavy duty pitching setup, which is a 7'7" H Duckett White Ice. 20-25lb Fluoro over braid because I use braid only for frogging and punching. Good luck!
  3. I use Strike King Shadelicious 4.5" and have had an issue with the screw tearing out the nose after one or two fish. I prefer Gamakatsu weighed screw locks. I tried the Owner Beast hooks (all 4/0 1/8oz), but the action isn't the same. Any tips?
  4. Great baits. Super soft, great action.
  5. I was there in May. Ramp is extremely shallow; more like a carry-in launch. Gets choked with pads at the end of May. Has some good ones in there, but you have to work for them.
  6. Nockamixon is getting better each day.
  7. I went to Giving Pond and Delaware River. Eh on each.
  8. Maybe try Charlestown? Elk Neck Park?
  9. I carry a hook sharpener in my boat. Whenever the hook gets dull, as in: when I drag it along the pad of my finger and it doesn't catch the skin, I run the file on the hook. I use the fine side of the file, and maybe drag it across once or twice. I find less is more in regards to the amount of strokes.
  10. Delaware River north of Trenton has good smallmouth. Van Schiver, which requires a membership, is good. Lake Luxembourg, Nockamixon, Peace Valley.
  11. I'm sick of Nockamixon. I found another place. Thanks!
  12. Will my Jon boat handle the current? I only have a 24v trolling motor, nothing on the back. I'm a little nervous about taking my boat in current.
  13. I live in Bucks County, PA and would like to catch some smallies. I have a 16' Jon with an 82lb trolling motor: no gas, no oars. Any ideas where to go?
  14. I used to live-line small bluegill in Champlain for mega smallies.
  15. I read that, fully rigged, it's around $50k. It's a beautiful piece of machinery, but a $50k aluminum is ludacris. For that much money, why not buy a glass boat? Unless you WANT a high dollar aluminum, but how many people could that be?
  16. There's no room for a carport. I have an extra space in my driveway, so if I get anything larger, I'll have to park it outside. My wife and I really like this particular home, so I might just have to deal with it. I might be able to extend the garage out another foot or so.
  17. I'm looking at a house with a one car garage that measures 10' wide with an 8' wide door. From the back wall to the door is 19.5'. I'm wondering what the biggest bass boat I could fit in there would be. I'd prefer glass, but I'm open to aluminum. I'd like something 17.5' or more, but not sure that I'd have the space. Thoughts?
  18. Did you say you trolled to 3 mile? And you trolled a WP, Chapperbait, deep diver, and frog?
  19. Buy a pack of rubber skirt collars, snip one in half longways, and slide it onto the bend (put the point of the hook through the outside of the collar) of the hook. Rig your toad and slide the hook onto and snug the collar underneath the butt of the toad. This works for me for other plastics like swimbaits, it should work for you too.
  20. Here's a picture on my loaner set-up...
  21. If you toss out a brand of rods do to one bad experience, then you're eventually going to run out of rods! Every brand will Abe an issue from time to time. Maybe you just got a dud. Either way, there are plenty of other good brands out there. More Ducketts for me!
  22. I understand your bad experience, but it isn't fair to categorize ALL Duckett rods as junk because their LOW GRADE Rod was flawed. I owned a Ghost and didn't care for it, but I also own Micro Magics, White Ice, and Terex rods and haven't had a single issue. I'd give their other rods a try, might I suggest a Micro Magic.
  23. All of Ducketts crankbait rods are top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
  24. I'm praying that they come out with a Baby sized Structure Bug and Menace.
