I'm going to have to say no. Mainly for the reason you stated. For an inexperienced fisherman you want to give them every tool you possibly can to catch fish. By restricting this possibility you are only setting them up for failure, loss of confidence, and/or interest. The fisherman needs to set a baseline of what he/she has confidence in and catch a few. Then progress into test runs from there. Now to cover the one that wants to learn a new technique. The fisherman needs to research where and when are the best times to fish this lure for the highest percentage of success will happen. Once this base line is established and confidence is gained the fisherman can expand into other trials.

The brands of plastic I have used float with no salt added. They do cast about the same though. I make some floating senko style baits for shaky heads. This way if I'm fishing very slow the tail doesnt sink down. Sticks straight up and moves. I've been messing around with some plastic that sinks with no salt. I haven't perfected the senko formula, but if I can I will offer a senko style that has less salt with a similar fall rate. I could make any type of molds I have out of a plastic that sinks with no salt. This will do two things. Give better color and better durability.

I'll have some stuff with me for some jigs if anyone would be interested. I could make some up while we hang out and shoot the breeze. If anyone wants me to bring them anything please let me know about a week ahead of time. I'll bring it down with me.

That right there is what I have found also. IMO that stuff is horrible.

Thats not any good. I think this might happen alot this year around the country. I hope this makes ya feel better. Last year Bull Shoals maxed out approx 30-35ft high When I was there it was about 27 ft high.

CLP or FP10 are two of the best out there.

I just did this a few weeks ago. Its pretty simple. Just make sure your transducers are level and less then 1 ft apart as it says in the manual for optimum use.

To build upon what River Rat said. Salt makes the plastic stiffer. Thus to make it more flexible again you must add more softener. Once this happens the bait gets real soft and becomes more tear prone. As for the sticky part. You can use salt, liquid scents, worm oil, etc. All will keep the baits from being sticky. Salt is the easiest and cheapest with the best benifits IMO.
