  1. We had bright sunshine, middle of the day, wind blowing, over open water with no weed mats, not the best conditions for top water. Yet I caught over 40 bass on that frog, first time I have ever tried it. It was the best topwater day I have ever had. The bass were tearing it up, literally. Though smaller fish then I usually catch on frog it was a lot of fun. My buddy tried different topwater baits, poppers, hollow body frogs, buzzbaits, but only caught a few (4 or 5). I returned a couple days later and caught over 20 more until the wind got the waves too choppy. One other point, the hook up ratio was tremendous, compared to other bigger hollow bodies frogs I've used.
  2. Never heard of "Fat Ika" before, until a few years ago on this forum. That one tip has been worth the price of admission. I have caught more fish on them in the last couple years then any other soft plastic, and I selfishly agree, KEEP IT A SECRET.
  3. I know I'm late on this, but just wanted to congratulate a fellow Idahoan on his win on Bull Shoal. A state not known for it's bass fishing and not a high producer of elite anglers on the tour. Again congratulation to Brandon Palaniuk, Idaho is proud.
  4. CONSISTANCY- is really the difference in any sports or endeveor. I might luck out and get the bat head out on a 95 mph fastball. We might bowl a 250+ game or reach par on a hole a few times, but what makes people able to compete on a high level and make a living at it is their ablility to do it consistantly. The more consistant your are, the more successful you are ($$$$) I've had great days out fishing when I probably could have place in a few tournys. Can I do it consistantly enough to make a living at it ? , well i ain't givin up my day job. Also keeping up with KVD is like hitting a 95mph fastball. (consistantly) (IMO)

  6. That would have been great in my day
  7. it varies, depending on where I'm going and how I plan to fish. I usually carry as many rods as I can without them being too cumbersome, up to 8.
  8. good post. I think that is one of the reasons fishing can be so compelling. Fish, learn, and figure things out.
  9. Oh, I'd catch fish alright. They would just catch bigger ones and more of them. I might get lucky here and there but in the long haul talent and experience would win out.

  19. You could give me the best of everything as far as equipment and the big boys would kill me on a zebco. They are far superior in knowledge and skill that no amount of equipment will compansate for.
