  1. I know many times when someone outfishes me it is because they are a better fisherman.
  2. I haven't keeped any of my bass for years. I'd rather catch them twice then eat them once, But for pond management I can surely see the wisdom in harvesting the neccessary numbers.
  3. I was thinking about trying one out years ago, but was saved from doing so by reading a lot of bad review about the rod on this forum. Good forum and well worth the price of a subscribtion.
  4. I own a Ci4 and a FH. I like the weight of the Ci4 but I think if I were to buy another reel it would be the FJ or another Sustain.
  5. WOW !!!! what an interesting response.
  6. Berkley digital scales (boga type)
  7. As of right now, in this frame of mind, it's my two GLX MBR 844
  8. 1/2 of an NRX rod. (don't know whick half)
  9. I bought the same scale and had to return them because they were terrible inaccurate and very inconsistant. I thought the same thing when I saw them being used on MLF (my new favorite show) I could weigh the same weight 5 times and come up with 4 different readings.
  10. Dish for 15 years, they do O.K. need more fishing shows though.
  11. I find that in the last few years I've gotten away from slow presentations of senkos and power worm and the like. I'm sure I'll cycle back into them eventually. I find I'd rather catch a few on frog or jigs then many on plastic worm.
  12. Oddly enough I have seen yawning bass while sight fishing. Usuallly when I throw a senko at them.
  13. No big deal, just take 30 sec. to write air & water temps. (other specific info. you might find hard to remember) and then wait til the next day or two when you have a few minutes when you can be more detailed.
  14. Very helpful for me I learn much from going back year by year. Recalling the weather conditions, temperture of air and water. How we fished an area and our suceesses and failure. Invaluable to me. It also act as a journal and brings back memories that might other wise be forgotten the older I get.
  15. I stiil believe shrink tubing is a MUCH better way to go. I tried O-rings for years with good success, but when I tried the shrink tubing it was no contest which way was best. IMO. I pre rig many senkos up at a time so when I fishing I spent no extra time and never seem to have a problem with them coming off.
  16. The reason I asked is to see if you are others had any insight to the longevity of the magnesium frame compare to an alumium frame. I know there are some concern that the magnesium might not hold up as well as alumium years down the road.
  17. The Frame: First and foremost make sure it is one piece, and aluminum. So you are not fond of magnesium based frames? i.e. Core.
  18. Sea Eagle is a good choice. I bought the 235 fpb a year a go and am very happy with it so far
  19. Anybody had experience with bassteamtackle.com grass skirts or the ones from honeyhole custom tackle?????? I'll check out realdeal
  20. That's the knot I use when I tie leader on braid and have no problem. I may be over doing my hook sets, but with 12# test I figure it ought to hold up to a good yank. I'm using a Med. rod.
  21. I tie the doulble palomar (nanofil) knot. Thanks for the idea on a new knot. I'll try it and leave a little extra tag then usual. I find a consistant fray of 4 to 5 feet after a few hours of use. I'm using it on a NRX 852s (M-XF) I use 12# test nanofil which ought to accommadate a descent hook-set I would think. Thans for the info.
  22. The leader is probably the big difference. I only spool it on a spinning outfit and the two ponds I usually fish nanofil on are shy of rocks and no really heavy cover just weed . I use it mostly on weightless plastics or swimming grubs. I started using it because I didn't want to tie on a leader.
  23. This is amazing to me, how someone has zero issues with a line that I and so many others struggle with. You experience no fraying at all ? No weakest of the line due to fraying? Do you even have to be bothered with inspecting it regularly and trimming off the weaken line. If you're doing sometime different that me to preserve the iintegerity of that line, I'd love to figure it out.
