  1. 11 years later... back when primary keys were exposed to the end user.
  2. That sounds interesting. The program I was in was just keeping a log of your own catch.
  3. SpeckFishingResource.com
  4. https://www.hiyoooo.com/
  5. If you say so, lol.
  6. I like to yell when I catch them Rockies.
  7. Not backwards, it's metric.
  8. Fashion shoots for Instagram! Make sure you hold the rod behind the reel,m which should be upside down. But seriously, folks...I think it would probably make a nice rod for pitching jigs, by your description. Try a few different weights with the trailers you like. There's usually a sweet spot for every rod.
  9. I use a slightly different gauge.
  10. That's fine for some things, like graph or a trolling motor on a smaller, uncomplicated boat. You aren't going to do as nice a job as a professional would integrating Vessel View with network linked graphs and trolling motor along with the stereo, VHF radio on my 25' bay boat. I rigged the linked units in my Bullet, and it took me a day and a half, and I can tell you for sure where it could go wrong. It took a day and a half to do, and longer to remove when I sold it.
  11. Excellent insight @newapti5 Replace "US Companies" with "US Reel Brands" and it's spot on.
  12. Or the wrong area, doing something wrong. Small bass are usually more aggressive than larger specimens. Dinks are nice if I'm testing a new tackle or technique, but otherwise not what I'm after.
  13. That's good advice. The dealer I've been talking to has shown me examples of their installs and will arrange a walk through with the owner, if I want to see it first hand.
  14. I'm not sure what I would be brashing or promoting here. Just relaying facts. To be perfectly transparent, if I never was offered a reel to try or worked on anyone else's reels, I'd be fishing Daiwa for casting and Shimano for spinning. I wouldn't know any better, and and I'd be content being labeled a biased fan boy.
  15. Sounds like beer pong mixed with beetus for the kids.
  16. We don't have any reel sponsors. I have reels from just about everyone available from domestic sources. None sponsor me.
  17. Pretty sure this thread is all about those personal preference items. I know I didn't have any clue at first, and talked to plenty of experienced boaters.
  18. Your boy just got three cents for you posting his video. Seems about right. Are there any videos where he talks crap about reels in his influencer's page on Amazon, lol.
  19. One eight hour trip where I catch one fish over 6 is better than a hour or so of dinks. I can't honestly put an average number, and don't need to stack my aggregated results with another angler. I'd prefer to put my money in the pot and see who wins that day on the same water. It's easier to get my head around that concept than something as nebulous as angling hours per fish.
  20. I'd wager that there was some thread lock or something holding that nut. That amount of torque would be way to much for attaching a prop. Prop wrenches are plastic, for the uninitiated.
  21. That's similar to the manufacturing model used by Saint Croix with facilities in the US and Mexico. I don't think that's the case with the company being referenced, or many other brands. The only one I know of that is close is Shimano, but they own and operate all their facilities in other countries. That's different than producing private label goods. I don't think these facilities are producing reels for anyone else. Daiwa has someone in China producing a few reels, but I'm not sure what their arrangement is. You can do a little searching and buy a reel that is amazingly similar to other big name brands, but have any number of names on the side.
  22. I caught a lot of fish with one spinning rod and one casting rod. The casting rod was a 6'6" Fenwick M/F which by today's standards would be considered a Fast to Mod-Fast 3 power rod. The reel was a mid level Daiwa loaded with 17# Trilene. These days, rods are a little longer.
  23. After going through the prototyping and sampling phase of developing a line of spinning reels to import and sell on Amazon, I can verify that yes, they come off the same line. You can change the parts to specs that you pay for. They don't care what name you put on it - in fact, the factory that makes the reel often isn't the same place that screens the name. Packaging is made elsewhere, and putting the product in the package is often yet another place.
  24. When the water is wet.
